Squidley gave me the idea to post this here so here goes. First of all this is to Riders out of Michigan. Last may i bought my 85 Venture Royale from a couple up in Muskegon. They only had the bike 8 months and never rode it much. they wanted and bought a Wing instead. The bike is Brown and Gold and came with a trailer hitch. The trunk on the bike was cracked in the bottom and repaired with fiberglass. The bike only has 35k on it and seems to have fairly well taken care of . It also has a sticker inside the trunk saying that the bike climbed Mt. Washington. The last six digits on the registration are 000110. I was wondering if anyone here may have owned the bike or knows someone that may have. I love the bike it runs great and any information from previous owners would only help to better know the history of this bike. I hope to hear from someone out there. PJ.

I was bored today and my mind was wandering and somehow I wandered onto this question. OK so I know that the 2nd gens have heated carbs, but how do they work? I didn't see anything in the owners manual. I am not having any problems, just curiosity.:puzzled:

Last week I bought an 84 Venture XVZ12 and I am looking for a copy of the owners manual. A guy from work who has a 92 Venture 1300 Royale loaned me his manual which I took home and scanned into a .pdf file. The PDF file is 14.5 megs. I was hoping to find someone that might be willing to do the same for a 1st gen. venture owners manual. If you would like a copy of the 2nd gen. owners manual that I have, just let me know and I can send it to you. I just bought an 86 Venture Royale. I love it. I'm still a rookie and this bike is loaded with gadgets. Does anyone know where I can get an owner's manual? I have the service manual. This is a wonderful site and I am learning so much just by visiting. Keep up the great work. Jay -
Just curious if anyone has the owners manual for an 84 venture standard. I just bought this bike and being relatively new to the venture scene, I just wanted to get a little more familiar with the bike. I've got some questions regarding the air ride adjustment (I think thats what its called). If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

I guess it is official, my children are right, I should not be allowed near electronics. I have a just purchased a 05 RSV and have read the owners manuel (on Yamaha Motors site) and I can not get set my favorites on the radio. Can anyone give me any advise? Thank s

I got a j&m set (the inexpensive set) got it installed and the intercom part works good but the raidio i can bearly hear. I read the owners manual and dont know. any info. ya'll give me some input what im doing wrong

Hi All, I am looking at a 2006 RSv I would be the 3rd owner, will I still be able to transfer the 5 yr warranty? or is there a limit to the number of owners, or some other silly stipulation. Thanks for any help. Craig

Does it matter what type or brand of coolant I use in my RSTD. A friend of mine tells me to use the honda coolant because it will not damage the water pump (Contains low or no silicate). Owners manual just calls for regular 50/50 coolant. What are you folks using ?? Thanks: Will

One of our members Dakotasport is parting out a second gen he has some parts listed here and he's got some listed on ebay. I just had to spread the word. One to help out a fellow member and two to let all those 1st gen owners know they are starting to part out the 2nd gens. Now mind you I'm not much. Margaret

Has and/or will a reverse gear help you decide on your next purchase of a touring bike? This is for men and women owners of RSTD or Venture. My wife is also a driver and has suggested that reverse would be a nice consideration for her when we're talking about 800 give or take pounds. Only the Goldwing and BMW have reverse as far as we know. Will Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, HD, and others join in and add reverse or is reverse not an issue to you owners of the big rigs?

Almost for certain 2008 is the last 2nd generation, so should we (would you) buy into the last of the 2nd, or wait 'till 2009 or later to be among the first of the new 3rd generation owners? Especially if the 5 year warranty remains with the v-4's, unlike the v-2's... Decisions decisions...

I am relatively new to this sight and I have seen a pattern of distain emminating from most 1st gen owners toward 2nd gen owners. I thought we all shared the common interest of riding Yamaha's. Am I wrong? Every time there is a post about a problem with a 2nd gen, some 1st gen owner has to chime in with "...you should've bought a 1st gen!", or "...that bike can't keep up with a 1st gen." Why so much animosity? Is it because your afraid of change or are you afraid of not getting noticed when parked next to a 2nd gen? From the posts I have read on this website, it sounds like the 1st gens are falling apart. Oil leaks, electrical problems, brakes locking up and the list goes on and on. Some of you like owning antiques that are hard to restore and need to be handled delecately so they don't fall apart and that is probably why you own 1st gens. I do not hold that against you. But I think when we all admit that the 2nd gen is a superior bike then we can all start being friends and put this whole uglynes behind us. I accept all of the 1st gen owners appologies in advance. (P.S. Don't take it personal. I am only joking)

I've got a friend who just bought a 1995 Virago 250. She didn't get an owners manual and, on her way home, someone rolled down their window and said that her chain was loose. Actually they said "Hey buddy, your chains loose" (thought that was cute). Does anyone know where I could download an owners manual or service manual for this bike or does anyone know the proper tightness for the chain?
