  1. Yes, It was a great time. Met a lot of nice folks, ate lots, drank more. I haven't seen any complaints posted yet, are those 5 bikes I synched the carbs on still running?? Thanks to Mike (i think) for bringing an entire 1 gen carb set in the trunk so I could locate the screws and learn how to do those carbs as well. And the muscle pains i my thighs are reminding me that I gave a lesson in bagger pick up 101 (not my bike this time), but it beats tearing your back out. Thanks for the hospitality Jeff, Later, Scooter Bob PS. I need a thesourous. I can't believe how many different explainations there are for a bunch of guys standing around drinking beer and Bulls%&tting. HA HA
  2. We're leaving this morning to get the hunting bike back from Oshkosh, heading straight to the UP for a couple days, then I'll leave Saturday morning early to ride to the Fun. See you all then, Scooter Bob
  3. I'm awake and bumping this back to the top, But we'll be leaving in a bit to get the hunting bike back from the shop and won't be back till Sunday night. Later, Scooter Bob Current Target is...we are looking for " you, your bike and a Rodeo Arena" from KBay
  4. Some else will have to keep this bumped overnight, as it's time for me to go nite nite. Later, Scooter Bob
  5. This was "unstuck" from I believe late last summer till around April. I actually started a Poll on this site to see if it should be "stuck" again. Overwhelmingly ( 31 to 16 to 2) in favor of being stuck. It did have a couple targets that kind of killed it for a few weeks this spring , but it has started moving the last couple weeks or so. AND, I haven't even been able to play for 2 and a half weeks. :whistling:But, that should change tomorrow about 10am, and then it's off to the U.P. for a couple days and then to the WI Maint Day. Please reconsider, this is a hard one to keep going if new people don't see it up front and start wondering what it is and start playing. Just my , Scooter Bob
  6. As I read through the posts though, sounds like something happened to corrupt his pics, and he deleted them. This should have been the hit and the next target Originally Posted by Kbay [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=359728#post359728][/ame] The next target is " You, your bike in front of a Rodeo Arena" I should have the bike back out of the shop tomorrow and can play again!!! Later, Scooter Bob
  7. I won't be backing up either !!!! Later, Scooter Bob
  8. New Target (curtisy of my wife) You, Bike and a Purple Truck! (can be pickup, Big rig, etc) Karen's favorite color is PURPLE, and the hunting bike is still in the shop. She's gonna be mad if anyone gets this before we get the bike back.... Later, Scooter Bob
  9. The shop told me they should have the hunting bike back together by next Thursday morning. If that's the case, I'll follow Karen up to Michigan with the bike, and head back by myself early Saturday Morning and join in on the fun. Hope it all shakes out OK, Later, Scooter Bob
  10. Just a gentle prying with a small blade at the edge. They are just plastic caps with fingers stuck into the socket head of the clamp bolts. Good Luck, Scooter Bob
  11. Since the hunting bike will be in the shop til after that weekend, we already made plans to head to a family reunion in Michigan that week end. I doubt we'll make it, but you never know. Maybe we can switch a couple days around. We'd love to meet a few more of you folks from this site, and the beer sound good too!! Later, Scooter Bob and Karen
  12. Ya, I saw that last night too, while looking for a replacement for my Deer Hunting Bike. Seems almost too good though, I think I will check into it much closer before considering. I know of 2 new 07 blue/blacks in our state and the dealers are asking just over 15k for them. Probably a better deal for me than flying to New York City to ride one back. I'd probably have that one smashed up in 55 miles instead of the 55,000 I had on the last one. Later, Scooter Bob
  13. Great job on that by the way.. Getting ready for the ride to the shop today, I noticed the top of the back crash bar attaches to a subframe assembly that holds up the back fender and stuff. That mounting tab is bent real good, so that subframe might need replacing too. I'll be real surprised if it doesn't get totalled out. I've already been looking around for a new/slightly used one to replace her. Thanks for the info, Scooter Bob
  14. $6,000, what did that include? If that was everything ahead of the neck bearings, then mine will be totalled for sure. Just out of curiousity, Scooter Bob
  15. Just got back from riding the bike to the dealer in Oshkosh for the estimate. Had to stop 10 miles from home and get some duct :duck:tape and put all the lower fairing pieces back on. I guess it's just not jetted for a ram air intake system. Anyways, he said he'd have the estimate done in a day or so, and, ( I can't believe this) if the insurance company doesn't total it, they could have it all done in a couple weeks. Must be why the only make 2 colors a year, easy to keep the parts in stock. It took the HD stealer 9 weeks to get my Electra glide back on the road, and they make all the fiberglass parts 4 hours from here in Tomahawk, WI. I guess we just wait and see now, Later, Scooter Bob
  16. Wow, what a ride RR. And your welcome, but I bet you still won't feel much safer next time you head down this way. Actually, I figured out a better use for the deer whistles. I going to go back to the crash site and throw them out into the marsh. We'll have a better chance of a deer tripping on them and falling down before they make it to the road. Later, Scooter Bob and Karen
  17. You're right, actually took today off as well. Plant shut down, so I was supposed to be doing some equipment upgrades this week on the shop floor. Everything's still too stiff for that. (Scooter Bob who can't find a smily with a band aid on him) Obviously the big venture is a much better hunting bike than the 99 electraglide was:stickpoke:, they had to finish that one off with the pistol back in 01 Ya, Ya, I keep forgetting when that season starts. Last one was at end of July. Gotta quit firing so early I guess. Actually, I think it has a lot to do with the state bird (mosquito) driving these guys nuts in the marshes that gets 'em running out like that. Oh ya, nice job on the attemped Boomer Quote:thumbsup2: We'll live, we'll learn, and we'll probably ride even less at night than the very little we do now. Thanks for the replies and the get wells everybody, Later, Scooter Bob and Karen
  18. I've caught a bee inside my vest a couple different times. Karen didn't know what was wrong as I was swatting and swinging trying to end his life with that second one. Ya Dan, she still laughs about it. Later, Scooter Bob
  19. We hit a small nub buck last night about 6 miles from home. We're pretty much fine, just a few scrapes and bruises. Hoping that's all it is. I road the bike home from the towing company this morning. Seems to handle ok, so I hope it's mostly cosmetical stuff. But it looks like a lot of cosmetical stuff, so I wouldn't be surprised if it gets totalled out. Front fairing, windshield, fairing mounts tweaked, blinker mounts tweaked, lower left fairing broken, chrome grill dented, gas tank has 3 dents, both left crash bars bent and worn through(what a spark show as we slid down the road on it though), left saddle bag broken, trunk lid scraped, speaker housing scraped, antenna scraped, handle bars bent, mirror scraped. Probably a few more things we've missed. Oh ya, when we went to the crash site this morning, the first thing I picked up was the deer whistles. Guess those didn't help much. Later, Scooter Bob and Karen PS, for some reason the pic of the deer wouldn't load, but he was dead instantly.
  20. I'd say OK, if it was up to me. Anything to get this moving again with some scenic target instead of having to stage something. just my .02, Scooter Bob
  21. I just talked to Dan(IH Truck Guy). He can't do next Sat the 27th, but could do Sunday the 28th. We could do either one next weekend. Hard to tell after that. Just my .02, Scooter Bob
  22. Could be fun. Even just for the get together. I can synch carbs on 2nd gens and pull wheels and change oil, but I don't have a tire changer. We'll be gone to the ABATE Summer Hummer this weeked, but not a whole lot on the calendar for a couple weeks after that. Later, Scooter Bob
  23. Going to the Summer Hummer?? We'll get up there sometime later Friday Afternoon. Later, Scooter Bob
  24. barefootwillies.com, solid mounted, holds most water bottles, a variety of coffee cups, and a beer in a cozy at the campground, and about 20 bucks. Later, Scooter Bob
  25. You need to loosen this nut up to tighten the neck bearing nuts underneath the triple tree. Snug neck bearings = no shimmy. Best to cut off an allen wrench and loosen the top fork tube clamps when doing so, so we don't stress the top tree. Just my .02, Scooter Bob
