  1. Does this tire make my butt look big? AND WHAT THE????
  2. Hello all!!! Well we been shooting this around for a while now with no date so, since I started this whole thing a while back, lets make the " Northern Iowa Meet & Eat" (with our neighbors to the north this time, if they behave,,,,,NOT). At > "The Other Place" 200 Highway 18 W., Clear Lake, Iowa 50428 (641)357-8118 January 10th at 1:00pm Looks to be a Pizza/Pasta style place with BEER! "Got the info off the internet so Iowawegian if I got the address or name wrong let us know?" I think 1:00pm will give us more room if needed as the "Lunch" rush crowd will be thinning out, and for anyone coming from any distance they will have time to get there. Anyone is welcome to come no mater what or even if you ride. I want to meet & put a face to some people that I see & read about on here. So if that is you come on up, down, over, oh just come to the "Other Place on the 10th of January in Clear Lake Iowa for some talk and fun with friends!!! HOPE WE GET SOME FRIENDS TO SHOW!!!! SEE YOU THERE!!!!! Bryan
  3. I would like to meet other riders too. I think it was said that after the Holidays it would be better for some (for me too) so that is why I may have suggested January. But if we have one in January that doesn't mean we couldn't do it again in February and / or March:lightbulb: ? We could hold one in Clear Lake and get some of the Minnesota riders to join us. Then the next month maybe have one closer to Illinois and get some of them to come too? Sorry I don't want to ride the bike in the snow and crap so to me it would be great to meet and maybe do a little planning for summer? As for Sunday that would be OK too, but it would take away maybe a "weekend getaway" for someone having cabin fever? The Clear Lake one I was planning on just spending the night up there and drive home Sunday, maybe see some sights, drive some different roads? My long range weather forecast thingy only goes to January 3rd right now, and has a small chance of snow then. As for date what about the 10th of January at the "Other Place" that Iowawegian suggested? Cerbius, Cherberus oh heck the biker formally known as Black Owl:stickpoke: says Iowawegian may get ejected from anyplace else.
  4. I could see a M&E here! Sure I may never leave,,,,but I would be happy.
  5. Sorry to hear of your mishap. I am an old Iowa farm boy that grew up riding in plowed fields, hay fields & gravel and dirt roads. Rode down gravel roads "new gravel" at 50 & 60 mph with the back end just swaying from side to side. (Young and stupid!) Learned all about gravel, some times the hard way. Now days I hit corners so if I see gravel on the pavement I can still go upright and still make the corner. I have learned never to trust the corners. In the northern states they sand here in the winter and, well come spring a lot of the sand it still on the road. Not in the car tracks but where the state says you are to ride a motorcycle (middle of the lane). "You know where all the oil from cars and trucks drips, where all the dead animals wind up, where all the clods, rocks and anything that two wheels don't like, winds up!" You just learn to go slower, not lean as much and a void fast starts and stops till the heavy spring rains come and washes the sand off the roads. If I get my say so about it, I will teach my grand kids to learn to ride on the same stuff I did. I honestly think I learned the best way. I have rode with others that I was behind of, and in front of, that went down cause they didn't know what to look for as for signs in the road. Good luck and yes get back on as soon as you can. Just think of it as a learning experience. And NOW you know, if it looks ODD, don't take the chance!
  6. Here is one maybe you can get ideas from?
  7. You can try here it has running, brake and turn
  8. There's one thing good about being poor - its inexpensive. Success is a relative term - It brings so many relatives! Illiterate?... Write for FREE HELP! Oh yea? If you're so smart, why don't I understand you? She is so deep, get close and you can hear the ocean!
  9. My favorite is the little bar and those rings through ?????????? OOOOPS never mind we are talking about the bikes now right?
  10. Welcome aboard!!! Enjoy the ride!
  11. Here is a new "Rhino tire" jell they spray into your tire. Got a cool video with a motorcycle,,,,,, OK it's really a crotch rocket. They sell the tires pre-sprayed. I looked up the ones for my RSV > AM41 VENOM FRONT AV-323 SIZE & RATING: 150/80H 16 BLK 204.95 AM42 VENOM REAR AV-336 SIZE & RATING: 150/90HB 15 BLK - (Reinforced, Bias belted) 210.95
  12. Thought this post was pretty cool. But then maybe you already do this? No scratching the rim!! Tire change with NO tire irons!
  13. Sorry, couldn't let this Yamaha go by with out someone seeing it! I see a potential problem for big people like me. (Hey Snarly Bill it will go 0 to 60 in 3 seconds!!!!!) 2010 VENTURE
  14. The bad / good thing is you, I , we, are all different. Some like this, some like that. It is getting WAY to easy to "offend" someone / anyone with out even trying. Some like Harley's some like Honda's some like Yamaha's, some like it hot some like it cold, some like sun, some like snow, and so on and so forth. If any of US are offended WE do have the right and the ability and the intelligence to change the channel, flip to another thread, walk away...... The list goes on. You, nor I, nor any of us, can go through life let alone this site or any other, with out "offending" someone, some how, some where. That is what makes US all important and unique. If WE were all the same and thought the same WE would not need to have posts as WE would all think a like...... At any given time, you will not be able to do or talk about ANYTHING with out "offending" someone. I would say I'm sorry about the person upset about the Harley bashing. But it was probably by someone who deep down wants a Harley and can't afford it. Or as a "JOKE" just like I see the 1st and 2nd generation guys go at it. (Crap, I probably just offended any lady that rides by using the word guys.) See how easy it is? And I am sure I have just "offended" someone by my OVER use of commas and capital letters. Just my:2cents: Try to have a great day! And don't sweat over the petty stuff!
  15. But can we still talk about the women? Or it that to,,,,,,,, political LOL Auh shucks, lets just have fun:thumbsup2:
  16. Built mine in 1997, The RSV pulls it real good.

  19. http://www.thoroughbred-motorsports.com/
  20. BILL I AGREE WITH YOU 100%! Now with that said there is the other side and the other people that "ABUSED" the system & union rights. I took a job with John Deere about 8 years ago. Had the job for 8 months before I quit. Under the "NEW JOHN DEERE" union contract the workers "ME" could only make a total of $29,780.00 a year base pay (no overtime included). NO benefits when I would retire. All that was fine with me too! What was not fine with me was the "old timer" next to me would make his rate (which was WAY DIFFERENT than my set up) and lay against his welder and sleep for 4 to 6 hours a day! EVERY DAY! And he made $110,000 a year! The company could NOT do anything to him cause he had his rate done. Even THAT was not the reason I quit. I may be dumb but I am not stupid, at some point in the future there will be more "young" employee's than the "old timers". Most of the "young" guys felt the "old guys" sold them out. So there will be a new contract come up at some point and the company will say "Darn we wish we could give you a $2.00 an hour raise but we have to pay for all those retiree's benefits that you DON"T get". "Well GEE, look here those benefits are up for VOTE also?" Myself, I was not going to cut anyone's throat for a JOB! That is why I quit. But there were many more than one that did not work near as hard as you or I, some were good and I am still, to this day, good friends with. The others.....well there are the ABUSERS of any system! Just my worth, Bryan
  21. At the back of the bike the colors are as follows: Dark green is the right turn signal. Dark brown is the left turn signal. Blue is the tail light. Yellow is the brake light.(Well yellow doesn't show up well but you get the picture) Black is ground.
  22. $1.89 at Wally-World in Oskaloosa, IA last night. Today back up to $1.93. *%@# should have filled it last night!
  23. You could also try out this one?
  24. This one looks like it would work? 7500 miles to take in the lower 48! But what's the most ground you've covered -- five states? Ten? And how quickly have you covered it? Ever managed an 800 mile day, or 1000? How about doing approximately 1500 miles a day for five days straight, around the clock with stops only made for gas? It may sound impossible, but that's exactly what Josh Keeler, Adam Gatherum, and Joey Stocking are doing in an attempt to pass through all 48 states of the continental U.S. in under just 120 hours. Following a route originally planned 15 years ago by Keeler's father and a friend, the trio started out in Vermont, zigzagged down the east cost to Florida, over to Louisiana and Texas before winding back up through the Midwest, and are now heading across Montana to the Pacific Northwest before turning south again toward their finish line at the famed Four Corners. The route is pretty much continuous, with diversions to hit a few states such as Michigan, Minnesota, Texas, and California, among others. To save time the guys have packed their own grub (even fast food takes too long) and eat while on the road, stopping for bathroom breaks only when they need gas. So if you're on a mission to beat the best known time for a 48-state trek of 127 hours and 15 minutes, what vehicle do you take? The group decided on a 2005 Scion xB for the interior room and gas mileage (the car is averaging 29 - 30 mpg on the trip), but unfortunately it doesn't have cruise control, which must have made for a long drive across the Great Plains. Equipped with GPS, two laptops, cameras, and a cell-phone modem, the road trippers have a blog about their journey complete with photos, an update on their progress, and their observations along the way -- such as the fluctuation in gas prices between $3.59 and a whopping $3.99 a gallon. Having covered 5,102 miles as of yesterday, Adam, Josh, and Joey are on schedule to reach the Four Corners by half past seven on Friday morning, if not earlier. So if you're on the West Coast and happen to spot a burgundy Scion decked out with the trip's "48 states, 5 days, 3 men" motto on the freeway, be sure to give 'em a friendly honk. Check out the road trip website here. file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/HELLOB%7E1/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot-12.jpgfile:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/HELLOB%7E1/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot-13.jpg
