  1. I thought I'd show you guys my new ride. It's not a Yamaha, but it's still a bike and it's still fun to ride. Okay I should have sucked my gut in a little...
  2. Wow This looks like it would be a really fun road to ride with some incredible views. [ame=http://www.slideshare.net/Nubiagroup/tinamen-mountains-china-pps-by-dan-calistrat]Tinamen Mountains- China (pps by Dan Calistrat)@@AMEPARAM@@ssplayer2.swf?doc=nubiagrouptinamenmountains-ppsbydancalistrat-100813092935-phpapp02&stripped_title=tinamen-mountains-china-pps-by-dan-calistrat@@AMEPARAM@@nubiagrouptinamenmountains-ppsbydancalistrat-100813092935-phpapp02@@AMEPARAM@@tinamen-mountains-china-pps-by-dan-calistrat[/ame] To bad it is all of the way on the other side of the world and I have no pontoons for my 1st gen to be able to ride across the big pond to get there.
  3. "Go faster!!" Somebody's having fun! http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_LxZ4Mi3rR3Q/TGJdSSKHlxI/AAAAAAAAh_Y/6sWLHHwN3Y8/s400/img_9928.jpg
  4. I've lived in the Canton Ohio area for most of my life but this year will be my first time to watch the parade live. We have grandstand seating at the American Legion just about midway on the parade route, should be a fun day. Not going to the enshrinement, way too busy for me, not to mention we wouldn't be able to get within earshot of the proceedings.

  6. I have posted an update in the Rally section on the Asheville Rally. I hope we can get a bunch there this year as this really is a fun rally and great place to have it. RandyA http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=485577#post485577
  7. Noticed last night when I went to log in that SOMEBODY (I won't say his name but he just moved to Texas and likes "Cupcakes!) is havin' a bit o fun with my screen name. I suppose he'll jump in here soon and let us all know WHY! Dano "aka Jinxed" aka Skinny SQUIDLEY:shock3:
  8. The wife and I on separate bikes did 1200+ miles round trip for Star Days this year. Our first Star Days and we had a great time. Lots of nice people, the event was well organized, although the banquet ran WAY long and we left early to get a good spot by the pool for late night talk. We did some exploring on Wednesday and went up Signal Mountain. All the fun roads of Lookout mountain without all the tourist traffic. Went up Route 8/127, and that was fun, but the GPS found what the locals call the "W's". Actually called W road. Look it up on Google. All the thrills of the Dragon without the crazy crotch rockets, but a lot shorter. Sticky Fingers BBQ got our vote for best food of the trip, the dry rub ribs were the best I have ever had. The Tennessee Railroad Museum was a fun time, the short train ride includes a lot of history and you can run around the train, hang out on the very back of the cars outside or stick your head out the window without getting yelled at! Just don't hang out too far through the tunnel, only 15" of clearance! Best $15 we spent on the vacation. Highly recommended. Others in our group enjoyed the aquarium, and several went to the actual Dragon. Only downside was it was HOT HOT HOT. but then it is the South in July, what do you expect? We found the locals to be helpful and friendly, and plan to visit Chattanooga again soon, maybe outside of the main tourist season and when it is cooler! Hope everyone made it there and back OK.
  9. OK we have signed into the Airport Inn.. That is Wizard765 and Marcarl.. Meeting us in the parking lot was Bongobobny, B2Dad and Carbon1.. Shortly after that Dano and Rosebud showed up.. Getting cooled down a bit then heading out for dinner... YAHOO!!!! LET THE FUN BEGIN....
  10. After reading the remarks and thinking about what I wrote I was wrong...and for that I am sorry, I know this site is for fun and to help each other and I crossed the line I am sorry and hope to make it up.
  11. Man what a grand time. It was sure fun. The weather was excellent the food was good and most of all it was great seeing friends once again and meeting new ones. I think every one had a fun time. Nice job Don Gary (dingy) Great job on picking up a place for Friday night. The Quaker Steak & Lube, was really a cool place, we loved it. We had a great time, as you can see in the pictures below.
  12. OK, there are a bunch of us that can not make it to MD 2010 and here is a place for those that are at MD 2010 to post some of the fun for the rest of us poor soles. PLEASE!! Pretty please, with ice cream on it.
  13. Had friends drop by last night for dinner, and they were both on their own bikes instead of just one. My good friend, Julia, had gone out and purchased her first motorcycle (been licensed for a while, but didn't have her own machine) - a 2005 Kawasaki ZX-6 Ninja. Ok, it's not a Venture. In fact, it is the other end of the spectrum from a Venture... but I rode it. And it is FUN. Not even in the same hemishere for comfort, but very (scary) fast, very light, ultra-nimble and can stop on a nickel (or less) ... but 100% FUN. And for a 599cc engine.. it can fly ! I couldn't believe it didn't redline until 14,500 rpm until I took it for a spin. The tach seemed excessive, but I used all of it, and very, very quickly. There is absolutely no need for 4th or 5th gear as I hit "way too fast" in 3rd gear. I've been on much bigger "sport" bikes that couldn't match the acceleration. Anyways, to wrap up the report, I was very grateful to be trusted enough to take it for a ride. It hasn't seen much riding in a year or two and needs some Seafoam, and maybe a little tweaking of the carbs, which I will certainly help in any way I can. It's certainly not anything I would buy, or ever want to own, but I have to admit.. for the 20 minutes I was on it, I couldn't stop grinning. You never know until you try it, right ?? Enjoy MD everyone... I'm aiming for next year.
  14. No, not mental, that left long ago and will never come back. I finally got rid of the CT today and put a Elite II on the back. WAY BETTER. I'm not trying to control the bike all the time anymore and its fun to ride again. That's my take on running a CT and I tried everything to get it to work but you really just can't use a CT on a motorcycle IMHO. So I'll just .
  15. Wishing everyone a save and fun weekend. We would be there if we could. I'll be thinking of you all while I have a cold one looking out over the Pacific. Gary & Mary
  16. Hoping everyone who is attending MD has a safe trip to and from there. Wish I was able to join you all there but its just not in the cards this time.......Have fun everyone!!!!
  17. Here is a Harly Video I stumbled on ...enjoy!!! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izzlN2zC8PU]YouTube- Honest Harley Davidson Commercial[/ame] Brian This really is meant for fun for you guys that do own Harleys, i really dont trash them.......
  18. Great Ride Sunday May 30th 458 miles of fun. Come and go along with us! http://www.photoshow.com/watch/cS8RJ6Wq Phill
  19. I have a chance to buy a 1996 HD Heritage Softail Classic with about 10k miles on it. Has everything and is bone stock. Well maintained bike. Always stored inside and heated garage. All maint. done by HD dealer. Seller wants $7-7,500 for it. I think it's a good deal, but I want to flip it in the spring for about $9,000. Any thoughts? Might even keep it and sell the 95 HD. Just something more fun to talk about than flame wars, etc. By the way if you have not looked, Gary N. is doing better. Wish I could do something for him. Does anyone know of a Santa icon I can click and paste?
  20. I've been offered an '08 RSV. I WANT IT! Outside of getting the financing for my new toy [always fun], I'm looking at what other stuff I'm going to need for it. Top of the list is a helmet/headset set up so I can use the cb/cassette deck. 650 Customs don't come with these lil goodies. I have not gotten anything of the kind installed on my Wee Beastie as yet so I don't have any of the gear needed for this. All of my research into RSV's has been into the bike itself and not the add ons/oem equipment like the radio/cb systems. I don't know if the current owner's gear will fit me [providing he'll sell it] so I'm looking at what I need to get for it. Oh Fun! Any help, info, suggestions, etc. would be appreciated. I will be figuring out a way to install a Sirius Sat Radio on the bike and adding that to the sound system. Normally I will ride with either a full or flip face helmet but that might change when I'm finally behind a full fairing/windshield. But I won't be riding in anything less than a 3/4. Here's hoping everything works out and I'll have my new wheels in time for my so-called vacation this summer!
  21. Here are the pictures, I hope! Sleeperhawk has been unable to post these or me as he normally does. George has been in a lot of pain today and off to the doctor again tomorrow! It was fun seeing everyone there and I had such great subjects! Ride safe, Bobbie http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanics%20April%202010%20North%20GA%20ME/
  22. Riderduke came down for a little "wheel" work with us this weekend! :cool10:Just a few pics of Sleeperhawk "teaching" Riderduke how to ungrease and grease! Humm, I think the guys got more on them than on the bike! Thankfully, I did not have my camera when the garage monster (cousin to the pond monster) showed up ! Bear30, you would have been proud of Riderduke!:whistling: Took the bike out for a short ride to check things out and everything was AOKAY! Good job guys! Fun time!!!
  23. Here is a little program that you can make yours or someone Else's voice work on your Garmin. I was thinking of having my Daughter Enter the voice commands. Like Daddy, I have to recalculate again damn it ! Or you can have your wife or girlfriend yell at you when you made the wrong turn! I think It would be fun to try. Just thought I would pass it along to everybody! have fun with it. http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4754 Jeff
  24. Well, i haven't ridden in awhile, so as you can all probably guess, its killing me. I have been outside scraping the last of the ice off of my street, and got the bike put back together. I have to work at 12: 30 so I'm planning to leave at 10 30. It should be fun!
  25. Stunt riding These guys can do it with fun Enjoy
