Get a copy of the recent version of Ride Like A Pro DVD. Practice what is demonstrated. Click HERE to go there.

These bikes are not any more top heavy than any other bike. ALL bikes by design are top heavy. Get off a bike, don't put the kick stand down, and let go and ALL bikes will fall over, so therefore all bikes are top heavy....... HOWEVER the RSV and tour deluxe do have a comparatively long wheel base and the rake/trail of the front end is set up for highway speeds, more than the H-D ultra classic. so with that said, compared to most bikes on the market, you will have to lean the bike more to make it U turn............ I recommend buying a copy of the current version of Ride Like a Pro DVD and PRACTICE what is demonstrated on the DVD. BTW the owners manual for my 2007 RSV on page 9-1 states the minimum turning radius is 35000mm (137.8 in) which is 11.4833333 feet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a lot tighter than I am currently able to turn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but with practice I hope to get down to under 14 feet.

What is the model number of the amp??? If you had that, you could probably go to the manufactures web site and download an installation manual.

Take the easily packable one of these as you will probably not find anything that packs smaller: http://www.ecdlcentar.com/forum/files/visacard_312.jpg To an inexpensive (waterproof) place like this: http://images.channels.nl/images/hotel/org/174/1744228.jpg and that is what I would call camping Seriously, that is what I call camping.

OK First of the DA Questions Oil Filter Xross
KiteSquid replied to kj5ix's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I would get the same answer, but make SURE when you install it........ -
the one that comes with the 765T is like this the lump in the middle of the cable is a FM reciver that gets "lifetime traffic" but they cost about $119 from Garmin. for that price, I will just buy two GPS units..... ¹Lifetime traffic extends for the useful life of your Garmin traffic receiver (as long as you own a compatible Garmin GPS) or as long as Garmin receives traffic data from its traffic supplier, whichever is shorter. Traffic content not available for all areas. See http://www.navteq.com/rdstraffic for traffic coverage areas and http://www.garmin.com/traffic/fm/navteq.html for program License Agreement containing complete terms and conditions.

For a more compete list click HERE you want someting from Group 5 Some members here use the 3.25" filters but I use the 2.5" long filter as it is MUCH easyer vor me to install and remove. -
The height of the rider is unimprtant. The rider's inseam is important. I have a 36" inseam and have no problems with this bike.

Darksider????? To stay truly on the Dark Side, you REALLY need the Frantz oil filter. Darth Maul told me so. http://www.frantzoil.com/t/Frantz/tn_PolishedSScoveronly.jpg Click HERE to check out their website.

I went to Fram's and Purolator's websites and compared the claims on how well they clean. Fram states 99% efficent Honeywell testing of filter efficiency and capacity of models equivalent to TG8A, 3387A and 6607 under ISO 4548-12 for particles > 20 microns. Purolator states Purolator PureONE Oil Filters are 99.9% Efficient Based on ISO 4548-12 at 20 microns on PL30001 So the PureONE filteres stop more particles (by a very small margin of 0.9%) Technically the PureONE filters better but now I need to research the price difference of the two filters...... I might switch over to the Fram Tough Guard. Update, locally the PureONE filter is $6.49 while the Fram Tough Guard filter is $5.49....... $1 less. I like the fully textured can on the PureONE filters but the color of the can is weird on these bikes, so I remove the sticker and paint them flat black with some high temperature paint from a rattle can.....
-
It looks like the Fram Tough Guard filter #7317 is specified for the Yamaha FJR1300 from 2003 - 2008 model years. Also it is a type "5" filter on the list HERE so according to that list it should work however I am NOT making this recommendation as it does NOT filter as well as the Purolator Pure One PL14612 (2.5" tall) or Purolator Pure One PL14610 (3.25" tall) which is what I use.

The low fuel light comes on before I have to switch over to reserve. I have ridden 30 miles on reserve. BTW it is good idea to run the bike on reserve from time to time to get the junk from out of the bottom of the tank......

I have been eyeing the Valkyrie Interstate for a while. One down side is you need a 13 year old to teach you how to operate the sound system. But they do have a bit more power than the RSV. For a good RSV to Valkyrie Interstate to Harley Davidson Ultra Classic comparison read THIS article. I might wait to see what the 3rd Gen Venture looks like.
