  1. This will probably end up being a "duh" on my part but...I installed the cable to use with a Zumo 660. Everything appears to be working okay, except the music from the GPS...I can hear it, but it is very, very weak...unusable actually. any ideas?
  2. Is there somewhere online I can purchase intercom adaptor cables that hook into the connectors on the bike? What is manufacturer and part number? Also, what then do I need to adapt those to earbuds? I've read that the Sony EX71SLB work nice and are comfy. I'm thinking of doing this more for my wife so she can hear the radio while riding on back. Am I on the right track here....if she's plugged into rear connector will speakers still have sound?
  3. Its only now that I can tell of my heart break of you leaving. Dq hasnt been the same without you so I too am considering the warmer climates!! I hear Ice Cream tastes better when its hot and sweaty out! Can the Fish man come too???
  4. Trying to get a feel of how far we go between changes. I have used the Rotella about 10k now, changing every 5k. I am sure I could go a little longer, but by 5k, I begin to hear my shifitng. Fresh oil = less noise and smoother shifting.
  5. I know there were several tornados in Mississippi today, and there were at least 10 fatalities. Mississippi members, let's hear from you.
  6. Tried finding this already.. can't find a thread with the info. I just got all the wires and all for my intercom headsets. I, however, use a half helmet and would like to hear all audio out of the speakers. Passenger wants helmet speakers. I can hear CB & radio out of speakers, but not getting any intercom. Any tips? Or does intercom not go through speakers?
  7. I removed the trunk from my '09 RSV and reinstalled the CB under the luggage rack. I can hear my radio and my cb through the speakers but can't hear anything through my headset. Everything is hooked up as before except for the 2 plugs that plug into the trunk. Does the trunk have to be installed in order for the headset to work when plugged into the tank plug? Or is there possibly something wrong with the wiring somewhere up front? Thanks in advance.........
  8. it was just my imagination running away with me. Each day, through my windshield, I watch as the road passes by. I say to myself, "You're such a lucky guy." To have a bike like her is truly a dream come true. Out of all of the yammys in the world she belongs to me... But it was just my imagination . . . running away with me. It was just my imagination running away with me... Every night, on my knees I pray, "Dear Lord, hear my plea... don't ever let a cager wreck and take my bike from me or I will surely die.." Ooh, 4 cylnders are heavenly; when the Revs unfold before me, I hear a tender rhapsody... but in reality, she may need a carb sync from me But it was just my imagination -- once again -- running away with me. I tell you it was just my imagination running away with me...
  9. The engineers must know a good thing when they see (hear) it: http://www.harley-davidsonforums.com/forums/general-motorcycle-related/13713-fifth-gear-whine.html
  10. How do I find some one's real nane @ add. on hear? I tryed the search but don't come up with any thing.
  11. I have just installed the Buddy Rich cable and before I put the faring back together I have a question. The MP3 player works and sounds just great through my helmet headphones with the volune on the bike audio system set fairly low arounf 6 or so but when I answer a phone call I had to turn the volume up all the way to 30 in order to hear the call. I have the volume set to 100% on the Garmin and the volume on my Motorolla razor phone up al the way. Any one have any ideas why I cant hear the phone call without turning the volume up all the way on the bike?
  12. OK what do I tipe in to find out more about bub Exhaust. I know there is more on hear then what I am finding in search . Bub Exhaust.
  13. New-to-me '07 RSV. I can see one horn down on the right side behind the RH floorboard. I can hear the other one but have not been able to see it. It's down somewhere in front of the engine? Maybe I'll have to lie down on the floor to see it from underneath? Now I know why so many posts about replacing the stock horns. A decent bell might be louder!
  14. Was very excited to hear from Jonas last night. He called to see how everybody was doing and it was a nice surprise to hear from him. He is still working in Norway and putting in a LOT of hours...way too many but says that with the economic conditions in Iceland, he is happy to have a job. He won't make it back over this year but plans to visit again in 2011. I hope it happens, he is a true gentleman and it would be great to see him again.
  15. Let's hear your best "It's so cold out"..... It's so cold out only guys with names like Al or Ed have time to write their name in the snow...... ought to be good to see some of these answers
  16. Well even though this may not be the right location I need all the help I can get. I have a second interview tomorrow for a local job. It is not the dream job but it is in my field and could be very stable, which is very good. So here goes, any one that has a few extra prayers in them and would send them my way I would be eternally great full. The last interview went well and I felt pretty good about it before and after I left the interview. Well I was thinking I could do it on my own and then I realized I needed a little (a lot) of divine intervention. So I asked for help and asked that if nothing else I would be happy about presenting myself and who I am. Sometime when you go to interviews you try to tell the interviewer what they want to hear. I never was that kind of guy but It is easy to do. Anyway as I said the interview went well and I have been called back for a second interview on Thursday. I sure could use the help of the Man up stairs to give me the presence of mind to represent myself just as I did during the first interview. I look at it like this, as long as I am me and don't tell them what I think they want to hear Vs reality I will be happy with the out come no matter what. So if you could bend His ear a little to tell Him I could use His help again I would greatly appreciate it. And yes I will be asking for a little make that a lot of help directly myself. Thank all GIG Steve
  17. Hey I copied this off of another site. They're talking about the motor cycle wave that is so prevalent here in the states when we ride. Of course most non-riders think it's goofy, but this Aussie responded based on what's normal over there I guess. Is this the general consensus over there? Just wondering? "No mate, we just don't wave. You're on a bike, I'm on a bike, we nod as we pass. Aussies and UK riders don't get excited about seeing other people on bikes. Many don't even bother nodding at all. Kinda surprised me that everyone I saw on a bike in the USA DID wave at me. We're not into the brotherhood of bikers stuff here. Maybe some Harley clubs are. That's not to say that guys won't stop if you look like you need help. I guess we're just more reserved is all. We don't fly flags or get all misty eyed when we hear the national anthem either. (Most of us think Waltzing Matilda should be the national anthem actually) It's about the only song most Aussies recognize when they hear it. Apart from ACDC of course."
  18. When I posted Sunday night that I was going in for back surgery at 6:30am I said something didn't feel right I WAS RIGHT. Anesthesiologist damn near killed me. This stupid female anesthesiologist was in such a hurry and wouldn't listen to anyone, Nurses told her I was not given all the shots to relax me and I was not ready to go. She grabbed me up anyway and took me to surgery. As we are going into surgery I'm telling her I'm not supposed to be remembering all this (from preveious surgerys I have had) her assistant telling her I had not had some shot in my neck yet and some stuff sprayed down my throat. So she sprays my throat and starts shoving this black tube down my throat, I'm gagging voices I can hear are telling her I'm not prepaired yet, I hear her say she has to use a lock and starts shoving another thing down my throat with the tube she already has in there. I can't breath at all and hear everybody yelling and then she wants a "trek kit" I'm about passed out, I hear my surgeon yell stop. About 1/2 hour later I come to in a recovery room with nurses everywhere I'm coughing up blood everywhere while they try to keep an oxigen mask on me. Was told later she pulled everything back out of my throat shoved it in again and hit gold or red I should say, they said I started coughing and blood was flying everywhere. Surgeon cancelled everything of course, had a lung doctor come in and put a small tube with a camera up my nose then down the throat to check things. Told me he would be the anesthesiologist next time. Bleeding got stopped and was kept overnight for oberservation. Have to start everything all over again in 2 weeks when throat is healed. Get this; I had lung x-rays before the operation and they were good, after this all happened the anesthesiologist blamed it on my lungs. She came to my room last night when my son was there and said I had an ashima attack and my lungs are in such bad shape that they cannot take an operation like this. But I passed the lung x-ray they did after all this happened too. Would not be out of hospital if I had any respatory problems they said. Bottom line I'm alive, have very sore throat, and meds to take so we can try the back surgery later. And that anesthesiologist is under investagation. And I need to see a lawyer, can't pay all this mandatory co-pay twice. Much more to this but this is the short version.
  19. I hooked up an intercom on my bike so Karen and I can talk. It also has a a place to plug into a radio. I have tried a small radio and an I-phone, and I can hear them just fine, but Karen can't hear the radio at all. What would I need to do to make it where she can hear it? I bought it from Sierra electronics. I think it's IMC brand.
  20. When I turn my ride off I can hear coolant boiling in the coolant reservoir. What gives?
  21. How can I tell if the cb works? I can hear them.
  22. Hey guys... Can you guys post the actual tire part numbers for your combos? I hear about the kumoho, but which tire? And apparently there's different sizes of the cobras and such?? I hear some saying to use the "thinner" version for the front some people use? I'm pretty interested in this. Especially for the reduced cost and increased milage- I'm really interested! I have a used bike and just don't know how old/many miles on the tires, plus, they're brickstones. if it's affordable, I'll switch now... rs
  23. Everything seems to be running fine on my 97 RSTD, however I recently installed a windshield, which allows me to hear the engine noise much better. When I reach 3rd gear, I hear an "intermitant tapping" sound. It doesn't occur in any other gear and is not a bang or a grind, but can be best described as if I had hung a very small pebble by a long string and let it bounce underneath, occasionally tapping against the bike. It is a very mild sound, and sometimes can even be heard if I pull the clutch in at that gear.... I am wondering what it could be? Any thoughts
  24. $6K and two new hearing aids, later! my keyboard actually makes noises when i type. my hard drive makes a sound ,i never knew that! i thought they were silent! i guess i might even start watching T.V. again, now that i can hear it. just jt
  25. So I went to check out the 03 Venture and too kit for a ride. The owner has a 92 Goldwing so he took me for a ride to follow him. A lot of curves etc I could not believe how nice it was!!!! Like I said I have owned a 01 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 classic, 3 different Honda VTX 1800 and a 94 Goldwing. This is a GREAT bike I know somw say it is op heavy but I did not think so. And as for the whine did not hear anything at all! It was a 250 plus mile ride back home and all I can say is I LOVE It!!!!!!!! The I bought the short windshield and the Sampson Fishtails mufflers I got around 45 miles per gal on the trip back. I never heard any of the whine the owner has a 92 GW with 93000 miles he said he could hear it but nothing I would think twice about! So from where I an now I'm one happy man!!!!!!!! http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s37/VictoriaVett/100_1686.jpg
