I have a 07 Venture and I have had 3 Windshields put on it by my local Yamaha dealer. It seems to crack below the chrome where the bolts are put in and splits up the windshield. I think that they are stumped and so am I. They were not very happy when I told them it is ready for another one. Any Ideas? Thanks, Tonto01

Was wondering if anyone had a good way to attach their iPOD to your bike. It seems I have seen some attached to the handlebars but I have not been able to find anything to hold it on so I could see it. Now I have a pouch on the windshield but I am wanting something to hold it on the bars so I can see it. Any ideas?

think we are getting there on the 09 rally. we are going to have vendors, probably some biker type games, lots of planned and random rides. good food, a final dinner, comeraderie, raffles, and what the heck else am i forgetting? i need help from the members. give me some ideas on things that we can do to make this the best meet ever. i am open to all suggestions. it's your meet and we (the meet committee), want every one to have a great time, and go home with lots of good memories. don't hold back we will take all ideas into consideration. if any of our members have something bike related they would like to have in the vendor area. contact danob11. he is the vendor guy and would be glad to work with you. if any one in the area, or that knows the area wants to put together and lead a ride contact me or colesgrandpa. he is my ride coordinator. i am personally going lead a ride to eureka springs for an on the town shopping spree for the gals, my wife is a pro shopper. lol. we still need some one to volunteer to put together a video on a dvd of the pic's and videos of the meet that the members have taken. so the members can enjoy the good memories. if it seems like i am shoving this meet down your throat, it's not meant to be that way. black owl told me don't let the members forget, and i really believe in what he said. so give me some ideas on what you folks think might make tis the ultimate meet. this ones for you. snarley bill :clap2:

I have looked and do not see how the chrome trim is removed from exhaust to check for leaks. Any ideas? I am sure i have just overlooked something

I came to work to night and when I got here the tail lights were not working, I checked the bulbs (OK), looked in the online manual and haven't found any help there. Will look for the fuse to see if it is a lone fuse. Brake lites work. Any ideas? On the starter, it starts great sometimes, then about every 2 or 3 times it will pull the amps down to about 5, then hesitate, then crank like a new one. Cleaned the batt cables, and tested it (OK). This happens cold or hot?!?!?!?!?!? Any ideas? Thankx, Gary C -
HI all, I've seen sporadic talk in different sections about LED mods. And I've seen that there are plenty of different kits out that can be used very well with both our 1st and 2nd Gen machines. I decided to play around with them looking for a more personal touch and I would like to anyone interested to share ideas with. With the exception of a couple of short neon tubes I will be working with adding presolderded single led's. I just this afternoon received a great big box of "oh wow now what's" so I don't have any projects to show yet. If there is any interest I would be happy to post pics of both good and bad ideas as they roll out. As well as the best sources for single ultra bright led's and supplies. I'm also really interested in hearing about any of your projects either finished or just drawingboard.

before all the excitement over this years st. jude ride fades away. i would like to come up with a challenge for the 2009 rally. anyone got any ideas. since dragonrider was the one who originally got the st. jude ball rolling on the site, and he is going to do vogel again next year we could combine the 09 rally and vogel in the challenge some how. then donate the money again next year like we did the last two years, with an end of the season ride to memphis. the ride had double the attendence this year. i will donate myself as one of the fallguys. as long as it don't hurt.this old body won't handle anymore pain. i could handle a tattoo, but no torture. lol. lets have some ideas. we are going to do a 50/50 for st. jude at the rally. folks these things get to be alot of fun once you get involved, and it's for one heck of a good cause. we, the 2009 rally committee are open for ideas, so have at it. bill :clap2:

Does anyone know where I may find a new seat for an 87VR ? I am a big guy and the seat is a little light. I want a big thick soft seat. Any ideas? Should I take it and have it re- upholstered? Thanks for any help!!!

Hello All, Was doing a quick walk around on my 87 Venture, and my headlight isn't on. I pulled it apart and the bulb is good, both low and high. When I unplug the light the Warning light comes on on the dash. Then I plug in and it shows fine, but I still have no light. Any Ideas? D

When I turn on the key, the gas pump cycles and the speedo does its thing...and the headlight comes on (but I notice NOT the running lights). When I push the starter button, theres a click sound from down, left below/behind the battery. (Is there a solenoid down there?) The battery is showing about 12.8 volts. Bike has been sitting for four or five days. Any ideas? (Wiring to passing lamps was recently 'fixed'.....and the bike ran fine last weekend....all day Saturday. Has sat out (covered) in rain since then.) Thoughts? Really want to solve this one, with the last big weekend (with perfect forecast) coming up this Thanksgiving weekend. Any ideas greatly appreciated. (Going to put the battery on the charger now as a start.) Michael -
The last 2 times I have been on bike and had the radio on, it would drop to 89.7 FM from 107.5 FM by itself. Cannot be able to use preset to get back to 107.5. When I hit preset, it goes to 107.9, then have to use step down button to get back to 107.5. Early this summer took connections apart on sound system, used eletric spray cleaner and then put dieletric grease on all connections. Haven't had any problems up until now. Any ideas?? Don H.

Anyone know what a failing clutch bearing sounds like. I'm getting a whirring type sound while riding that goes away when I pull the clutch in. ANy ideas -
Well, as some of you know I traded my 89 Honda Hawk in for a 88 Venture Royale about 2 weeks ago. The first weekend I got it I put about 400 miles on it and then parked it, planning on quickly completing a short list of changes. Well between learning more about the condition of the little do-dads on the bike, reading all the magnanimous ideas here and the internet, that short list quickly turned into 2 pages of 'things' to do... hehe.. *sigh* So... Since some of these are ideas already on here and some are my original ideas I thought I would post them all with pics to share. Some are finished and some I will be posting later as I complete them. So here we go!

ok, need some help here.. I installed my R/K`s last Sat. and took them back off in about 10 min.... hated the way they fit.. sounded good but looked like some rigged %$#@... I have the Kury. clamps and they still did not cover the pipe where the RK`s meet up. Looks like some of the pipe on the mufflers needs to be cut off.. any one have any Ideas, I have seen them on others and they looked good, I thought about useing the cone from the stock, but didn`t want to end up with 2 sets that I can`t use.. I have a 08 RSV and just put 3k on it, I just noticed the vent tube had some gas coming out of it today? I have been smelling gas but havent seen it and I have said something to the tech the last time I took it in and they couldnt find anything. Does anyone have any ideas or is this normal? Thanks guys. BACA is coming tonight to meet Haylie and give us some more info. they would like to have a biker name for her to be known as....only 1 person, the child Liaison, from baca will know her real name or the the specifics of what happened to her. I need some ideas for a name....i cant think of anything..... I believe they are going to give her a vest and i dont know if they put her name on it or not. heading out to get her from school and then to therapy will check in when we get back and see if ya all had any ideas...... thanks for the help !!

Just wondering what the options are for mudflaps on an RSV, especially one on the front wheel to keep rocks off the Wagner grill cover. I know about the Timberwolf flaps but there must be others that work as well. Any ideas?

Sounds like a stupid question I know, but... I've got a spare key & rather than leave it hanging at home while away on 2000 mile trip, thought it might be better to put in on bike somewhere that I can get it if I lose my key while on trip. Just wondering if anyone else does that & if so where "could" it be hidden so it's not seen but can be retrieved easily enough with just a wrench if need be (like under the seat)? Not that anyone would tell everyone else exactly where they store theirs though! Just looking for ideas...thanks...JR

Sometimes my battery guage is just barely over 12 (with engine running) and other times its around 14-15. Not sure is this is an early sign of a stator going bad or something else.....any ideas? -
My headlight burns fine on high but is very dim on low beam. I tried a new bulb but it didn't help. Any ideas? Some have suggested the contacts in the switch may be bad. Can this switch be opened to clean the contacts? Any other ideas? Ronnie 83 Venture Standard:depressed::confused07::confused07:

RSV 2002 but with 2007 seats. My problem is I am too short and cannot see over or around my husband. Does anyone have any ideas to raise the passenger seat? Most of the advise I get is ride my own. I have been a passenger for over 30 years and just got my license this year. My little Honda 250 is just a get around. Maybe next year I will get my big bike. In the mean time, any ideas for raising the seat? This is my first post, so hope put it in the right forum!!! jj

First off I want to say I had a blast at the 3 State Meet and Eat. It was good to meet with some of you and exchange ideas. I spoke to one of you that had a black RSTD. Harley pipes, driving lights and additions on the air boxes. Bike was setup for solo riding. If anyone knows who this is send me a message I'm sure I would like to trade ideas with him again sometime. Sorry, but I am terrible with names. Anyone else that wants feel free, I work 4 on 4 off so I am always looking for people to ride with. Thanks!

I have a 1986 Venture Royale - My leveling system does not work. What steps do I need to do. It worked when I bought it. Any ideas? -
Today when I left home I got to the corner and noticed I didn't have a speedo or odememter. Stopped and checked all the lights and they were on as was the overdrive and cruise lights, so since I had a GPS I went on. On the way I stopped for gas when I started it back up everything was working again. Later in the day when I started it kind of paused, then started, but the odemeter and cloce and been reset. Any ideas
