  1. Is there any interest in another order of the 09 International rally T's? If there are enough interested to offer them at the same price they sold for, for the rally I will place another order........ I have absolutely none left from the rally to sell....but someone was interested in the possibility of getting some more...... so please make a post in this thread if you would like to order some more and how many......they were $12 each plus shipping costs...... I will let this run for a week or so and if we get enough interest i will then take the colors and sizes and payments..... probably offer the same colors as we had for the rally.....black, grey, white, blue, paprika, salmon, green, red, yellow.
  2. Ok, I've changed the oil in the bike (not the filter) as I will be doing this once again next week when I install the new clutch kit coming in.. The book states that without changing the filter, the bike will take 3.5 litres of oil.. 3.7 litres if you change the filter.. (page 7-15 owners manual) And just like the last time, I've drained the oil out, removed the filler plug, bike is upright, hot engine, I even go as far as leaning it side to side to get the last of the old oil out and I just put in 3 litres of oil.. and the level is right at the top of the sight glass.. I actually had to drain a tad out to bring it to within specs.. Seems to me I'm not getting a full draining of the old oil out of the bike.. by half a litre.. might not seem like a lot but it's got me wondering where and why it's not emptying out properly... Or is this more of the norm then? Just curious, bike's been performing superb since the new fuel pump, new coils and new switches in PA the other week Cheers
  3. has anybody checked the weather lately ? the weather station just gave a long range forecast and it looks like Ana will be in this area next week end better not !!! what am i worried about those guys are never rite . Thom
  4. Here are the pics from my vacation last week. I just got back from a week in British Columbia in and around the Kelowna and Okanagon areas. It was great, in the mid 30's most days (90's f) but there was quite a bit of smoke around from the fires in the area as it has been so dry. We visited wineries and spent most of the time at friends place just being beach bums. We rented a Street Glide for a day to see the area and I just hated it, slow,... soft, spongy forks, and very small seating area for Deb and I. It did have a great stereo though. http://picasaweb.google.ca/friesman1/LakeKalkamalkaBC Brian
  5. just, wanted to thank the one who made this rally and all the meets we have possible. none of us would be together without don. had a great time with him and Eileen this week. two fine people. don hope the new addition to your family works out for you and Eileen. :clap2::clap2:
  6. Several months ago I bought a Rampage lift so that I could take the Venture and the camper to the Grand Canyon this year. I had a couple set backs with my right knee replacement and haven't been able to try it out until this past week. Attached are a few pics of the lift in action and the end result. This is one darn nice unit and really is a one man operation.
  7. If you recall earlier posts I totaled a 87 VR just over a year ago. Troubled myself over what to buy as a replacement, which ended up being a 09 red hot sunglo Harley Ultra Classic. I am enjoying the bike and have logged 2600 miles since June 9th. But I missed the last VR gathering! So, guess what followed my home this past week? A new to me 89 Blue Venture Royale with 38,000 miles. Needs some cleaning, adjusting, and of course a little help from my friends. That being said, I'm back! Hope to see ya on the road..... Regards Dave
  8. Monday I had my Kumho installed on the bike, rode home and was working on a 6' ladder, made a misstep off the ladder and really caused myself some pain Well, that shut down riding for all of this week even tho we had some really nice weather. Monday I go in for a cataract removal in my right eye. There goes another week or so of being grounded Hopefully in another 10 days or so I'll be able to give the Kumho a good tryout. Almost forgot, a good thing has come of it all. I ordered side reflector/led"s for the front and rear. Got plenty of time to mount and get them fitted right.
  9. Hey Guys, Well I'm back home for a while after taking off for a week to attend Don's work day and 10 days to take a group up to Spearfish and the Black Hills and back. In fact Linda says I'm grounded for a while but we are planning on taking off for a few days to ride over to the Hub in Arkansas in August. So if you can give up your seat for just one weekend and get it to me early in the week, then I can have your seat (s) reworked and back to you within a week. My time takes less than a day, where the transit time getting it to me and returned takes up the most time. Just drop me an e-mail to Rick_Butler@verizon.net to let me know if I can help you out, Rick
  10. Cabin 19 should be available at Vogel. I had it reserved for Thursday,Friday, and Saturday nights.Circumstances have changed and were doing a family outing that week. Have fun whoever gets it.
  11. I went out to carbtune my carbs. I got it tuned and noticed one of my carbs is leaking gas. I took them off and took the float bowl off the one that was leaking. The gasket was pinched into in four places. I know it will take a week or longer to get a new one in. My question is there anything I can put on the gasket to seal it until I get a new one in because of course it is suppose to be warm this week. thanks tim
  12. Anyone thinkin of going to Oklahoma Bike week? http://sparksamerica.com/bike_week.htm
  13. All; Up until this week, I used the CB at least once a week. Yesterday, I turned on the CB and pressed the "push to talk" button/switch. Anyway...nothing..Tried several times...still nothing... Pulled into a parking lot, got off the bike, and pushed the passenger "push to talk"...worked as expected. So it appears that the driver's CB talk switch is "broken"? Short of taking the bike in for warranty work on the switch, is there anything else I should try?
  14. Hey all, just a general notice, that some of us Ontario Members will be heading to Deals Gap, on a 4-5 day road trip, Sept 21. As of right now, it is Dragerman, Rob (forget his forum nick) and myself. This trip will be during the week (Monday to Thursday or Friday) as it was suggested that it is better to ride the Tail of the Dragon, during the week. In September most of the kids will be back in school, so tourists will be at a minimum. This trip is in the very first stages of planning. I am announcing it, for 2 reasons, to find out if anyone wants to come with us (or meet up with us along the way) and to get suggestions from some of the members here who have been there. I am really looking forward to this trip. I am sure before we go, we will get together to discuss the trip in detail, and finalize plans. Ok, so who is interested? Being interested does not commit you to the trip. Once we figure out some meets to do planning, I will announce them. I would be happy if there were 6-8 bikes going, the more the merrier I guess. Feel free to drop Dragerman, or myself an email or PM. Lets git 'er done!
  15. Well I go for my MRI today to see if I need surgery on my right shoulder I think my summer riding is over.I pray that I will be able to ride back to the Blue Ridge Parkway Labor day week.
  16. I own a 2006 RSV(Black Cherry) and have a electrical drain problem that has plaqued me for several months now. The bike has been to the local dealership four times over the past few monthes for this issue but nothing has been found???? The 1st time in the shop they said it was just a bad battery (2 yrs.old) and charged me over $100 for new battery and labor. Less than two weeks later it was totally dead again. Back to the shop and they kept it almost 2 weeks with a volt/ohm meter hooked up to it. Nothing found, they said it might have been a bad battery and gave me another one at no charge. A few weeks later the same scenario.................... Went to ride and nothing, no juice???? Back to the shop for another week and nothing was found to be at fault. They charged the battery and left it hooked up for a week with no drain????? I spent last week in the mountains in and around Tellico Plains, Tn (The Snake, The Devil's Triangle, The Dragon and Wayah Road) I took my Suzuki Boulevard C90 on this trip as it it lighter and really handles the twisties much better. Anyway, upon returning home I went to clean the RSV and turn the key and................................... Nothing! My volt meter read 3.5 volts. I monitor this forum daily and believe that the knowledge and expertise is truly right here to resolve this puzzle. I plan a 6000 trip to Montana in July and do not want to take the RSV unless this problem can be fixed. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation and shed some light on the fix????? Help ! Bugsplat
  17. Friday the co-pilot and I are heading up to Northern Utah on Quicksilver - spending the week at Snowbird and riding out each day from there. Anybody else gonna be around in Utah during the week of May 17-23? It'd be great to meet up and say howdy if schedules happen to cross. We haven't made any specific plans yet beyond getting there Saturday night and departing the following Saturday morning. We'll probably be covering any interesting side roads we can find within about 400 miles of Salt Lake City all week long. Ride safe! Goose
  18. this is my official apology to any members who were looking at craig,s list for bikes. i found a 2003 RSV w/9005 miles, two tone gold&maroon, brand new rubber and runs like a dream for $5,500. i know it was being looked at so i sent him $500 before i saw it in person{ sometimes you just gotta close your eyes and jump} bottom line, me and renate took the bus to mississippi{26 HOURS} got the bike, and had a great week riding back thru the ozarks, a day in branson, another at osage beach, then home. stopped in waterloo ia at the isle casino and renate walked out with more than our weeks expenditure,s. we,re back now with our new bike and now that i think about it, i,m not that sorry. see you on the road. al and renate
  19. since my crash in Aug. 29- 08. Got me a 2009 V star Tourer last monday. Looked at for a whole week before getting enought nerve to get on and try it. This morning was a super nice day, so I put on a heavey pair of wool sockes cause I was getting cold feet. After1/2 a block I was good to go. Went for a 120 mile ride, man did that feel good. Suppose to rain all next week. Now that I know that I can handle it can't wait to go again. Ride safe Bob.:big-grin-emoticon:
  20. While adding Dyna Beads to my tires this evening I noticed a small cut in my front tire (after adding the beads). I'm leaving next week on a week long trip and I am debating on whether I need to change the tire before I go or not. The tire has less than 2,000 miles on it. The cut is about 1/2 the depth of the tread at the tread and then taper up to nothing at the other end. The cut is clean and there is nothing in it. Attached are a couple of photos of the tire to show the cut and the scale. I'm seeking other opinions. Would you ride on it or not? Dennis
  21. I have a 06 RSTD that is running a little funny and I want to get the Morgan Carbtune to Sync the carbs, Any help with what extras are needed?? Not a bad price this week so I want to move on it before the $ gets all wacked up... Also any links to make the job easier would help

See ya.
  23. Does anyone know where I can purchase a clamp-on tachometer? I know a lot of websites sell the Electronic Specialties 325 - but I am trying to get away from duties and brokerage fees and would perhaps like to pick one up when I am down in Buffalo, NY later this week. Are they available anywhere in Canada? I haven't been able to find them anywhere up north here.
