  1. point is, in case you missed it ---- is it'll do just about as much good!!!!!!
  2. A hundred bucks for one of those things.wow!!! send me a hundred and I'll be sure to tell every deer I know to stay out of your way! you'll be just as protected and you'll have the satifaction of spending some money on your self-perservation
  3. The worst is people count on those fool things and bad things happen Loud pipes and bright lights do better but ain't nothing going to distract a buck hot on the trail of a doe so count on those things if you want but you'll have the chance of ending up like a buddy of mine not only hitting the deer but getting gored (that almost killed him) btw they move at sunset (good time to avoid country roads) but during rut luck only gets you through. and why spend money if you get no protection
  4. can you say LUCK --- cause it ain't the whistles that has kept them away, anyone that lives in deer country and knows the critters knows thoses whistles are a scam that do one thing well------- Seperate idiots from their money
  5. NOPEI just don't believe a wing is all that, I want a motorcycle not a car w/two wheels besldes at 60 I ain't old enouigh
  6. agree - when I bought a bike after a long break in riding had chance at a Valkyrie turned it down been kicking myself ever since
  7. A friend of mines wife bought one nicely equiped but ugly as two hand fulls of a******s. If I see someone on one I'd have to laugh ----- and point
  8. Warrenty did it and I will keep ya'll updated (sort of late in the season ) but next spring we're are riding!!!
  9. The I-basket is the greatest thing since sliced bread, the wife and I went for a 2hr ride today and it was so nice nice to actually here the engine. should have done it long ago
  10. At 20k my rear brake was worn out and took the rotor and the piston seals with it, now 15k later same happened (didn't lose the seals this time). Plus the pads wore differently inside was the one that wore out the quickest, outside pad looks new. My question is how often does everyone replace their pads on the rear (fronts are fine and I use them more than the rear). Is this kind of wear nomal? It looks like I'm going to have to every 10k to be on the safe side. Thoughts PLEASE
  11. no need to poke me I couldn't ride it, not after the Royal Star. It's way to small but the wife is happy so all is well
  12. 21k on it (but you can tell it's been taken care of) Wifes the third owner They let it go to pay some medical bills his wife has lupus
  13. To my wife any way, we picked up a ride for the wife tonite XLH1200 20k miles and couldn't have dreamed a better deal -- $3000 done and home. all it needs is fowards (after the Royal Star getting on a sportser feels sort of like a scooter) and more light up front. The wife is a novice so she'll be taking the beginners course first week next month wish her luck!
  14. heres the link to nada average retail: http://www.nadaguides.com/default.aspx?LI=1-23-38-5697-0-0-0&l=1&w=23&p=38&f=5698&m=1118&d=1200004120&y=1995&ml=H&z=28081&gc=MC&gtc=MC and this is a '95 (as far as theyd go back) $2,000 and youd be buying a MC w/ 46 HP think about what you've got on the ground BTW this bike is 24 years old Antique maybe? a deal --- I think not
  15. Very nice looking bike but "custom" ?
  16. I' had 4 sets of Metzler 880 on two different bikes wore out 2 sets punctured one rear and have a set on now ( 9k on them and plenty tread left)and they don't and never have looked like that. lucky maybe
  17. it wouldn't be-- probably bad luck (but tread pattern could be suspect) I not blaming Dunlop but why change the brand i'm using has given me good service and I've used them on both bikes
  18. had a pair dunlops 404 on my suzuki and tried a pair on my RSTD same thing happened with both neaqrly new and picked up a sheet rock screw in the front on the suzuki rear on the Yamaha maybe just bad luck but I won't have another pair.
  19. one word ------ no or better yet , not no but h311 no
  20. sorry to tell you but in every study I've read deer Whistles are nothing but a money grab. Deer are so unpredictable that even if they hear the sound who knows which they will run. Loud pipes help, lights are good but if a doe has a stag on her trail you'd better watch for two because they will come, whistle or not
  21. My last bike had pipes that would rock your world with a hand full of throttle (DG Hard Chrome 3" big straights) but I rode rode home at midnight after work and distrubed no one. When they start enforcing the noise laws against motorcycles I hope they also take care of the tuners with 1000 watt amps blasting Rap, hip-hop and for that matter CW!! noise is noise no matter where it comes from.
  22. I hear people here talk about having better than 100k on there bikes and never had to open them up well there might be a few Harley with that kind of record but I doubt many. Now I'm not bashing harleys, If your willing to pay two prices for one motorcycle I'd own one (road king I like the look) but a poor man got to work for a living and the toys have to last!!!
  23. I have Nationwide and love it free roadside assistance (used it twice) My bike is 32.17 a month couldn't find cheaper OR better anywhere
  24. Can't see owning a road glide when you make a turn and your headlight takes off in another direction (frame mounted fairings are not for me) plus same Harley problem 2 prices for one motorcycle. I don't know the HP rating of the RG but I bet my RSTD is as much or more
