  1. Greetings, what sort of a tool do you use to sync the carbs, is it difficult? Johnny
  2. We are going to the Kootenay Venture Ride in Nelson BC. The Osoyoos BC Get together. The Flat Lander Ride in in Russel MB. A trip to Northern Vancouver Island BC. A Trip to Dawson Creek BC. Other than that some local rides. Some in Washington State. Johnny & Renee
  3. I got the Gerbing gloves and when I took them off the liners would come out, they told me to push the liners in with a chopstick, and it was a real hassel to get them back in, also they say the gloves are waterproof, the ones I had were not. I would not buy Gerbings again. Take care , Johnny
  4. Glad to hear you are riding. I live in British Columbia Canada and I ride all year. Today I waxed my bike. Just put a tachometer on her the other day and now I know why some people use tachometers. I really did not know anything about them other than they could tell you about were your rpm,s are. ( I had one in an automatic car that I owned a while ago however if it is automatic what is the tach for?) wawwwwww is my shifting smooth, and when I am on some secondary roads I shift into fifth gear instead of 4th save gas. I know that it sounds like I am hijacking this thread however a lot of us ride all year here and in Washington State. I think it must be a great feeling to not have ridden for a long time and get on a bike and go for it. Hope you have a good riding season. Take care, Johnny
  5. Greetings, I have a lower windshield and love it. Last summer my wife and I rode from the West Coast to the East Coast then back to the West Coast. We had a lot of rain in the East and it became a problem seeing through the windshield as the rain mixes with a lot of dirt and oil from the road. I stopped @ a windshield place and they took about 3 inches off. That was not enough so a week or so later we stopped at a garage in a small town and I asked if I could use there jig saw and I would pay for it. The chap helped me and we took another 2 or 3 inches off. A week later I stopped @ another garage and the chap helped me and would not let me pay him. ( same with the 2nd chap ) This time it worked. My windshield is 10 inches from the silver strip @ the bottom. I am 5ft 7in and there is almost no buffering from the wind. I can see over it in all weather and wind is not a problem even if I forget to put my glasses on. @ no time was the windshield taken off. Just a jig saw. We marked it with a felt tip pen first. The time it takes to cut as about 5 min. Just go slow and it works. I then @ a later date took a file and some sandpaper to it. It looks like it was made that height. Hope this helps you, Johnny

    Noise

Last Aug I got a 2008 Royal Venture and the nois really was unpleasant. I put a set of Samson Fish Tail slip on mufflers on and now I do not hear the wwwwhiiiiiinnnnnn any more. They have a nice deep throaty sound and are not to loud. When the bike was 6 weeks old I had to have the rear hub replaced as it was shot. The dealer said he has never seen that happen before. I have done a lot of mods and love the bike( It is a Keeper) Johnny
  7. Greetings, my wife and I have had several MC vacations, the last was summer of 2008. We rode 2 up from Vancouver British Columbia West Coast across Canada to New Foundland St Johns the farthest East part of North America. On the way back we went right down the East Coast to Main and rode back across the USA to Washington State on the West Coast USA then up to our home in British Columbia Canada. We took 8 weeks however 10 makes more sense to us. There were so many places that we wanted to spend extra time at. Motels all the way. It was hard to believe the price of gas in the USA was only around $4.00 a GL you really are lucky @ that time in Canada it was closer to $6.00 a GL or $1.50 a litre. Ride Safe, JohnnyB
  8. I got a 2008 RSV last Aug, in Sept I had to have the FINAL DRIVE REPLACED also. this is a problem with the RSV I am glad we were not on a long trip at the time. The bike was not quite 2 months old at the time. Johnny
  9. I think your response was inappropriate. You had a choice, you made it. Johnnyb
  10. I have the offset hwy pegs also and love them. Johnnyb
  11. I also have a whine in my 2008 Royal Venture. I have 1,4000 km on it and just had the caseing for the drive shaft replaced. The whine is still there it does bother me and I love the bike however if I knew about it at the time I would not have bought the bike, I have had other bikes and I hear the motor and the exaust, and that I like. It does take some of the fun away when it sounds like you are riding a sewing machine. Johnnyb PS I put Samson Fish Tail slip on's on and it helps drownd out the whine. They are not to loud, they sound deep I like them
  12. John Greetings, we are going to the ISRA in Russel MB next July 23-25, when is the one in Arkansa? This Sept 13th we are going to the Toy Run in Port Alberny BC. It is a day's ride to get there for us as we have to take the ferry to Vancouver Island. Last year 1,100 bikes turned out and it was alot of fun.

Say hi to Diane for us.

    Take Care,

    Johnny & Renee
