    "Just show me that someone else in the country has a sense of humor about the name of their business! " What I meant by that was using the name "Shady Rest" from the TV show. I was just cutting everyone a little slack on the location and the whole hotel/motel thing. Oddly enough, Karen and I stopped at Poopy's yesterday on the last leg of our journey home from the Hub. Neat place, but I had heard it was spread out over a block of downtown, and that would have been way cooler in my eyes. Krispy, great job on the pics, and a 230 mile round trip to get them. That's what this is all about, another reason to go for a ride. So, what will the next target be??? Later, Scooter Bob

    Got in about 5 today. Visited relatives and a town I hadn't seen for 30 years last night in Prophetstown, IL. Left the Hub Wed morning, rode East and camped in TN. Had breakfat Thur in Kentucky, and followed the Miss up through Il all day. 2,080 mile round trip, only one day of rain, great folks at the Hub, lots of scenery, just a great trip.     Did about 500 miles today, and are at the KOA in Stanton, MO for the night(they have beer, and we need it after St Louis). Went to visit the arch, and found out 100,000 people were there for a Billy Graham Crusade(bad timing). But, that mess is over an hour behind us, and only a couple hundred more miles to do tomorrow and we're there. See you then, Scooter Bob and Karen

    Petticoat Junction It was a comedy TV show in the late 60's or early 70,s ( it was in color). That line is part of the show beginning song. I just have to think somebody must have named their hotel/motel after it. I think I've seen a couple here in WI over the years. Good Luck, Scooter Bob

    Freebird, say hi to my aunt Kay while you're in Kokomo, thanks. We'll be leaving Sunday Morning, and we are going to run the Superslab to St louis, see the arch, and camp a little past there. Then we will have a nice, mellow putt of 250 or so to the Hub on Monday. We will be taking our time all the way back later next week. See you at the Hub, Scooter Bob and Karen

    I road one last summer. Does ride and handle very nice. Loved that left thumb rocker switch to run the windshield up or down a few inches. But there is no way I could give up the room and convienience of the top loading bags. I thougt the trunk was quite a bit smaller too. Oh ya, Karen said she could never, never, never, get over the looks, but I already have. I would consider it a viable option if the luggage room was there. Just my .02, Scooter Bob P.S. Freebird, you should have rode it, at least a little, you get a free T shirt. Karen even got one for watching me ride the thing, even after she had told the saleman what she thought of the looks of it.

    m/c=motorcycle tire 71 and 74 and 80 are the load range, the 80 load range rear is around a hundred pounds more capacity than the stock 74. I think the letter is the speed rating, V is way higer than you need Many here, including me, run the AVON AM42 Venom on the rear 150/90vb-15 Scooter Bob

    We did your poll a little over a month ago and I believe we said we'd register. 2 days later we went deer hunting with the bike, walked away, but didn't even know if we'd have a bike to get there, so we never did register. Anywho, we got the bike back a week and a half ago, and are pretty much planning on heading down there for 2 or 3 nights. We'll camp if there are no rooms, and if the banquet food is already spoken for, we can make other arrangements for that too. Don't worry about us, we just want to come down to visit and have a little fun and see some new countryside. And we'll gladdly pay for whatever we do end up participting in as far as supporting the rally. Hope to see you next week, Scooter Bob and Karen

    Karen and I hit them all last summer, but a couple camera download issues caused us to lose four of the pics. We did get the patches and certificates that we met all the requirements for hitting them all, but it clearly stated 103/107. Have fun with it though, most are great, a small few may have been great before the houses got put in. Enjoy, Scooter Bob

    Take off the two screws on either side of the gas cap and lift off the plastic cover around the cap and switch. That's where I hid mine. Later, Scooter Bob
