OK, I know a few people have problems with that "other" venture club, but I and a lot of us here are a member of both. I believe in live and let live, the internet is big enough for everyone. But starting yesterday, I have been getting virus alerts when I try to go to the venturers.org site. It doesn't appear to be coming from my McAfee site advisor though, but from Google? Has the site been hacked and attacked? Can't seem to get through to post a note, even if I ignore the warning, it comes back with every click on the site. Never seen it before. thoughts? And please, no blasts, again, many of us are on and appreciate both sites.

Thanks Skydoc:clap2::clap2: Just when I thought things coulden't get any better then owning a First Gen venture, I found this web site. Me and my wife who are very proud of our bike, traveled to the WV Skid in. There we met some great people and took a look at some bike,s. I left there and Bike ran better than when i arrived thanks to frends from this site. Today me and wife travled to SkyDoc's home and installd new carb diaphrams and tweaked the carbmixture screws along with a carb sync. I'm proud to say 46.6 mpg on the way home. Best mileage yet with the bike and the get up and go is great. This man Knows his first gen's. Hats Off!!!. Jean thanks for the hospitality we had a great time, and Earl cooks a mean burger if i must say so.... Again Thanks Earl & Jean.. p.s.-Deb found her key-it was in her shoes! go figure

I posted the results of Billy Lanes trial. I had no idea this was controversial. I was merely informing everyone of what the results were. If I did something wrong then I am truly sorry. I will no longer post anything on the site. I will continue to be in the Chatroom and I will continue to welcome new members. As far as posting any thing other than that, it will not happen from me. Hello All, Summer has finally arrived in Ontario. Great riding weather now. I went for a ride with Relic and his wife Dianne yesterday to Meninite country and you couldn't have asked for better weather or friends. I'm off to Espanola in an hour on my bike and returning on Tuesday. Then the Europe trip on Friday without the bike, I'll be back packing with my wife and one of my sons for the first week and a bit, then finishing with a weeks cruise of the Mediterainian I'll miss out on the Meet and Farewell for Brad and Lonna on Aug 22nd along with countless other things that will be happening on the Venture site. I wish everyone an excellent end of the summer filled with activities and great weather. I look forward to getting back on the site in September and catching up with what everyone has been doing. Dave

I am considering a trade for an 83 Venture with about 24,000 mi. and would like to know if there are any particular things I should look for? I have read the 1st generation known problems posts. I see it mentions early and later problems. Is there a serial number range to know what is early or later production 1st gen. ? I will have maybe 1500 trade value into the bike and from the prices I see if it has no major problems it should be a good deal. Thanks in advance for any input. Nice site you all have here. I did not realize the Venture had such a "cult" following. I guess if I get the bike I might feel as exclusive as when I had old Triumphs and Nortons.

We are going to be headed to the Dragon rally after the international. Is anyone else doing the same? There is some time there for site seeing and we are looking either to tag along with someone who wants to do the same. Gotta see as much as possible in those few days as its pretty rare we can get that far away from home. The trip home will be a race of sorts to make it back in time for some cage camping with friends here so we wont have much site seeing time then.

Hello all. New to this site (but not to riding) and love it so far. Aquired a 2007 blue rsv with 7900 miles. Just broke in. Found the site and did a lot of reading. You guys and gals seem to help each other greatly. Got a few little ticks to get worked out on my bike and have already found most of the problem areas have already been discussed, such as bag bolts comming loose, CBERR, and stearing head bearing tightening. Very healpful. Thanks to all that have posted. I also ride a Honda VTX 1800c. Look forward to chating. Rex

I have ridden a 99' Venture for the past two years and just recently sold it. I had no complaints about the bike, I just decided that I wanted that "wind-in-the-face" feeling back that I had on my last bike. However, I also want a bike that can do the long haul trips that I like to take occasionally. I am looking at the Tour Deluxe becuase it seems to fit my needs for a cruiser/touring bike (and fit my budget). Having only test-ridden one a few years back, I was wondering if anyone else on this site has made this switch and if you had any input for me? I know to look for the obvious things (clutch whine, lower faring cracks, leaky rear shock, ect) but I would like some feedback from those who have acutally taken the plunge. Thanks, Bubba
