Hey folks!! I'm new here and hope this hasn't been asked before. I have a '98 Royal Star Tour Classic II with the large leather slope bags. They are beginning to get pretty weather worn and I was wondering if anyone on here has found a good replacement for these or not. I've been watching ebay for months and none have shown up. Any ideas?? Thanks...........Ron

The Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R in 26X6.00R15LT. I think Pegscraper originally found this tire but all the pics I've seen have been of one of the 10-12" wide ones. I finally found a photo of the correct sized tire. No one has tried one yet (and may not for $175) but it sure would look good on our bikes! http://www.ratherbe.us/MTtire.jpg

You folks our west know her, but since hdhtr moved to NC we hadn't had the privilege of meeting his Mrs. He's been to plenty of meets but she never makes them. So some might have thought either she didn't exist or maybe just maybe he was keeping her locked away some where. Well I found out she's real and here's the proof. Now some of you may just recognize that tarp Steve is on well I have it now. So Squid if you end up mailing the dirt let me know so I can send the tarp too. Margaret

I ran acrossed an article about hearing loss, and it's relation to motorcycles, that I found very interesting. There wasn't any online availibility of the article so I did a Google, and found this: http://www.freehearingtest.com/hia_motorcyclefacts.shtml I would have never thought that helmet wind noise could be so damaging over the long run. I'm going to pick up a box of those foam ear plugs. I'm deaf enough already.....

I know this is a Motocycle site but I trust the members here more than anybody else. Thinking of buying a used boat. Wanted to know some of the things I need to watch for. I know its not suppose to have holes in the bottom ? Right ? Found this one close. http://www.boattrader.com/listing/1986-BAYLINER-16-92184658 And this one a lot further away. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=017&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=270233744559&rd=1 Any recommendations would be great.

Hi from over the pond here in the UK July last year i swapped my BMW K1200LT for a 2001 Venture to enable my wife who has a disability a weakness to her left leg which makes it difficult to get aboard, So a lower and easier bike to mount was purchased the Venture it had all the toys the beemer has and a nice big fat saddle to rest my ample behind on. After living with this bike for a month ( let me first apologise for my next comment) What a load of F****N C*** this pile of S*** is. Its heavy and doesnt corner the worst bike i have ever owned. I need to get rid of it but guess what S*** happens i find myself out of work so it has to stay at least for a while till new work can be found and funds raised to get a bike that corners. 9 months on still out of work, world recession, no work. Ive read a few threads on the forum and hear a lot about downsizing the front tyre to 130, so found a nice man who had a set of avon venoms white walls for sale so they were fitted front 130/90 16 rear 150/90 15 WOW!!!!!! This turns a real pig into such a riders bike it corners so easy and slow speed handling is great should have done this earlier its a pleasure to ride and can cope with all that the UK,s B roads can throw at it After 10 months I am converted, its the Dogs

Has anyone ever put Nitrogen in their shocks? Front or rear once you find the ideal pressure for the way you ride. Would it be feasible to do that or not? I see and read about people installing it in their tires and just wondered if in the shocks would even make it worth while? I found where "I" like the shocks at and found that I need to keep checking them for pressure. My thought was with the nitrogen I may not need to check but once a year? (Can you say , LAZY)?

Ok gave up on ford ranger, they are going out of production, and decided to small a vehical. Started researching Chev. Colorado, truck, found front end , and tire problems, and few more problems. Gave up on that. Ok, so started shopping for a Silverado!! Great, truck, and really good deals, but then I found out about all the brakeing problems, from about 2001 to 2006 or so, and maby 07 and 08. Rust on rotors, and calipers, and lots of problems with the actuation system. And the kicker, GM was stonewalling untill the Feds stepped in. I know, this is old news, but I guess I missed it. OK, a salesman at dealer e-mailed me that all these problems have been fixed, on the 2009 Model, Silverado's !!! Can I trust him, ??? Does anybody here have knowlege of Brake problems with 2009 to about 2008 GM pickup truck ???? GM was blameing it on Road Salt. Funny their trucks are the only vehicals that were effected by the salt on the roads. Hmmmm ?? I can't find any confirmation, that the 09 models have had the Brakeing systems fixed. Or maby all those postings on " edmonds.com " are bull ??

After reading recent posts about mounting gauges it got me to thinking more about mounting a water temperature gauge. I wanted to do something that could mount from the handlebars via a RAM mount. I've spent a little time today and visited some local parts stores and online sites and I think I may have found a solution. It was recommended that I use a marine gauage because they are sealed better. I found a web site that has everything I think I need except the actual RAM mount. Marine Water Temp http://www.egauges.com/vdo_ind.asp?Type=Elec_Engine_Temp&Series=Chr_Ultra_Mar&PN=ATM-200762-35 Sender http://www.egauges.com/vdo_indS.asp?Sender=ATM_95_Temp&PN=ATM-2258 Adapter http://www.egauges.com/vdo_indA.asp?PN=R7965 Housing http://www.egauges.com/vdo_indA.asp?PN=CD1200-52 I welcome your opinions on this before I place my order. I went back to Wal-Mart to clean out their stock of this magnificent ABS epoxy and BOOM! They were out and didn't even have the display any longer. A severe panic set in so I went on a mission and finally found it at O'Reilly Auto, AutoZone and K-Mart. Wheew...a close call! You might still have it at Wal-Mart where you live, but I'm pretty certain these others will carry it for quite a while.

We had a couple of nice days and I was able to get out for a ride. I had picked up some road crud and so I decided to clean the windshield. That is when I found it very loose. I popped the trim piece and found four very loose screws and one completely out. I could not believe they had grown so loose on 2,000 miles since install. When I installed the windshield, I had tightened the screws as much as possible after hearing the problems one of our members had with his windshield coming off at 60 mph. Just wanted to let anyone with a Clearview Windshield to know they may need to check the windshield. Be Safe

Hi, I've been in Switzerland for 3 weeks and found a German equivilent to the International Motorcycle Show in Friedrichshafen just across Lake Constance from where I'm at in Rorschach. It was held in the Zepplin Exhibit and manufacturing plant. So I went and had good fun. All the usual type vendors, Manufacturers, and even some indoor Motosport and Trials riding exhibitions. Talk to a guy at the Yamaha exhibit, haltingly...my german sucks and his english was marginal, and he said they do not sell RSV's in Germany, guess you have to import. I showed my wall paper I keep on the cell phone of the wife and I cruisin along on the '05 Silver dream. I found a Venture Royale and took a pic. These are hardy souls that came to this event .....it is about 38 degrees. The pic looking down the bikes......well thats a pond....and it's frozen solid. The worlds biggest bike was a trip, too. Auf Weidersein Jim
