  1. Yea, I was talking with a co-worker this morning about the sad state of affairs our country is in these days. We have kids that don't respect authority and other people's property. It's not "genetics", it is a choice that is made. You hear in the media all the time when somebody does something real bad or perverted - you hear, well they had a bad past, they were molested as a child, etc, etc. In other words, they're not accountable, it's not their fault, etc. All our choices have consequences, some good some bad. But now-a-days, no one wants to be held accountable. It is in the raising. We have two generations out there whose parents, for the most part (there's always exceptions), that did not disipline their children and look where we are - the proof's in the pudding.
  2. Maybe it's not bragging, but only "dreaming"?? :rotfl::stirthepot:
  3. Good for you Steve!! Stay safe and enjoy!! Know how you feel, my wife loves riding.
  4. Jim, I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving - as much as possible being over there. Thanks for what you're doing for the home folks back here. We'll be praying for you safety.
  5. Don't know how bad you miss that hi-speed thing till it goes out!! Have a great Thanksgiving.
  6. One puts you in never-never-land wondering how you got there, the other makes you wish you were!! :rotf:
  7. If you can't find it, you might have to get one of those carbon monoxide detectors we used in airplanes and put it on your instrument panel. Don't want you passing out going down the road!! :rotf:
  8. You're getting the right advice from these guys. Don't be too hasty. You need to make "very" sure your leg is going to be OK. Ask the Doc about the chance of problems 10 yrs from now. Arthritius, etc. Injuries have a way of coming back to "haunt" you down the road. Good luck Dude!!

  10. Well, TrainMaster, I'm waiting. :rotf:
  11. Cindy, When you get the opportunity to talk to the manager, review how, because you cared, you tried to get in contact with the other employee about the mixup. Also, remind them in detail about your work ethic/history with them...as you stated it here. Also, try to stay out of the personal and focus on the problem. A good reliable employee is not easy to find and if those managers have any gumption, they'll know this. When you get past this issue, and you continue to have frustrations with the job, start looking. It is always easier to find a job when you have one. Good luck!
  12. What happened? Tennis shoe have a high speed blowout!! :rotf:
  13. Never did any ice fishing. Kind of hard to get the thermostat that low in Alabama. :rotf:
  14. Much talk has taken place here lately about the danger of hitting dear. Rightly so and we should certainly take it to heart. However, a friend and I were riding to Florence, AL from Decatur this past Saturday evening to watch a football game and encounted another hazard, maybe not as dangerous, but certainly not anything you would want to happen. My friend was in the lead, in the right lane when I noticed a hawk in the median of the divided four lane. As he approached it, it took off across the highway in front of him about 2 feet high. He did not see it, until, to avoid a collision, the hawk went verticle right in front of his windshield just missing the top of his helmet. It seemed the hawk then stalled and the turbulance from bike cause it to sink, this time in front of me - at least I was seeing this unfold and swerved to avoid a collision. A 2 to 3 lb bird with a 3 to 4 ft wing span in you face would certainly mess up your day. Food for thought!!
  15. All my elves are on strike!!! :crying:
  16. Well how about the "clicking wheel"! (We'll see how many know what that is).
  17. Good luck! I've found that if you get high enough up the ladder the "picture" changes dramatically. Looks like you're on to something!
  18. That's so cool!!! Have you seen the one with the guy in a similiar suit with a rocket motor attached to it? It is incredible!!
  19. I get them all the time. Best thing to remember, if it is to your personal email, regard it suspuciously. If it is legitimate, it will be in your "Messages" in your "My Ebay", if it is not there, it is more than likely a "phish". You can always forward it to spoof@ebay.com and they will reply to you and let you know if it is indeed a fake. Those guys can be very good at duplicating an ebay page - so be careful!
  20. Good luck to you on quitting. When I quit, there was no patches, pills, etc. But I just decided one day that enough was enough. When I resolved myself mentally to quitting, the rest was tough but I had that determination going for me, which I think, made it somewhat easier. Come up with some mental thing to focus on when you have the urge to light one up. For me, I used the passion of flying and would go the the mental process of setting up for landing and go through the whole procedure. The minute or so it took diverted the mental desire for a smoke. It helped tremendously. Each time I did this, it made the next time a little easier to overcome. Best of luck!!
  21. So very sorry!! Will be praying for you Gary.
  22. That's pretty neat! I did not know there was anything out there like this. I checked Alabama and looked to see if the small towns we know as speedtraps were listed and sure enough, they were all there. Good info.
