Everybody knows Venture's Chargin system is just not enough for all Accessories and heated clothing, so every Watt count. Thats one of reasons I Didn't install Passing Lamps on my Venture. Well here is Cure. Found This very usefull site with direct replacement LED lights for most daylight passing lamps. They make all kind of LED Bulbs with H3, H4 , H7 and H11 base. Well, my battery lasted 5 riding seasons but now needs to be replaced. Does anyone have any recommmendations for a good replacement? This summer there was discussion at one of the meet & eats about a gel battery. Has anyone bought one and, if so, how do you like it so far?

just bought an 88 venture andthe seat is rippped on the side seam. where can i get a cover or replacement seat.

Does the front fairing have to be removed to get to the steering head bearings? I have scheduled a bearing replacement with the shop and have issues surrounding the integrety of the front fairing. It would be better if I took the fairing off myself because of all the plastic repair. Just curious! BTW... I AM KEEPING HER. SHE RUNS GREAT! Derek

I have some fairly large cracks in my fairing up by the edges of the windshield. I think it is from the previous owner as I didn't make them. Anyway I got a replacement via ebay and will be replacing it in the next couple of days. If there isn't a tech article about it here should I take pics and documents steps? Is there anything in that area of the bike that someone would want pictures of? -
thinking seriously about selling my rstd.it's loaded with extras and has venture trunk.hard decision to make but need something lighter do to bad legs.got two replacement bikes in mind but not going to tell what they are yet.if interested .pm me.bill

My '83 VR overheated. Long story. Anyhow, the engine is now out of the bike and the heads removed. No 1 cylinder head cracked. I'll be looking for a replacement. Meanwhile I'd like to remove the pistons, hone the barrells and fit new rings. Can the pistons be removed without splitting the case ? Jimod Darwin Australia

Soliciting input from 3XL helmet riders -- for 7 yrs I have had fantastic helmets from ARAI using their V ERY comfortable SIGNET GT in 3XL -- now the SIGNET is no longer made and the replacement (PROFILE) is not being made in 3XL -- any suggestions for alternate full face in 3XL? Thnx, DREBBIN

I have a 2007 RSV and the drivers seat is not working for me. After 50 or so miles, my hips are hurting, I'm developing monkeybutt, etc. But my wife loves her seat. I've added a sheepskin pro pad to the drivers seat and that helps a lot, but still not comfortable for a long ride. So I'm open to suggestions. Does anyone make replacement seats for the driver alone? I also already have a 3rd party drivers backrest and don't want to lose it. Best Regards, Leonard

I would like some advise on a replacement windshield "to replace my stock one on 2000 RSV" It is in excelent shape but it is high and not good in the rain,so I am asking for your opinions, eg: Clear View or JC Whitney or ? and what is it like to have a wider shield and a shorter one ? I found that a 1984-1997 toyota corrolla Car Quest PT# 60928 made by stant works as a replacement thermostat $12.90 is alot cheaper than the $45.00 the dealer wants:cool10: .I made the jiggler pin on it by drilling an 1/8 hole in it and installing a pop rivet shaft that was removed from the rivet unpopped cut it about 1/4 in. leaving the bulb on it stick it in the hole and swage the end over with a punch. or you probably could just install it the way it is but I chose to make it like the factory one. It works great! -
Has anybody in here ever replaced their bulbs with LED bulbs? The tail lights are simple to find replacement bulbs but the turn signal bulbs would have to be made at a right angle to point to the front or rear of the bike. I have seen the blade type for the instrument panel and marker lights. The marker light again would have to be made with a right angle. Any suggestions? I know the VR's are lacking in the power output department and figure I could save some wattage for my trailer and other accessories if I can swap in LED bulbs. In the mean time I'm talking to a guy who says he can rebuild the rectifier and upgrade the stator for more output. Just have to find a couple used specimens to take him so he can get started.

I'm brand new to this and am looking for some help. I had the headlight cover on my fairing break out on a ride the other day. I've tried to locate a replacement and have discovered that the part has been discontinued. Does anyone know of any after market products or do I need to manufacture one myself. The original was safety glass. My dilemma is that the housing is curved which makes it much more difficult to fit properly. Any help would be great. -

My brother has an 83 venture with a dead stator. I can't seem to find any tips on replacement. Service manuals just say if it's bad, replace it! Any help out there?

I'm looking for a better seat for my 1st gen venture. The stock one is fine for a few hours But after that my wife and i both start getting alittle uncomfortable. Does anyone know of a good replacement??

Well it looks as if my battery is belly-up. What are the opinions on replacement batteries for the 1st gens? I'd like to go maintenance free if possible, but looking for the bang-for-the-buck factor. Don't want to throw a wad of cash out, but will spend a bit more for a better battery. Also, does anyone have a good way to do a load test on a battery to make sure if it is the problem or not? I could hook up a 12 volt load to it, but I have no idea how long it should last. The battery reads 13 volts after a couple of nights on the battery minder jr, but won't crank the starter more than a couple of revs before the relays chatter. Fluid levels are good, battery light is off. I ran a new cable I made out of heavy guage aircraft electrical wire to the starter. I've looked at the archives, but I think many good battery threads, must have been lost back in the crash. The dang electrical problems ended my season early, and I want this thing running well before spring. Any other ideas will be appreciated.
