I started my project of converting my WOC fairing onto this bike. It was set up for the LC1500 and they don't make brackets for the RSTD at WOC. I'm making my own and picked up a piece of aluminum yesterday and got it bet 90 degrees today and started cuting them out to fit. I will update this as I go along in case anyone else needs to do this in the future.

I was digging through the junk box the other day. Found a set of caliper covers off my old 83 VR. Yes:banana: more safety chrome!! Where can I put them. Wouldn't fit on the front. But on the back they make a nice license plate frame. Added a couple of lights and oblonged the holes to make them fit. I still have the old style Alberta plate (huge) so I don't know if it will work with smaller plates. But this should get the old gears turning.

I promise this will be the last question or two about the rear shock (from me anyway). I have a '99 RSV that I am putting a new rear shock on. I have been assured that the newer shock, that was changed starting with '05, will fit. The newer shock has, I'm assuming, a vent hose. What do I do with it? Is there a certain place it has to be routed to?

Will my RSV fit in a 5'x9' U-haul ramp trailer? They don't have any of the motorcycle trailers available here. Anyone used one?

I bought the Wii Fit Plus last weekend and started it Monday. Been religious with it all week and it's paid off......6 lbs in 6 days. I have also walked on the treadmill while doing the game. The Fit really does make working out interesting. Now if I can just get to 225 by August for my 10 year high school reunion I will be alright. I'll keep ya'll updated Oh, I started at 287 (not ashamed, but not proud either) Ben

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=300373641644&view=all&tid=399301566020 Someone mentioned that a Goldwing driver's backrest fit their first gen so I nabbed this one hoping their right. Everything looks identical to the one I had before. Except for the mounting hardware. But I already have that. I'll let you guys know if it doesn't fit.

awhile back somebody posted a pic of red pointed rear turn signal lenses that fit the standard turn signal. Similar to the old caddy/chevy cars from the fifties. I would be interested in adding them to my bike, but not if I have to change the whole blinker. I noticed that the Strats have a pointed clear lens, and wonder if they would fit the rstd/venture. Any help would be appreciated

I was just doing some surfing as came across this. Does anyone here have an opinion about these filters?? I didn't see one listed for our bikes, but they said in the article that they build custom to fit. Just wondering has anyone tried one of these on anything of their own. http://www.digitalprovisions.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=FARKLEMASTER&Category_Code=SCOTTS

There is an 84 Mk1 Std near my house, has the 2nd gear problem but is really clean ~27K mi and CHEAP. Haven't driven it yet but owner says it runs well, he had it sold but the buyer balked on the test drive when it "had a shifting problem". He said "make me an offer, I want it out of my way" Thinking of buying as a parts store for my 88 but my research says a lot of parts wont fit (but a lot will). Can the Gen 1 experts here confirm or correct my list. Thanks Parts that WILL fit ???? Carbs Clutch basket Starter Stator Regulator/rectifier TCI Fairing plastic header pipes & Collector Misc Electronics components Gas tank Fuel Pump Radiator & Fan Instrument cluster Clutch master & slave Brake master (F&R) Engine (If I fixed 2nd gear) Wheels (minus rotors) Parts that WONT fit ???? Bags Trunk crash bars pumpkin drive shaft u joint rotors brake calipers fork

I went to the Texas Loan Star Rally this saturday. What a sideshow! I loved it! One of the things I saw where these HD saddle bag guard pouches and bottle holders. http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0465.jpg I have no room for a cup holder on the handlebars and I have been looking for an answer... http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0488.jpg I knew they would be too long to fit the RSV but the price was right and there was no sign of 'HD' on it anywhere. I decided to us my degree in Fred-N-Barny engineering to make it fit. I picked up some snaps from the local hardware and using my Fred-N-Barny tools, I managed to come up with a nice addition to the bike. http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0470.jpg http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0473.jpg The top portion of the bag snapped right in place and fit fine. Note that these bags come in 'left or right side' versions. This is a 'right' side bag. http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0471.jpg http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0474.jpg I simply folded the lower tab over so it fit snugly and using a hollow punch I made the holes for the snaps. http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0476.jpg After affixing the snaps I trimmed the tab for a better appearance. http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0477.jpg Here you can also see where I removed 2 original snaps. http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0478.jpg I am pleased with the results. http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0480.jpg http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0481.jpg http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0483.jpg http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0486.jpg http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w337/Owen064/IMG_0487.jpg Now to find a 'left' with only one large pouch.

was out wondering around today and remembered that a local Victory dealership was going out of business its been three weeks since i was there last so i went over there to check out the remaining stock walked in and seen some tires on the rack that said 50% off now whats the odds that they would have one to fit a RSV. not only did they have the back they also had the front to match Dunlops 404 WWW got both of them for $150 plus tax.

While at daytona this weekend I was looking for a new helmet for my (cold) night driving up in Jacksonville, FL. I was at the Helmet Shop and found the new Nolan N43 Trilogy. Now I tried on Nolan's in the past and they alway rubbed on my forhead but this one has been changed to fit my noggon great. Price-eee at about $240 bucks but take a look into it and tell me what you think of it. I didn't buy it... only because I had not done my research yet and I stepped away from the counter when I started thinking about putting my intercom onto it. If I installed the set I now have (J+M) I would have to cut a chunck out of the new helmet so I am thinking hard about putting an other $175 into a head gear that will fit right into the helmet (like their n-comm unit does). Anyway, I did find out that this new N43 helmet over in Europe is called the N43 Air. That one has a better air flow then the trilogy but is not sold here.'''' Now that is the one I would like to buy! So if anyone has the nowhow on how I can get it...(like some of our venture buddys over in Europe) please help me out. ken
