  1. :confused24:Can I make a route on google map and transfer it to my Zumo? If so are there any EASY instructions that a feeble minded man can understand.
  2. Has anyone found a way to connect a bluetooth telephone to the sound system on a RSV without using a Zumo 550? While I use a Zumo, my brother just bought a RSV and would like to have access to his telephone but has no interest in a GPS. Is there a way? Dennis
  3. I had to modify my Zumo 550 car adapter for my wife's car for her trip a couple months ago. (to fit in her flower holder in her bug) What I was wanting to know is there anybody out there that will never use there Zumo 550 Car adapter and would want to sell it? Needing a none modified one for my truck. If so give me a shout! Thanks, Jeff
  4. I have read the threads I could find so far.. but I notice a few have said theirs clicks when they hook up before their passenger. But once the passenger hooks up it goes away. That is my problem. And seeing I ride solo a fair amount but still want to be able to use the CB and my cell phone (through the Zumo) but the clicking is driving me crazy. Anyone come up with a easy solution to this? Or will I need to completely shield the cabling back to the passenger connection?
  5. I was hoping someone could answer my questions about XM reception in Canada. I am about to purchase a Zumo 550 from Radioworld in Toronto. I will likely get the XM puck as well so I can have satelite radio and XM weather. Has anyone had experience with Radioworld? There price seems fair and they have everthing I need in stock. Does anyone have the XM weather/traffic option in Canada? Does it meet your expectations and work in Canada? Jim
  6. What wireing will in need to patch my intercom headset to the Zumo. I have looked at some units on line but i'm not sure whats what.
  7. Is there a trick to getting the zumo to pick up the contacts from my phone? I have deleted the connections several times and can not get the contacts or the call history to work on the zumo. On 2 occasions after parking the bike, removing the zumo and coming inside the house I noticed a message on the phone saying the zumo wants to download my contacts, but I can not get it to do this while i am actually trying. Thanks, Jim
  8. I have a Zumo 550, used it today, disconnected it and when I plugged it in to return home, it would not turn on. Have tried charging it and nothing happens. Battery was at a full charge when it was turned off. This happened once before right after I bought it, took it back to Best Buy, they got it working but wouldn't tell me what they did to get it working again. Has anybody else had this problem. It is only one year old 5/25.
  9. Got a Nuvi 885 forsale, used very little,,, reason: I aquired a Zumo 660 by accident so I'm going to keep the Zumo. If anybody is interested let me know. $300.00cdn
  10. Hi guys n gals: I'm thinking of getting the Zumo 550 and am also considering an iPhone. Has anyone got this combo? Does the iPhone Bluetooth sync up with the Zumo? Can you answer a call if you need to? Wayne
  11. I was hoping for some some help from the Zumo crowd. We are on our first trip with our Zumo 550 and realized today that it is not saying the street name when giving directions. It simply says turn right/left in so many miles/feet. I thought it was supposed to say the street names and beleive it actually did when I first got it. I have done an update to get the 2010 software. Did I loose this function when I did the update or is there a setting I can change. I have been all through this thing and cant find how to change a setting to restore this function. Does it exist? JR
  12. Is anybody using the Zumo 660 with the BuddyRich cable and BT phone? Are you getting good results being heard on the other end when talking on the phone? For the record, folks in the Zumo forum are reporting weak voice under different configurations. This is NOT a problem with the BuddyRich cable. I am getting weak voice myself and looking for feedback from other Venture owners. Cheers!
  13. Are all of these work together? I have just purchased the Zumo and ordered the buddyrich cable to use with te cell phone. I was considering the mic-mutes before going to the rally this year, but I want to make sure the I can still use the Mic-Mutes with the buddy rich cable.
  14. How do I change the 'desk top' (face) on my zumo 550 ?? I loaded pics to the zumo but can't find a way to change the 'desk top':bang head:
  15. I know some retailers have the new Zumo 660. Most that have them in stock are asking retail $799.99. I found several stores with the 660 listed for around $650 but not shipping till July. I hate to pay the hefty price tag of over $600 for this thing but...I sure hate to pay the full retail of 799.99. Where is a good deal on a Zumo 660 NOW without paying that gosh awful full retail price and some even make you pay shipping. Help! Wife is gonna kill me if I sink whats left of my retirement into a Zumo 660.
  16. Is the RSV windshield flat enough to use the suction cup mount for my Zumo? Thanks! James
  17. Just wondering if anybody here has tried shortening the cable for the Zumo XM unit? I wish it was only about 12" long. Even in my car, I sit it on the dash right under the windshield mount for the unit. A 12" cable would be plenty.
  18. Looks like shipping starts 04/09 http://www.zumoforums.com/index.php?topic=7712.0 http://www.zumoforums.com/index.php?action=forum [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpP_iV7vbs8]YouTube - Garmin Zumo 660 at CES[/ame] Well at least I have had my 550 about 2 years now.. 550's should drop like a rock pretty soon. 660 looks great though... Ummmmmmmmmmm Better pixals ect... Jeff
  19. I have read a lot about the Garmin Zumo 550. Has anyone used the Tom Tom Rider 2?
  20. OK folks, when I activated my Zumo XM, I went with the traffic and the weather package. I understand though that basic weather comes with the traffic. So what is the difference between basic weather and the full blown one that I subscribed to? I paid for 3 months but may want to drop the advanced weather next time.
  21. As you are all contemplating the purchase of a zumo 550, please keep in mind that the bluetooth portion is for the cell phone connection. It does NOT give STEREO output for the MP3 player. The only way to get stereo is out of the hardwire plug. Now, the new Zumo 660 will support stereo sound over bluetooth. However, the 660 does not have XM capability. Also, I don't believe the 550 will support 2 connections over bluetooth at the same time. So, riding 2 up would force 1 person to be in silence unless the helmet of 1 would rebroadcast to another. JB
  22. OK....this new Zumo 550 has really complicated my life. It has caused me to have to make more decisions and I'm tired of making decisions. So here is the latest dilemma. I presently have a Sirius radio. I actually have three of them. One in the house, one in my wife's car and one that I move back and forth between the bike and my work car. It makes no sense to me to pay for a fourth subscription to have different ones on the bike and my work car as I only use one of them at a time. I like the idea though of having the GPS, MP3 and Satellite radio in one unit and therefore not having my IPOD, Sirius AND the GPS until all cluttering up my handlebars. I've already found out that even though Sirius and XM are now the same company, they will not let you add an XM subscription to your Sirius account and therefore get it at the reduced rate. So...I would have to get a new XM account to use the XM for the Garmin. Then I would want to cancel the Sirius account for my car/bike but then would not have a unit for my work car. So..after all this...I guess my question is has anybody tried using the Zumo with the XM receiver in a car? Will the antenna pick up the stations if it is on the dash or somewhere in the car? This is ALL so dang confusing.
  23. I have just finished something that I thought I would every do. I split the faring on the Venture all by myself and put in the spliter to the AUX plug. I also took off the gas tank and ran the wires to the new Zumo 550 that Santa left me. I would never had tried this but with the instruction that Squidley posted on how to split the faring and install the splitter, it was a success. I also want to Thank Eck for putting up with all my p-mails about how to use and set up the Zumo. I am very glad that I found this site in December 2005. I have attended 2 maintenance days and already have reservations for this year. I may be rambling but you don't know how much this site means to me. I don't post alot but I visit daily. THANK YOU ALL,
  24. OK For the more Electronic whizs can you download the VentureRider Members List onto an SD card and if needed put it in your Zumo 550 when needed to get to the Members list? Since it will do the picture thing I was just wondering if this is possible?Tom
  25. After reading the post on the POI's I went to the factory POI'S site downloaded the Yamaha dealers When I open my Zumo it says Found new files do you want to manage now. I push yes and then it gives me the only option to bring them in to my favorites . I know that is not were they should go . I have downloaded the Garmin POI loader. Its on my C drive on my computer and tried to send it to the Zumo and once again the only choice is to bring it in to my Favorites Does anyone have a suggestion . Thanks:bang head:
