My ex wife used to stuff a lot of stuff in the aspen classic camper trailer we had. We stopped at the feed mill on the way to the Freedom Rally in Iowa. Gross weight bike, trailer, two people and all the gear.... 2,150 lbs Used 4th gear to top a lot of hills in southwest WI, but it handled fine. Just leave a lot of room to stop! Later, Scooter Bob

I've been all over this state, but can't remember seeing anything like this. I think I better ride around today and look anyway, since 5" of snow coming our way tomorrow Later, Scooter Bob

Ever think Electric??? We run a 45lb thrust Minkota on the back of our 14ft fiberglass fishing boat. It goes 3.5 mph, almost what that little gas job does that you're looking at. Might weigh a little more with the battery, but you won't be spilling gas in your trailer. Probably get motor and good battery for less than $300. Just a thought, Scooter Bob

Rainsuits and cold weather ridning gear in left saddlebag all summer. Suitcase with clothes for 2 in the trunk Air mattress and pump and a few other things in the right side 8x8 dome tent and sleeping bags on the trunk We've done many 4 and 5 day trips like this. We often find a bar in the country just before dark and camp out back. Food and drinks that night, and hit the road in the morning. FJR Rider, twice we've stayed at Rays Boneyard, good company. We'll give you a buzz next time we're up that way. Later, Scooter Bob and Karen

Dan might not get back off the road till Friday, hard telling. What might the next target be if he likes your TOTEM POLE??? Looks like slightly warmer and a little sunny here Friday and Sat. morning. Really need to get out on the bike again, ya know what I mean.. And I want to play this game some more. Later, Scooter Bob

I'll have to remember these tips for organizing the web site, cus I don't have a first gen either. But, the biggest reason I could see for having the thread "STUCK" again is that hopefully more new people would see it and want to play with us. WilCruise, congrats on the TOTEM POLE pic. Hopefully Dan will like it. A little better weather coming our way this Friday and Sat, so we're looking forward the next target. Later, Scooter Bob

I did it, Please vote about sticking this thread again. Thanks, Scooter Bob

This looks like great fun and another great reason to get out and ride more. I just wish the weather would get better again. If nobody else gets that TOTEM POLE, by Saturday, I think we'll take a stab at it. I just don't want that one 5 miles from the house, thinking more like 50 miles. I think I'll try to start a poll about "sticking" this thread. Wish me luck, Scooter Bob

Australia Riders-hope this doesn't affect you all

I don't usually rant, and I absolutely hate too see the club politics go to extremes such as this, but... Unfortunately, there is too much of a fine line ( how they are dressed, type of insignia on the back, etc...) between 1% biker "gang" , and lots of good bike clubs, and just members of organizations like ABATE or CMA. Any laws need to be about the crime, not nessesarily the association. Could drag too many good people into restrictions on account of the acts of a small few (1%). As Regional (county) Rep of our local Statewide Motorcycle Rights Organization (ABATE of WI), we have a regional officer from a local bike club, and regular attendees from that club and another club and members of CMA and Blue Knights, all at the ABATE meeting to help keep them all enjoying the freedom of the open road. We can't be outlawing the motorcycle "gangs" a whole, because it affects way too many good riders out there. Just my .02, Scooter Bob:Venture: -
Are you hiring??? I could learn to love a job like that.

"You, your bike, and a full size totem pole" "The totem pole just has to be a carved 7,8,9, or 10' high pole..If you get a indian dude in the pic,you get extra credit" Found this one 5 miles down the road, but it's just way too tall to meet your specs(I guess it's in the 15 to 20 foot range). It's also way too close to home to meet my specs. I guess we'll have to keep looking. More ridin'; what a shame Later, Scooter Bob and Karen

That's what I wanted to see, IH Truck Guy in front of a John Deere. (just kiddin Dan) We had a blast today too. Was there a mustang involved in your late post??? Wow, a totem pole, you lookin for some part indian type dude to get the next target? This will get us thinkin' a little before the next ride. We'll be busy around here tomorrow, we'll have to see what next weekend brings. 1H region has a chili cook-off/party in Hartford sat afternoon. We might go there. We really need to make a local club party (one of them has an 05 midnight) that night for ABATE business reasons. We'll keep in touch though. Seriously though, we had a great time today with Dan and Shari, wonderful people:thumbsup2:. I hope we meet a lot more like 'em this summer. Looking forward to findin' the next target, Scooter Bob and Karen

the current target still is a pic of "you and your bike in front of a John Deere combine at an implement dealer" Still waitin'. I hope we don't end up with a pic of a mustang instead.... Scooter Bob

Ya, it's easy to do. We came around a curve Tuesday night, and there's a black cow walking towards us on our edge of the road. There eyes don't seem to reflect like a deer does. Anyways, we turned around and went back to Mike's farm, yes we know who's it was, and he went to get her back in. After taking down a deer in 01, I try to do less riding at night, but when it gets dark at 7, can't always be home by then. Just have to watch as close as you can, but still try to enjoy the ride. But that cow could mess up a bike and a person way worse than a deer. Later, Scooter Bob:Venture:

Nope, we have an 05 midnight, and we were north and NE of here. We do get down that direction often enough though. What are you riding? Scooter Bob

Yeah, I just realized my truck has been parked since last Friday, been ridin to work all this week. 700 miles on by the first day of spring this year, got to love it. Scooter Bob:Venture:

Karen and I went for a putt Tuesday after work, went fondy and took a picture of the light house with a large body of water behind it (if a frozen lake winnibego counts for that). Not even 10 mile into our 100 mile adventure, we ride by the dealer in Waupun with 6 combines lined up(old to new). Not to mention any names, but 2 members probably went right by this place on the way to the St Patrick's Day Parade last Sunday. Where's the pics guys???? Seriously, Somebody please get this soon, as we are off work tomorrow and would really like something new to look for. IH Truck Guy, you ridin' Friday?? We could do lunch somewhere if you're not truckin'. Scooter Bob and Karen P.S. I just looked at my map of states visited, If we can make MD, we could add 2 more, just never been a big fan of going east. Never know though. Dan, do you ride out in a day?(not that there's anything wrong with that)?? P.S. For those new, the current target still is a pic of "you and your bike in front of a John Deere combine at an implement dealer"

Glad you enjoyed the ride yesterday. Kind of busy tonight, but I smell 100 and some miles after work Tuesday (70degrees) Later, Scooter Bob and Karen -
Please, somebody, hurry up and get this. Should be easy most anywhere. Supposed to be in the 60's here after work tomorrow. We can't go get this target, because we set it, so we need a new one to go after. Please..... Good Luck, Scooter Bob and Karen

Ride in the Fox Lake, WI St Patrick's Day Parade March 15
Scooter Bob replied to Scooter Bob's topic in Watering Hole
Thanks for coming down. We looked for you guys after the parade, no such luck. Please give me a break for not finding you. We have not had weather like this after a winter like this for years. Tons of bikes showed up, got to love it. Only a couple times I've ever seen that many folks dowtown to watch the parade I've been doing this parade every year since '88, first time I didn't have to wear a jacket. Keep in touch, We'll be glad to head your way for any local event, let us know. Hope to have pics from people downtown up here soon. Thanks again, Scooter Bob and Karen:Venture: -

I looked too quick at your name line, and thought you were from Nekoosa. Since it's Nenah, take 26 to downtown Waupun, Right on 49 West, Left onto 68 at west edge of Waupun and into Fox Lake. Whe you get near downtown, take left at Kwik Trip(hwy33east) and go south 2 blocks to Cherry St and go left. See you there, "I'll be the guy with the venture" TOO, Scooter Bob:Venture: -
I take turns between JP cycles and Dennis Kirk. One time JP will be $30 less, next time DK will be $30 less. Depends which one wants to sell tires that month I guess. Scooter Bob

05 midnight bought new July 11 2005, now has 50,500 miles. I change tires and oil and synch carbs when needed and ride, ride, ride... Scooter Bob:Venture:
