  6. 60 ---9/1 First bike a Indian scout set for hill climbing (extended swing arm and knobbys)first ride had my girl on the back proceeded to drop it on gravel I stepped off, she did'nt, I don't remember her name but I bet she'll never forget mine (she just tore her pants and skinned a knee but I didn't know at the time a girl could get so mad )
  7. Just remember when you turn the head light doesn't follow you! that's a deal breaker for me
  8. I'm sure that to owm a wing is to love it BUT you said it right there "sport bike" I have no use for one there are a lot of nice rides out there ---Just not for me if I stepped on anyone toes I'm sorry I and only me feel that a wing is for the older rider the way a full sized caddy is for the older driver ( I know sterotypes ) BTW my type of bike is a Bagger so to ride a wing I'd be out of my elements with that said I don't think I'd like a Venture either I ride my RSTD more like a cruizer than a "touring bike" What I have said here is my personal opinion and we all now about opinion "They're like A _ _ _ _ _ _ s everyone has one and they all stink"
  9. it's sort of like owning a Rolls very nice - all the bells and whisles - but the fun is gone, you've got to the end and they give you a bike can stand up all by it self. the wing isn't a motorcycle it's a car with two wheels ok if that's what blows your hair back
  10. I'm just not old enough for a Wing yet. When I need those two little wheels that hold you upright at stop signs then it's time for a Wing:big-grin-emoticon:
  11. Absolutely Great!!! I miss the service 9 in the Army 12 in the Navy 21 great years!
  12. Thats still 208 per cheap I think not
  13. I stand corrected, for the headlight 50 is cheap for the lighting you get. what I was saying 416 for the piaa cross countries is NOT cheap! love to have the light, but no way I could justify spending that kind of money
  14. Cheap? for me thats a week take home better things to spent money on. west palm beach ? remember there are some of us that actually work for a living
  15. Check out price of those things, not in this boys world. 16. used repsol 4t until I got tired of paying for it switched to mobil 1 20 50 and it seems to have cut the whine a bit every dealer and servive tech I know swears by syn
  17. must be a cousin of Ride-now in Concord, NC $100.00 an hour shop rate and had a serviceman say they had to pay for the building some way (on the backs of the sevice customers) because the stuff out front is not badly priced

    Rules

I don't know if this has been posted before but I just recvered my copy and thought you might like the reading. Information to Ponder Counter Steering: If you push the left bar, the bike goes left. If you push the right bar, the bike goes right. That is, unless you keep pushing the right bar all the way, then you will probably go left while the bike swaps ends. Crashing: Remember riding isn't inherently dangerous...crashing is. The Sidelines: It's always better to be on the sidelines wishing you were on the track than on the track wishing you were on the sidelines. Fuel: The ONLY time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. The Rear Wheel: The rear wheel is just a big fan used to keep the rider cool and his butt relaxed. If in doubt... watch. When it locks up or slides out you can actually see the rider start sweating and pucker marks are left on the seat. Too Slow: No one has ever hit something too slow. Rides: A 'good' ride is one you can walk away from. A 'great' ride is one you can walk away from and use the bike again. Getting Hit: They can't hit you if you're not there. Mistakes: Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make all of them yourself. Traction: When traction is sparse, the probability of survival is inversely proportional to the angle of lean. Large angle of lean, small probability of survival and vice versa. Your Brain: Never let a motorcycle take you somewhere your brain didn't go five seconds earlier. Fog: Stay out of fog. The single red taillight you think is another rider ahead that you can catch, might be the red starboard light of a docked boat. Parking: Always try to keep the number of times you park the bike equal to the number of times you've ridden it. Luck & Experience: You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck Mirrors: If all you can see in your mirrors is the direction you were previously traveling intermingled with sparks, and all you can hear is commotion from the passenger riding pillion; things are not at all as they should be. Other Objects: In the ongoing battle between objects made of metal, rubber and plastic going dozens of miles per hour, and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose. Same holds for cars, trucks, walls and most animals. Draws don't count. Judgment: Good judgment comes from experience. Unfortunately, experience usually comes from bad judgment. Going Forward: It's always a good idea to keep the headlight end going forward as much as possible. Looking: Keep looking around. There's always something you've missed. Laws: Remember, gravity and centrifugal force are not just good ideas. They're laws not subject to repeal.
  19. Ugly as two hands full of what's up under a horse's tail
  20. Wife and I went to a Antique Motorcycle Ride-in (some were trailered but they had to be riden from where the trailers were parked to the viewing area) at Gold Hill, NC had a great time. For those of you around Charlotte you need to look up Gold Hill it's the best kept secret in NC Finished the day with a ride to Morrow Mountain just to suck up some pretty. posting a few pictures
  21. I have 3 phones on my plan behold (mine) blackberry (daug) g1 ( wife )all nice phones the bill 240 a month (highway robbery) plus really crappy service If you look at the prepaid deals out there some are really great The cell phone companies will never change until people stop buying the latest and greatest toy that hits the market. I can get the same service thru prepaid for under a hundred. So you people that want buy the hype and keep your expensive phones and long contracts I for one have had it with the cell phone companies ripoff plans
  22. Barefoot willies the one and only one I've had that works and lasts
  23. Thats just scary to know we share the road w/ those idiots
  24. nobody in washington has or will protect our borders, our school teach that what is happening in Arizona is unamerican ---- tell me what do you expect??????
  25. Incoming power sounds like your problem. You need to check to make sure your ground has not come loose also the neutral wire coming in from the street (you can do this visually or best call the power company)if it's loose crazy things happen! if it's happening with different things it's MOST likely the neutral coming in from the street
