    Actually I have been keeping my eyes open for a 1st Gen. If I can find one that I am drawn to I will jump on it. My main problem is that I don't have a suitable garage in which to work on any bike. Boomer.....who knows that adaption is the key to overcome any obstacle.

    Hey Earl.....If you have read much on this Site you should have noticed that there is a lot of joshing between the 1st and 2nd Genners. Nothing said was intended to be taken personal or insulting. Boomer.....who's not going to argue with anyone who has a washing machine complex..

    If you are buying NEW my advice is to have the Dealer do the preps (correctly as noted on this Site!) on the Venture before you pick it up! If you have a good Dealer he won't mind having his Tech's doing all the right things to keep you on the road and happy. Boomer........who hopes you have a good Dealer and you won't rush delivery of the scoot.

    Lowell ya might want to try doing leg exercises to strengthen the leg muscles and get the blood flow back up. Good luck and hope you fair well with the leg. Boomer.......who sez chasing pretty wimmen will be beneficial too.(Chasing the ugly one's won't help cuz they are slow....like the 1st Gens)

    Last year my Venture was doing exactly as you described. We discovered a weak coil was the problem. Found a wet plug on the right-side rear cylinder.Yamaha ate the Bill for the coil and a new plug too. Boomer.....who knows the Venture will still run like a scalded ape on 3 cylinders.

    Once you learn to keep the rev's up and stay away from 5th you will know why the Midnight Ventures are the fastest scoots on the road. If ya want gas economy buy a compact car or a 1st Gen warshing machine(Maytag Model # 666-ALL-SLOW)! Boomer.........who believes that lugging the Venture is why the 1st Gen Maytags come close to catching us.

    Try placing a hunk of sheepskin over that seat of yours.....as long as you are parked on top of it the wind can't blow it off. Boomer.........who also reccommends that you NOT park the scoot near any live sheep as they will try to kick yer a$$ for using one of their relatives in such a manner.

    I have yet to check the Rev Limiter on my Venture. Came close a few times but no ceegar yet. Boomer......who leaves em in the dust with 2nd and 3rd gear....and loves watching the rearviews for Harley parts hitting the road.

    Rick I have a set of the Baron's 1 1/2" Riser Extenders. If you think they will help give a shout. I bought them before I had the Butler Seat Mod done and never put em on the scoot cuz the Seat Mod did the trick for me. Boomer..........who really loves the Butler Seat Mod.

    I have seen just 1 Midnight Venture that has whitewalls and I wasn't impressed with the look it gave the scoot. Boomer........who has no intention of making his Midnight Venture look like a Pimp bike.

    David I thank you for your service Bro. I lost 2 buddies because they crawled into whiskey bottles and never got out of them. I can relate to that cuz it took the US Navy 8 years to get me out of the bottle.With many Nam Vets nothing a body could say or do to help them seemed to make a damn in getting them off the course of self destruction. IMHO the American people caused more deaths among Nam Vets than the actual results of combat. Anyone that don't agree with that should realize that 2/3 of the homeless people in this entire Country TODAY are Nam Vets. Nuff said.......... Boomer...........who's said enuff and needs to stifle some emotions now.

    I have to say with all respect that the only Hero's of a war are those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and now lie silent in their graves. Boomer........who was only a Hero to his little brother after pounding a local bully into the sidewalk.....and did it without a gun too.

    Rosebud if you PM me your brother's name I will do a shadow imprint of his name and send it to you. It would be my honor and no disposition to me in the least. (Many of us here are participating in providing Guard Duty for the Wall (around the clock) to prevent vandalism to the Wall.....I'm scheduled for a 6 hour night shift Friday night).
