I originally posted this in the Trike/Sidecar section, but only got one response. So, I'll ask it here. "Anybody out there using a car tire on an RSV with a Voyager trike kit on it? I spoke to my local Voyager dealer today, and he suggested that it might make the Voyager ride too hard, and/or bounce too much? Anyone heard of this being a problem? I have an 11 year old son who is wheel chair bound, but he LOVES to ride the RSV. However, he has gotten too big (5'10" tall and 190 lbs!), as have I, (240 lbs) for the recommended max weight, according to Yamaha. I ordered my Voyager trike kit today, and thought it might be a good time to switch to the car tire to get the extra mileage, since lean will no longer be an issue. But the Voyager dealer strongly recommended against it. Any and all comments would be welcome." Thanks. Don from PA

Thursday night going to work, a 2009 pulled onto the road right behind me and we were together about 8 miles. Then Friday evening, saw a midnight southbound on I65 around Seymour, IN. Saturday, my wife and I went to Austin's in Louisville for dinner. When we came out, there sat a Silver RSV with the license plate "CHESER" Sunday morning after church, saw a canary yellow RSV trike in Jeffersonville, IN. I made up some "cards" with the VentureRider.org logo on the upper left of the page. Anyone got a businees style card for the site I can print off?

I have been taking inventory of a collection of parts I have stacked up over the years, and think I have most of the makings to build my own trike. My problem is that the engine I want to use has a chain drive, and I'm at a loss as to how to attach a chain drive to a car rearend. Then Wallllllaaaa!!! Rottdoglover states in another thread that he has done just that. How??? All ideas and instructions entertained.

I have an 83 sitting around, and last weekend I ran into an old friend who has an old VW microbus in the back yard with a 1600. How do ya suppose a VR/VW trike would look? Who do ya suppose you would talk to to make the fiberglass bodywork? I wonder how I could run the shift linkage.

Just to let everyone now, a friend of mine is selling his 1999 GoldWing trike and custom trailer. It has just over 50K miles and also has the easy steer. This Wing is white in color and it is in excellent condition. He is asking $22.5K for both pieces. The custom trailer is about a year old and looks like a small horse trailer. It is also white with a lot of chrome. It is very sharp. He has over $5K invested but would take $4K for trailer alone. I'll try to get a few pics and post it in the classified shortly. Anyone interested just shoot me a PM and I'll get pics and more info to you quickly.

Looking for some opinions on using a c/t on the front of my trike. The contact patch on the front tire now is about 1 3/4 inches either side of center or about 3.5 inches overall. One thing I was wondering about would be the effects on the c/t sidewalls being on the front.

We picked up my trike from Hannigan on the 26th but didn't get home until late saturday. Today was the first chance to get it out and shake it down. I think I am really going to like it. Thanks to all for the advice when I was considering doing this. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/gunnybutch/P1010001-2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/gunnybutch/P1010002-2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/gunnybutch/P1010003-2.jpg

What rearends are a good choice to build a trike with out of a 1st gen? What gear ratio? What are the pros and cons to a trike as apposed to a hack?

Just gatta remember to keep it in gear when parked I promise I will not bother you with anymore pics I am done with this stage now it is time to ride and move on the the next project! Jeff

A friend of mine has a 1 year old Bushtec trailerwith all the bells and whistles that he paid $4800.00 for. He has used it once to Vegas and back and is going to sell it to me foe $3000.00. More than I wanted to spend on a trailer, but a great deal. He keeps all of his stuff polished inside a garage so I know it is nice, The price includes cover and hitch and he is also gonna wire my trike. The only problem is it is black and my trike is pewter. I just could not pass it up.

Just bought a GW trike body off ebay. Thinking about making my 88 a trike. Do you think I'll get grief by the Venture bunch for using GW parts on it? I just hope to make it different enough it won't be mistaken for a GW.

I am thinking of tradeing my 2nd gen trike for a 2nd gen with a sidecar. That way I can take my great pyrenees with me on road trips. I can't seem to get her to feel at ease on the trike and she doesn't want to ride in the trailer she can't hear the tunes back there and she loves music. If you have a sidecar on a 2nd gen and may be intrested in a trade let me know.

Don't know if this has been posted already or not (did a quick search with no results). Looks like Harley is taking a step ahead of other manufacturers and making a factory-backed trike. See it here. It's about time. I'm actually surprised Harley was the first to make this move.
