  1. That's my wife and I at Bike Week. We were told about the picture by a friend of ours about a month ago. The wife will be tickled to know that it made it the forum.
  2. Thanks for the "heads up" about riding on wet pavement. A friend of mine had them on his 06 GW and said the same thing. I thought maybe it would be a little different on the RSV.
  3. I'm getting ready to change a back tire on my 07 RSV in about 2,000 more miles. I want to go with the Dunlop Elite 3 and was wondering what kind of mileage to expect. Or would I get more mileage out of an Avon?
  4. A friend of mine that has been riding HD Electroglides for year just sold his HD and bought a 2008 Wing and the only thing he didn't like about it was the foot pegs and no heel toe shifter. Easy fix, Kuryaken makes a Drivers floorboard and heel toe shift for the Wings. I did the install for him and it took all of about 30 min. to do. Best price I found for them is at www.wingstuff.com.
  5. I'll bet that leaves a mark!
  6. Has anyone had any experience with the Motion Pro Carb Sync tool? And how does it compare to the Morgan Carbtune ? I'm thinking about buying one. Also are will the 5mm adadpters work on 2nd Gen., or will I need to get the 6mm?
  7. The wife and I are riding down to Akron, Ohio Friday morning for an AA thing, but would like to know where you all are meeting up and maybe we can stop in and say HOWDY HI.
  8. I had Roadhouse fish tail slip ons on my 03 Roadstar. Liked the sound but I thought the chrome was cheap. Chrome started to pit after 1 season. Just my 2cents.
  9. I also have one of those. I bought it on e-bay from republiccycle.com. I think it was $54 with free shipping.
  10. My radio started acting up also. 2007 RSV, 3800 miles. Was going down the road, turned on the radio, and nothing, blank screen. Pulled off the road, turned ignition off and then back on, pushed radio on button, and radio came on. The last couple of days now when I first started the bike I turned on the radio and it came on so I turned it back off. Got going down the road, turned radio on and nothing again. Got to the corner, turned ignition off and then back on and radio started working again. It did it again this morning so I rode right over to the dealership and showed them. Wrench seemed to think it is in the ignition switch but he is going to call Yamaha Tech at Yamaha and see if they have seen this problem before. I'll keep you posted when I get an answer from the dealer.
  11. Has anyone else experienced this. I have an 07 RSV with 3800 miles on it. This problem just started over the weekend. As I was going down the road I tryed to turn on the radio and it wouldn't come on. Tryed the cb, same thing. It was like it wasn't getting power just a blank. So I pulled over, turned the ignition off and turned it back on and the radio worked. Since then it has done the same thing a few more times with the same results, Turn ignition off and back on and the radio works. Tryed wiggling the cable going to the radio and that didn't fix it. The only thing that works is to turn the bike off and then back on, press the on button and it works. Has anyone else had this problem? I'd like to give the dealership some type of direction to look, seeing that they don't work on too many of the Ventures. Any help is appreciated.
  12. Harbour Frieght sells an aluminum tri fold ramp that weighs about 20lbs. I have one that I used to use with my first trailer. It is very sturdy and is wide enough, when folded out, to have your feet down when loading. I think they cost around $100.
  13. I don't know if this will help you out or not, but is my experience with both types. I used to have a flat front, flat roof, single axle 10x6 inclosed trailer then sold it and bought a 14x7 V nosed, rounded roof, double axle. Even with the extra weight of the 14x7,and the extra height, it pulls just about the same. You can tell there is extra weight there, but still pulls the same. As far as mpg, I haven't really checked but I would say it's about the same. Hope that helped you out.
  14. Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to use the DOT 3. The wife isn't that aggressive of a rider so it should do fine.
  15. What is the difference between DOT3 and DOT4 brake fluid? I want to change the clutch fluid on my wifes 99 RSTD, and I have an almost full bottle of DOT3 in the garage. Can I use it instead of DOT4?
  16. Utopia here also. Easy install, and matches the Pillow Top seat. Infact I had a guy ask me yesterday if it came with the bike. As far as shipping goes, on the date they said it would be built and shipped on their web page, it was at my door.
  17. Got mine in the mail today. Looks great.
  18. Ordered mine yesterday.
  19. I think the club that I belong to is going for a ride today, Saturday. We have our monthly meeting this morning, and then will leave Flint around noon. It's supposed to be a nice day..
  20. That's the one I just bought while I was at Bike Week. It works great.
  21. It looks like you just sit on it to keep it in place. Is this correct? And would it fit a 99 RSTD?
  22. I know that the earlier RSTD is different. It is not an air shock. My wife rides a 99 TD and the rear shock is mounted different also.
  23. Where's your Gun Show being held at?
  24. From what I can see they are the same mounting bracket for the kick stand. They look the same and are the same part number.
  25. Wife and I will be there. Leaving Michigan on the 28th and should be there sometime on the 29th. Trailering the bikes down and will be staying at a friends place outside of Bunnell.
