i have been replacing coils on Silver alot . i think they are getting old ? i have changed #2 coil twice , i think it is from heat and age ? the 1st time i changed #2 , it took out my TCI from a direct short after the the coil got hot [ GeorgeS helped me with that 1 , thanks George !] i am thinking about a after market coil to replace the old ones , anybody know what the specs. are on a 1st gen coil are ? have anybody tried a after market coil on a 1st gen.? also i am thinking about moving the coils closer the spark plugs , making them easyer to change and shorter spark plug leads ? Any ideas ? thanks Thom

i have used Pam for years on my big truck and cars and bike , before you go for a ride , spray on a light coat of Pam on the parts the lov bugs hit but at the end of the day make sure you wash it and the lov bugs off , the lov bugs come right off easily and no harm to your chrome or paint Thom

a few tricks are make sure you have the class set to the high side , drive the front tire up on a 2X6 board . Thom -

Ok , heres my 2 cents and i live down here , i like the new laws ! i am a member of ABATE and we do not have a problem with it [ we're the nuts that got rid of the helmet law ] the new laws were made to address a bad problem we have in fl. manly sport bike , they are not just killing them selfs but they were starting to hurt other people too . the new laws works , we are having less sport bike wrecks ! the high speed laws are the same for cars but 2 separate laws were made because all the news channels picked up on the mcs. and all the mc riders got the word . if you think the new mc laws are bad , you should check out the street racing laws , if you get cought watching a street race , 250.00 och !! and that law is just for cages . by the way the new law started july 1 not oct. 1 and so far nobody has had to pay the new fine . we got SUN , for about 15 mins. but i got to go for a ride , needed more food plus a bad case of cabin fever i was gone for a hr. , got home just in front of a lot of rain , stuck back inside at least i got lots of junk food ! Thom

Ken , i hear you guys got up to 26 in. of rain in the last 2 days ! we will go over the 20 in. mark to day , looks like you mite see the sun today , lucky you , only had the power go out for short periods here but it helps being the only generator repair man in the area , i got a 10 k in the driveway and a 5k out back . i do not use a battery powered tv i use a d.c. boat battery and a small inverter and a battery charger , i can use my reg. tv up to 10 hrs. on one charge plus charge my laptop . i bet you are so glade you came back to FLA. to enjoy this with the trike !! lol lets take a vote and let Mini have the next one , OK ? witch maybe the end of next week . all my grass is drowned , Fay is finely moving north a little bit , i think i,ll ride over to the beach and check it out , ya rite ! my frog toggs are not that good ! Mini i wish you had all this rain , you guys need it more than we do ! maybe you can get the next one . Ruff , in about 3 to 4 days you mite see that houseboat go by , the St.John,s river is going to flood over it banks soon and it will be flooding up there soon ! Thom

been on the eye wall since 8 pm last nite and it sucks !!! lost my attn. and sat dish last nite , wind is gusting to 55 mph so far i have got 16 in. of rain , but the rain gage took a walk sometime last nite . looking out the window a few small trees are down . i hope Fay will move soon !! i have never seen a storm sit in 1 place this long , it has over stayed it welcome ! i got to ride a 0 mile 1700 roadstar , a friend just bought a new 07 one for 8900.00 with a lot of extras on it and he let me be the 1st one to ride it !! now my feelings about it , it is not my cup of tea , at the floor boards vib. is very bad the bars are old school , and it as a very short wheel base , 1st gear is ok but 2nd gear is very nice , need a back rest to hold you in the seat , it has a lot of power after 1st gear , very nice , the bike , too me is not a touring bike but a very nice cruiser , if anybody is looking for 1 check your local yamaha dealer , yamaha has sent 1 to most dealers to sell cheap ! did anybody steal my new m/c , i found a white 88 1st gen , this one was a knock out bike , very good lookin , called the owner , he said somebody was going to look at it and he would call me if the guy did not buy it , jim called him yesterday am was told still not sold , i call him after i got off work to tell him i'll buy it . he told me somebody from clearwater fl bought it . is anybody here the lucky new owner of a very pretty 88 white 1st gen ? if you are CONGRATS and i hate you . thom
