  1. Do you work for General Motors?
  2. A friend of mine is the service writer at Smith Powersports in Hayesville NC. Someone brought in a 1st Gen venture as a trade in. Not sure what year or what condition it's in but it can probably be had for a grand or less if you act before they take it to the auction. Here's contact info for Smith powersports. http://yp.yahoo.com/py/ypMap.py?tuid=F-YPC-21852471-139662052-C&tcat=25992823&city=Hayesville&state=NC&zip=28904&uzip=28904&msa=0000&slt=35.045872&sln=-83.817146&cs=5&fb=1&stat=:pos:0:fb:regT:0:fbT:1
  3. Congrats on the new bikes!
  4. The Star accessories site says STR-4NK27-03-01 is good for 99-09 RSV and they look just like the one you bought. I'm not at home so I can't go out and look at my stock backing plates.
  5. As far as a carb synch goes you can save time and money doing it yourself whether your dealers service is competent or not. BTW the order in which to synch the carbs in the Yammie manual is wrong.
  6. I've had good and bad experiences with the same dealer. It seems to be a crap shoot so now if I can do it myself I do.
  7. Welcome to the U.S.A.! Have a great time and ride safe!
  8. As Blackjack said, the modulator is a tool, it helps get you noticed. Your helmet, boots and gear are tools they perform a funtion but they are only of real use if you crash, after the fact. They keep your brains in your skull and your skin on your bones. A modulator is proactive. It can help keep you out of a crash in the first place. However your number one piece of safety gear is (or should be) between your ears.
  9. Seems like most if not all of the opinions against the modulators are from riders who have never used one.
  10. I could not count the times I have had cars start to pull out of driveways, side streets and parking lots only to pull up short and stop. I'm convinced it's due in large part to the modulator. It only takes one time to end your life. If some people are annoyed by it, that's their problem. Unlike loud pipes they don't annoy everyone within a quarter mile.
  11. Did you check the connection on your helmet speaker? On the Edsets they are modular and can unpluged seperately.
  12. Well duh, I guess there is no right to left balance control:doh:! I think I would check the connection in the left lower fairing. It's a telephone style plug in I believe. Take it apart , apply some dielectric grease and reconnect. See if that helps. If not do the same with the connectors is the upper fairing.
  13. I assume your talking about an RSV audio system? Have you checked the balance setting on your audio control?
  14. I understand that the tube in the petcock that feeds the reverve can come loose in the tank and as a result, the reserve stops working. You may want to drain your tank, remove the petcock and examine it.
  15. PVC pipe works well.
  16. Sheryl and I will be there! We'll be staying at the house and riding back and forth. I just printed out a registration form and will be getting it to you. We're looking forward to it!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
  17. We have the full set of saddlebag liners, trunk liner and rack bag. Exact same as the yammie but half price. They come in real handy on trips. http://www.bestemusa.com/index.php?cPath=8_71&osCsid=e2b0680edeb0a505f3688f05fc9006bd
  18. I wear these on long rides. They're great! http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/Aerostich-Riding-Shorts-p-16554.html
  19. Darwin was right!
  20. Big Brother is watching!

  22. Well then pretty soon we won't be able to talk about anything, except maybe the weather with the gov't moving into every aspect of our lives.
  23. Congrats! Wanna race?
  24. I believe it's just an H4 Siverstar.-Jack
  25. I concur with Jerry. The older Royals are geared very high, higher than the RSV and newer Tour deluxe. I have a 97 RSTC and a 07 RSV. Try winding it out more. Don't even think about 5th gear till you hit 70mph. Good advice on the carb synch also.-Jack
