  1. Hello All...just wondering just how far you can lower the pillow seats and who does it? Would be great if i could find someone in Canada...
  2. I just posted a complete set of MM seats in the VR classifieds. If you are interested or have any questions, please ask or comment in the classified posting below. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3271&title=mm-studded-seats&cat=7 I hope someone here can use them. If there are no takers in the next 7 days, I will list on Ebay. BTW, I have another partial set (unstudded) that does not include the passenger backrest. So, if the studs are not your thing, I can substitute the unstudded partial set for the same price. I just want to have an extra rider and passenger seat as a backup for the pillowtops. Thanx for reading. Jerry
  3. Has any of you had made or know of anyone who has experienced a Russell Daylong Seat. They are custom made seats according to your size and weight. I`m 330 lbs and there is to much of me for the stock seat and the horn of the seat is a little uncomfortable. Height is not a problem as I have a passenger " Pro Pad " on the driverseat with a black sheepskin covering that. Would like to get rid of all that and find a good custom seat. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  4. Hi Everyone, Need to get some serious repair work done on my seats, or replace them on my Millenium Venture. Am thinking that it would be nice to have the pillow top seats, but the question is, "Where could I get them in tan...to match what I now have?" Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve Lancaster, PA
  5. Just put a set of mustang seats for tour deluxe in the classifieds (Put in Royal star parts and accessories). It says 2005 on the bottom of the driver seat but, I believe they fit any of the 2000 and up TD's (maybe 99 too?) They are in pretty good shape for four years old - I noted and put pics of the scuff's and such in the ad. We got a set of venture pillow tops (Which the wife has been eyeballing for 4 years) - everytime she saw a Venture, she had to go touch the seats (she's big time happy now). http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3079&title=tour-deluxe-mustang-seat&cat=8
  6. Every decent sports car has bucket seats...now bikes do too!
  7. What seats off of what will fit the RSTD?? Anyone have any suggestion's? Without breaking the bank.:no-no-no:
  8. I found an 06 white with the following: "Owner is asking 13,500 for an 06 with 20,194, white, just about everything I am looking for in the GW, heated seats and grips, fog lights, floorboards with heel toe shifter, cb." Is 13,500 to much for an 06?
  9. Made it home Sun. afternoon, after going to MD at Don & Eileen's.Had a great time meeting everyone, rode up there with B2dad,B2mom,Monty,Angel,Scarry Larry,Double D, Wanderer,(a great bunch of folks) My wife & I. took our vac. time and extended the ride. Went to Va. and rode back down the Skyway & the BRP, (met up with Painterman67 & Shadow queen on the parkway),into the Smokies, then down to Anniston,Al to spend some time with one of our daughters and our son-in-law.Went to Cheaha State Park there and found another Rally so had to join in there too.Have to get seats to Rick Butler, don't know if butt could have stood much more:bawling:. Some of the prettiest country we ever saw. Can't wait to go back and do some of it again, after seat mod is done.
  10. I have been on-line all over and contacted numerous salvage yards with no luck. If someone runs across some pillow top seats, would you please send me a personal message with the info. I'm not too good on following these threads. Thanks in advance for any help I receive from everyone. chuck
  11. Just in case someone is interested... here is the latest email (and pics) I got from Mustang. Looks good but also looks like they may take away some butt room and raise you up. ******** Venture Owners, We have an update for you on the progress we have made with the new Mustang seats for the Yamaha Venture. Seat styles have been set, along with pricing. A couple of pictures have been attached showing the first prototype seat on the bike. We can send more pictures upon request, but please be aware that they are large (2MB). Mustang will be making four separate, one-piece, two-person touring seats for the Venture. The seats will all be in the Regal or "pillow" style. They will be available with or without chrome studs, and with or without the built-in driver backrest. We have tried to keep the driver's seating position as close to stock as possible, but our firmer seat foam will result in a slightly higher seat height for both driver and passenger, as you will not sink into the seat like you do on the stock seat. Seats are not yet in production, but will be soon. We cannot take pre-orders yet. As soon as production begins, you will be notified so you can pre-order and get into the waiting line. Wait time will be from two to three weeks once production starts. Prices are as follows: Regal touring seat, no studs, $469.00 Regal touring seat, studded, $499.00 Regal touring seat with built-in driver backrest, no studs, $669.00 Regal touring seat with built-in driver backrest, studded, $699.00 Look over the attached pictures and let me know if you want more. Thanks again for your interest in our products. Ike Customer Service http://www.daraq.com/images/RSV_MustangSeat2.jpg http://www.daraq.com/images/RSV_MustangSeat1.jpg
  12. is anyone usen the wooden bead caushions on there seats and where can you get them???
  13. I have a 1998 Royal Star Boulevard xvz 1300a and I am looking for a passenger backrest. Can anyone direct me to a company that makes backrests or seats for my bike?

    Seat

I have a 2000 mm and it looks like the person that had it before me changed the seats out. Does anyone know where I can get a set of the pillow top seats or a website that I cn go to besides corbin that sell the seats that fit the ventures.
  15. Well, after much thought, I decided to let the Yamaha dealer rebuild the carbs for me (96 Tour Classic) as I did not have access to any "O" rings or gaskets or needles and seats and I didn't want to have to deal with that issue. Anyway, Carb rebuild ( mechanic couldn't get the seats out) replaced front tire ( that I supplied) flush the fuel tank, change oil and filters, and just about $825 dollars later, I got my bike back. OH ... yeah ... carbs are still leaking ... here we go on another nightmare. Gotta get it back to them again. Ahh... getting disgusted. As it is idling I can see it dripping from the carbs at a pretty good rate. What I don't understand is, why can't I duplicate this problem by simply turning the key on to "on" and letting the fuel pump fill the bowls. Why wouldn't there be enough fuel pressure to duplicate this with the motor off? I just have the feeling the dealer isn't going to take the time to really look at this the way I would have. I think the gas tank and air box has to come off and then somehow duplicate the leak when you can at least see the darned carbs. I'm so bummed. My wife and I got the bike home, got a baby sitter, hopped on the bike and after driving to the corner on our way to a nice ride, started smelling gas. Turned around, called off the babysitter, and really got bummed out......
  16. I had emailed Mustang some months ago to ask about a seat for our 2nd Gen RSV's. What I got back had a tone to it of "we don't offer it and don't want to so don't bother us". Today I got the following email from them... "Venture Owners, Mustang management has decided to offer replacement seats for the Yamaha Venture to answer the demands of our customers. The decision was made only a short time ago, and only one prototype seat has been tried so far. We are still refining the seat and hope to start production before Summer 2010. There will be four separate seats offered. All will be two-person, one-piece seats. Two with chrome studs, two plain, two with built-in driver backrests and two without. We are not yet making seats and are not taking advanced orders for Venture seats. You have received this message because you have asked about Venture seats in the past. You will continue to receive periodic updates from this office whenever new information becomes available. We are not attaching any pictures of the one prototype seat at this time because that design is being changed. As soon as any pictures are made available, you will receive them. Thanks for your interest in our products and for your patience as we develop a comfortable touring seat for your bike. Ike Customer Service"
  17. All I can say is WOW! Rick worked over the driver and passenger seats for me a while back and I just now had a chance to get the bike out and the difference is awesome. My wife and I rode about 150 miles today and we both could tell a lot of difference. I am leaving on a 2,500 mile trip in a couple of weeks and this seat modification is going to make it much more enjoyable. Also, his turnaround time is second to none. It was just one week from the time I sent to seats to Rick until I had them back on my front porch. Thanks Rick, you do nice work.
  18. Forgive me fellow V4 riders for I have sinned. Yesterday I took a 2010 Victory Vision for a test ride and by the end of the day I was making arrangements to turn over my 06 RSTD Midnight to the dealer. I have read several reviews and watched several You Tube videos about this bike and every one of them says that Victory got it right with the Vision, so I had to find a reason to hate this new spaceship on two wheels. Unfortunately my mission did not succeed and I am now on the factory delivery list. Perhaps it was those heated hand grips and dual control heated seats. After all it was only thirty-five degrees at the time of the test. Perhaps it was cruising along at 70 in 6th gear with my face shield up on my helmut behind the electrically adjustable windscreen and being hard pressed to know that the motor was really running. Or maybe it was those more common new bells and whistles like ABS brakes and electronically controlled fuel injection that Yamaha just doesn't want to give us V4 riders. At the end of the test ride I reluctantly decided to turn over the bike that I loved and invested heavily in over this past year for this unorthodox looking spaceship on two wheels. If any of you are looking for a very nice and very well pampered 06 RSTD Midnight with less that 5000 miles (8250 Kilometers) on the OD, my baby should be on the showroom floor at Peak Powersports in Burlington Ontario in about a weeks time. It comes with a custom tour pack c/w top rack, Mustang seats, Kuryakyn grips and highway pegs, passing lamps, HD Road King muffs, a Baron handlebar tach LED tail lights, licence plate light and rear turn signals, Strebel horn, and various other OEM and aftermarket accessories totalling close to $5K. The dealer gave me $10K on the trade-in value which also saved me $1,500 in taxes on the Victory. I am also going to have a number of accessories that I will be posting for sale that won't be turned over with the bike such as the lifting cradle, shop service manual, OEM seats and mufflers, a still in the package OEM front fender trim rail, and possibly the OEM detachable backrest c/w luggage rack (need to confirm this one with the dealer). I will post the items in the classifieds once the bike is turned over, but feel free to PM me in the mean time. http://i46.tinypic.com/2vj2bdi.jpg
  19. Well it took some work but I got it all together before riding season... My Tour Deluxe Now has the Venture Tour Pac and Pillow top seats.... Will post pic later
  20. Would anyone know if a Venture rear passenger seat would fit my 07 RSTD? My wife says the seat I have is uncomfortable after about 40 minutes. I have the Ultimate seats...looking for a more comfortable rear seat. Any suggestions? Thanks Mark
  21. Just posted my almost new seats for my 1999 RSV in the classifieds. These are in excellent condition. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/2582/cat/7
  22. It's official, I am no longer a proud Royal Star owner. The Victory dealer came and picked up my RSTD today. My new 2010 Victory Vision will be arriving in two or three weeks. Therefore my old username has to disappear as well. As tx2sturgis recently suggested, ManWithAVision seems much more appropriate at this point in time. With those dual stage heated handgrips and seats and electrically adjustable windscreen, I'm hoping to get in a few rides this winter on the dry days. I will post a comparison thread about the two bikes along the way. 06RSTDRider over and out!
  23. I have two tan seats for my 2000 MM Venture. One is stock set and the other is a corbin seat without a backrest. The Stock is in excellent condition with 13,000 miles and the corbin is in good to fair condition - not sure of miles. I have the opportunity to buy a corbin seat and backrest that are like new. So, what would be a fair price to ask for these seats? Thanks!
  24. Hey guys, It seems like the seats I have reworked recently, the individuals have sent me an e-mail asking if I still did this. Some of these have heard about me from friends or other sources. But many are members of this forum, where I'm guessing that many of you do not know (or forgotten) that I have an ad in the Classifieds under 2nd Gen Accessories: http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/1023/cat/7 Well I say ad? A while back Don was helping me with it when I was having a problem with some of it getting truncated. And his response was "Rick, this isn't an ad....it's a freakin novel". I'll admit I sometimes get carried away, but I feel too much is better that not enough? Anyway I thought I would just remind everyone of this ad. Even though I've done seats all year, I'm starting to get busy as you folks up north start putting your bikes up for the winter. And for now I'm only an exclusive to the Venture Riders, so I'm really your secret....unless you want to send me a friend who needs help. I've never turned away a referral. Thanks, Rick Oh, I've finally got my first Corbin. I't sad that it's off a 1000 VStrom instead of a Venture. But I'll let you know how it goes and what's really under the cover.
  25. when you're wrong about something you ought to admit it ! well i was wrong about the seats Rick Butler modified and the tour pak back rest cushions. i originally thought i would like the results ...but i was wrong...... I LOVE IT !! after being unable to ride for the past three month (during that time Rick did the mods) today my wife & i rode to Clarksville Va. for lunch - what a beautiful day and ride - the lunch was awesome (pepperoni & sausage lasagna). it was a 225 mi. round trip and my butt and especially my tailbone never bothered me. i could only get about 50 mi. before the mod and my butt & tailbone were aching and needing a break... you can spend the big bucks on all the fancy seats but the $40 for the seats is the best money i've spent on my bike. Thank you Rick Butler for the great job and the great service you provide to us here on VentureRider.
