I thought we had a winner for the Great VR Scavenger Hunt..... The current target is..... You and your bike with a beach in the background. Prefer warm and sunny with sand and blue water, but so everyone can play, I will settle for hard water and snow covered sand as well. Have fun with it... You bet it will! I used to have the long uphill driveway thing giong. I don't miss it. Please join in when you can get out. Karen and I have had a ball, and put on lots of miles just going to look for some goofy thing that was the current target here. Hopefully this thread will start moving soon, what with spring coming and all. I've set my own other target for this trip I'm starting today. I'll post a of the first ROBIN I find as I head south. Any beach, anywhere will do. Several of us would be glad to see a new target to look for. You could convince me that just about anything in a picture is "snow covered sand" at this point. Good Luck, Scooter Bob

No, next Tuesday, March 2. I had planned on leaving the Loozeaner Meet and Wrench Sunday morning and having 2 days to do about 750 miles to Cocoa Beach and find a place to camp before the Monday evening Launch. Guess I'll stay by Daytona somewhere Monday night and ride down there Tuesday, if they don't move it again. I'll wave to ya on the way down I-39 tomorrow, Scooter Bob

I'm heading to Cocoa Beach Monday night to watch a rocket launch and camp there. I'll head back up to Daytona on Tuesday and have a day or two to do whatever, and be heading sort of towards home from there. Later, Scooter Bob UH OH, change of plans already, and I haven't even left yet. The Rocket launch has been moved to Tuesday night now.

Snowed a couple inches for Monday morning, but most melted. Snow on the ground again this morning. Predicted snow and flurries for tomorrow also. Wish me luck just getting out of Fox Lake tomorrow. Unfortunately, she's not. She's not much for riding in the cold, and she's getting closer on a couple job possibilities, so she's gonna stay home and hold down the fort and keep the dogs company. One of them is already pouting as he sees the suitcase out and all the bags open on the bike, he knows something is up. You ridin' the shovel over? I'd love to see it. Later, Scooter Bob

Must be an old S&S "B" model eh. If so, you might consider a Keihn CV off of an EVO. Tons were pulled from the EVO's in favor of bigger carbs, so they're pretty cheap at swap meets. It'll bolt right to the S&S manifold. That Keihn will wake up the old shovel perfectly. And you'll have an accelerator pump again, much better rideability. Later, Scooter Bob

I saw in one of these threads that you have a tire changer. Could I possibly have a front tire shipped to your place and put it on when I get there. I think it's got a fair amount of miles left in it, but not so sure about the 3-4,000 this whole trip will end up being. If so, could you PM me your UPS shipping address. Thanks, Scooter Bob

Easy now Renne. You really need to go for a putt. I think I'd buy a new RSV and have "Monday" painted on the tank, then go get another one and paint "Tuesday" on it, etc.. Of course that's fine around here, but with all that money, who'd want to stay around here. I'll have to get another one and paint "Vacation Bike" on it Later, Scooter Bob

I plan on leaving Wednesday Morning, and heading south through IL. I hope to meet DynoDon for lunch, and stay somewhere south of Champaign by dark that night. Hope to get somewhere near Memphis by Thursday night, and get to the Loozeeaner Meet and Wrench by Friday night. We'll see how the :snow:weather cooperates:cold:. If I fall a little short, I've got an offer from wes0778 to stay in Jackson, and head to the M&W Saturday morning. After the M&W, I want to get to Cocoa Beach by Monday night to see a Delta IV rocket launch. Tuesday I'll head up to Daytona to buy a t-shirt that says I was there and probably go camp out at the ABATE campground. From there I hope to head up the east coast for a few more states I've never been in, and head home from there. Anyone else on here go to Bike Week??? I'll be updating this thread as things progress. I've been planning a trip to bike week (just to say I've been there, hate the crowds and traffic and such). While I'm at it, I wanted to add several states to the visited map. So my plan was to ride straight south to that little southeastern tip of LA, and head east from there. And here you go setting up a meet and wrench right on my way!! If the weather lets me get out of here and make some halfway decent miles for 3 days, I would like to plan on rolling in there Friday night and would probably like to camp Friday and maybe Saturday, and head east on Sunday Morning. Want to get to Cocoa Beach by Monday evening cus there supposed to launch a rocket!! I hate to say "For sure", to many :cold:variables:snow2:, but I'll keep you posted as the trip progresses. Later, Scooter Bob PS, could somebody down there go hit the current Scavenger hunt target and set a new one for me to look for on my trip.
