  1. I would highy recomend that you listen to what others on this forum are saying about the problems with Metzlers.I have never had them but this is one group of experienced riders. It sounds as if it has something to do with the weight of the Venture abd RSTD but what also bothers me is they try to place the blame on the rider and have not warned the consumer that they have complaints about the tire chunking and seperating.Do not risk your life over a set of tires.
  2. I think the Utopia are your best option.I have the Diamond R but they stopped making them for the RSTD.
  3. If that is the case you certainly get good bang for your buck:cool10:
  4. It appears that you have a chrome trim around your gas tank that looks sharp.Where did you get that? You have a really sweet bike.
  5. The grips are http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/pages/catalogs/detail/17/134/1474/10955/1/0/0/1/4/90/68/330/universal-isogrips.aspx My apologies but I cannot find where I bought the shifter covers and brake pads On the windshield bag that is the best bag I have seen but I do not know if it will fit on my RSTD?Would you happen to know?
  6. That is exactly what I want if it will fit the RSTD.Did you put it on a RSTD?
  7. Why dont we all hold hands and sing Kumbaya.
  8. Can someone suggest the best place to buy leather storage bags for my 2006 RSTD?
  9. Well I hope I have finally cured my chrome obcession.Below is what I have put on my rstd in order of looks and function with comments: 1. Studed reshaped seats with both gel and memory foam.(Great must have) 2. Side saddlebag rails-Like the looks and protection but hard to clean behind 3. Kurkyan longhorn highway pegs-Great for long rides and look good too.Matching handlebar grips, brake cover, and heal/toe shifter covers 4. Diamond R backrest.Makes a world of differance with long rides 5. Billet Passenger floorboards and driver floorboard insert 6 Led taillights and H4 zenon headlight The headlight is a must if you ride at night(much better visibility) 7.Billet Carb. cover 8.Passenger floorboard backing plates(You really need billet floorboards for this to look right ) 9. Chrome fender tips.(the back fender tip is a b**** to install) 10.K&N filter with with Billet chrome air cleaner covers 11.Chrome tail light cover 12 show chrome bullet banjo covers 13 Billet clutch cover 14.Chrome brake resivoir cover 15.Billet engine cleaner cover 16 Chrome battery covers side(I was real dissapointed they do not have a middle cover. My bike is pearl white and I am not pleased with the way it looks without a chrome middle cover). 17.Front chrome billet covers(I wish I would have bought the show chrome version which bolts on and covers more of the brake) 18.Chrome license tag frame 19 Chrome hoods for lights 20.Chrome oil cap PS. I forgot my Wagnor grill cover which should be around # 8 Now what I want is a windshield bag and other storage bags. Suggestions????
  10. Welcome aboard! I am from Charlottte and frequent the BRP nears Meadow Of Dan VA where I have a cabin.Let meknow when you guys are going up.
  11. Thanks Tom! Thats what I thought.
  12. I saw some mfg. by Kurakyn that looked very good and at 18.00 ea.but al the sites have it specified for the Venture and V star only.Does the RSTD not have the same front calipers?
  13. Choosing a Harley versus Venture rarely is about pros and cons of each bike (there is nothing wrong with that) but in many cases the "status"of owning a Harley which if money is not an issue is fine.I rode an Ultra last weekend and my friend drove my RSTD and at the end of the ride we both agreed the RSTD was a smoother more refined ride but I must admit I did enjoy the feeling of riding that Ultra.
  14. I have seen the OEM covers and then I saw some mfg by show chrome. The one by shoe chrome seem to cover more than the OEMs in the pics I saw.Has anyone elsed purchased these and are they difficult to install?
  15. These bikes seem to want to run at a bit higher rpm than what I was accustomed to.I think that may be your problem.Pay attention to what speeds you are changing gears and we can compare. It is easy to shift into fifth to soon.
  16. As far as your wireless connection I have listed below some of the problems it could be: Is it DSL or cable? If DSL it sounds like interferance from cordless telephone or the frequency they have you on.Ask the phone company to change frequecy and make sure if you have cordless phones make sure they have a filter on them. It could be the router
  17. The stealership will always tell you they need rejetting but trust me some of the people on this board have more knowledge than all the stealerships put together.Unfortuntly I am not one of them.I really appreciate the people on this board.
