So listening to all the talk of Maintenance Day I see posting the 5th and 6th is it one or two day event. My wife has planned my sons graduation party for the sixth but I thought it would be neat to put faces to all these names. From checking White pages.com I am under an hour away and trying to figure any way to do it. Maybe by then she will change the date.

That would be 44days to the official first day of spring. But I am itch-en to get out and ride. Wife got me the Vor-Tek Jacket from star, new boots and the small tank bra but its just to cold to do anything with them. But I see 40's for the weekend.

Remember the children take the brunt of the divorce they are both old enough to be told the truth and the reasons behind the separation. Hopefully you and your ex can also remember you will end up being together for the rest of your life in the bond of your children's lives. When the kids understand the true reasons they will come around as long as you prove you still want them in your life and are understanding to there fear of them being left. I am not divorced but have numerous family and friends we have helped through these matters. Just remember to tell them they are not the cause and you love them.

new bike needed..thinking a about a road glide
MidlifeVenture replied to davepa's topic in Watering Hole
To me the hardest thing when it came down to the purchase was the stuff if any other company would mass market there bikes with clothing, furniture, hats ,boots ,gloves, toilet seats etc .etc etc they would give HD a run for there money. The one thing that I found was I had more room on the Venture I am 6'3". -
Have to say I also have a great wife 4 years ago just before Christmas I stopped at a local dealer while waiting for my wife to go shopping, I found a 81 Goldwing for 2500. Call it a mid life crisis because I had never had a bike but I fell in love with it. Dropped hints but got put down. A couple weeks later she gave me the sales slip under the tree.

RUB IT IN WHY DON'T YOU!!

new bike needed..thinking a about a road glide
MidlifeVenture replied to davepa's topic in Watering Hole
I had a 81 goldwing before I bought my venture I had a hard time deciding between a HD and the venture. Then I road my friends classic for about 20 miles I got off it and my hands and feet itched from the vibration. Make sure to ride one if you can its not as smooth as the RSV also on another ride we got stuck in traffic and he had to shut down because he was over heating. He has also broke a drive belt twice on long rides causing some overnight stays to get the belt replaced. -
I went through the same thing about 2 yrs ago. I ended up with the Nissan Frontier extended bed four door it gave me the most bang for the buck. I average 21 MPG. Second place was the honda Ridge line it has some neat features but looks a little funny. Ive had 2 pathfinders over the years and they lasted great do yourself a favor and at least go look at the Nissan.

I don't understand it but the owners manual shows all down shifts to be done at 16 mph. But I have always down shifted to slow.

Hey if it is what you want to ride and feel like getting some wind and not havin music then why not. Remember the one with the most toys at the end wins. And I believe in trying to win. You will save some gas to.

Looks like the bike show is Jan 30-Feb 1. Is anyone planning to be at the show. Don't have the money to spend but it is always fun to look. If anyone goes to it in DC or NY let us know if it is worth the admission and parking cost. But once the show comes spring isn't far behind (68 DAYS).

That is 79 more days to the official first day of spring. Yesterdays 45 degree weather was a perfect mid winter brake to take the bike for a spin. Can't wait for the warm weather.

I got the leather tank bra for Christmas and saw that the clip for the intercom will be in the way. Is it just double faced tape holding it on? I want to use the pouch on the bra to hold my I-pod.If it is tape any one know what is the best tape to replace it out of the way?

Is there any rejeting or carb adjusting that is required or is it as easy as bolt on with a new bracket:think: -
