  1. The seating looked good when I checked it. Checked for bead alingment as well run out, couldn't define any issues, but when I noticed the weights all on one side, I started to wonder. Well, it's back on and we'll find out around noon today hopefully.
  2. Well, took a look at the tire this morning to see if was going in the right direction, yep it was, but then I noticed some wheel weights I hadn't noticed before, some stick on jobs, a full 8 of them all in a nice little row, stuck on the same side all together, along with this there were 2 clamp on weights a little further down, one on the one side of center and the other on the opposite side. I didn't like the looks of all that weight, specially all on the one side, so off came the tire and down to the dealers with some pepperettes(they work wonders) and I didn't buy the tire there. Anyways, they were super nice and on mech right away took the tire and put it on the balancer, weights and all. It was perfect. Then we removed all the weights, about 80 gr, unbeaded the tire, gave it a turn on the wheel and did a rebalance. Perfect balance with only 25 gr. I haven't had a chance to ride it just yet, but plan on that tomorrow, we let you know.
  3. If that were Charlie, everybody would like him:rotf:
  4. Good thoughts. I took off an Avon and replaced it with a new one, swing arm was done last year and is now greased with every oil change. Engine mounts are super tight, but I do not have the solid mounts. Thing is, I didn't have this problem last fall, but now have do, what changed???? and not only on my scoot, Waynes as well?????
  5. Now this is interesting. Wizard765 and I both had new Avons put on the rear of our scoot this spring. Wayne also had a new front tire mounted. The bike shop did the mounting and balancing. While riding at normal cruising speed of 90 to 110 kph all is well. It's when we get to 120 to 140 kpm that we both experince the same interesting problem. The bikes start to waddle, now notice I said WADDLE not wobble. It's not the same as with loose steering head bearings, I've had that as well and fixed it. This seems to be coming more from the back than from the front. The bike reacts as though it's being buffeted from riding behind a truck, but real steady. The tire is mounted correctly in the proper direction and runs true on the center stand. Pressure is at 42 lbs. Last night I tightened the steering head a little, now no bounce, and it improved somewhat at 120 kph, but at 140 it was not pretty and at 160 it was downright scary, but it didn't develope at all, if I held the speed steady the waddle didn't get worse and disappeared slowly as I slowed down. Any ideas?
  6. If it is better or cheaper to ship more than one in a package, we have a Meet & Greet here at the end of May and if that suits everyone, we could have them all shipped here and maybe put on the same day.

  9. Do we really want to know them?????? Maybe we could keep this private.
  10. Even the first gens will fall over sometimes, they are more nibble on their feet, but when they decide to take a rest, let 'em, it's much easier to pick them up, then to try to stop them from something they're going to do anyways. To pick it up??????? Back yourself up to the bike, put your butt into the edge of the seat, one hand on the handle bar, the other hand on something like a grab bar in the back, and now you just walk backwards pushing with your butt into the edge of the seat. Don't try lifting it, just push with your butt. Make sure that it's either in gear or that a brake is on if you are on a slope. It's that easy!!!!!!!
  11. Thanks Charlie, I've read it before, lots of times, and lots of times I realize how good we have it when we have all our utensils working. Hope to read it more times yet, because as of now I'm not near perfect, and can use all the help that's available.
  12. I'm not saying nuting!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd only be in deep kaka
  13. I've always found it hard to find neutral from first, I keep trying and sometimes I get lucky. Mostly it jumps to second and then from there I have better pressure contols with my foot to find neutral. In neutral all the gears are disengaged, separated, so that leave very little space for the gears, and so neutral is a very small spot in the shifting pattern, easy to jump from one to the other. It takes a loving touch to stop the shift in neutral, but often getting it out of first takes a manly pull with the upper part of the foot, and seeing as we use that action very little it's not all that controlled, pushing down with you're foot is used reguarily so can be a much better and lighter touch.
  14. Kind of like my thought. When I ride, who's got time for coffee? sometimes that's why I ride, coffee, ice cream, food, dessert, cheese cake, food, coffee, cheesecake. I ride for the pleasure of the ride, the destination, the company, meet new folks, the ride and when I need coffee???????somebody always needs to go P,,, so two birds with one stone,,,, now an ashtray??????????
  15. If I understand correctly, there are only two kinds of riders in the world, those who have dropped their scoots and those who will sometime drop their scoots. That being said, and now in your head, ride to learn and learn to ride. Each scoot has it's good points and it's more difficult issues. You are a human and so can learn to adjust to different situations. The bike is great, but the rider needs to become part of it to be able to master it. As said before, train for some time and you'll love it, but you will always have to respect it.
  16. Before you go to too much trouble, determine whether you really want the back mic to work, maybe silence is golden and you just know it yet. Other than that, I can be of no help.
  17. Really good thread, I'm keeping my eyes on this one. Thanks Mr. Newman
  18. Wow GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!!!must be work to do today!!!!!! If you break the shield it becomes useless, it needs to be continuous or it is no good and the wires will pickup static, the broken shield is probably worse than no shield at all.
  19. If you buy that, it looks like you'll be getting both front and back,,,,,,hummmm maybe 2 sets would be a good thing, one for you and one for some friend of yours??????????
  20. It was just checking out it's new owner to see what sort of an idiot it had to deal with. Now that it knows, it will try to do that more often just to keep you on your toes. Was it a male voice or a female voice that prompted you?
  21. Not my color, but the blonde owners will be somewhat jealous, really nice looking, enjoy.
  22. Anytime at all, no thanks needed, but is appreciated, other than for the folks who gave us this site and keep it fine tuned.
  23. Don't forget, the shifter linkage goes up, behind the stator cover, not down as it wants to do...
  24. If you are worried about it, while on the center stand, push on the rear brake and see if it stops, if it does than you're fine to go, if it rattles and and threatens to come apart and stop the engine, then your clutch is not disengaging properly and you will need to bleed it some more. Let us know how you make out.
  25. Canadian is better, because if you break one piece you only have to replace 1\2 of it, with the Rivco you have to replace the whole thing.
