Looks solidly built....Piggy Backer would work, but just looking at this one for now... Thanks....Still turns heads....I've got about 28,000 on mine....change the oil each year regardless of miles....First new battery in 2009......Plugs in 2008.....Valve shims three years ago (all normal service)....That's it....It's still "FAST".....VERY FAST for a 790cc....The way Triumph geared the bike and the torque at low rmp's still amaze me everytime I get on her....REALLY....It's amazing....$3,800 in accessories....Here's what I still like...I can be going 60 mph and look through the rear view mirrors.....NO VIBRATION PERIOD!....Very few will do that... I have a 2002..(Their first year out...100th Anniversary Year.)...Thinking about selling it?...Just don't put enough miles on her...Me and the Little Lady always go out on the RSV....I put less than 800 miles on the Triumph last two year....Regularly maintained.....Still runs like a Bat Out of H***.... Thanks to all for the input....Mine had been slightly bent before.....This time they bent WAY UP...Straight up...I took everything off the right side...replaced the bars and tried to straighten to what I thought was original position...did not work "twice"...Decision...get new bar and order supports.....Lesson learned here...NOTE: My local Yamaha Dealer matched the lowest price I could find on the web....NOT Bad... Thanks again for the input.... Long Tall Lynchburg, VA

Do you take them off of the bike before you try to straighten them? How would you use a crowbar on them? Would like to save the $250 for a new one... Long Tall

Anyone here try to straighten one of these out? Was doing some cleaning this PM and had the bike in a position that caused it to fall to the right (as I set on it)...Top of Bar is bent Upwards...Repair, Replace Thoughts please... Long Tall Lynchburg, VA

Worked fine on my end also....Email notice....Paid PayPay....Good for another year.. Thanks Long Tall Lynchburg, VA

I used the Risers from Barons....I'm 6'5" and they brought the bars back and up...The rubber spacers slid right in from the side..Been on since 2006..... NOTE: VERY IMPORTANT>>>>>Put a THICK cover over the tank when your doing the work...Enough said...Lesson Learned....Dent is about the size of a small piece of broken pencil lead, but will never go away.... I can do this with my digital point and shoot canon SD 880...One of the setting on the camera.... Point at the color you want to have as the dominant color...hold the button down then press...Everything else is in B&W....Only that color is in the pic... Pretty cool effect, but don't use it much... Just an FYI for those with digital cameras...May want to explore its functions... Long Tall

Ordered the grips at the below link. Anyone using these? Suppose to be able to use the OEM weights so that is why I ordered them...Wanted something other than the Kuryakyn Grips.... Here's the link to the grips page age Big Bike Parts.. The OEM weights will not slide into the grip ends...JUST a LITTLE to big... Also I assume that on the throttle side there is no need to open up the cable housing? Just remove grip like the left side.... Thoughts if any would be appreciated... Long Tall replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
I know it may not be you, but about a month ago, I saw a commercial with a couple on a Midnight Venture...On the screen the couple was riding right to left and a quick wave from the lady passenger.... Did the re-wind on the DVR to show the wife the Venture... Long Tall Lynchburg, VA -
Long Tall here in Lynchburg, VA.... I had a friend give me a Show Chrome and I installed on the RSV about three months ago.....6'5"...240lb....Wife started getting a lot of wind that she did not get with the stock shield...I even noticed some wind....I hated looking through the stock shield and when it rained it "sucked"....I got her a half face shield for her three snap helmet and she handles it OK now.....Mostly covers here eyes and down to her nose...It is not a full face cover...She likes to take a drink of water from her cup now and then. Like V7Goose I'll not go back to looking through the windshield.... I though about cutting the stock shield, but ended up with the Show Chrome...I MIGHT put the tall stock back on for winter riding...Not sure? Long Tall in Lynchburg, VA

I live in Lynchburg, VA....THE SKYLINE DRIVE IN MY OPINION HAS A LOT OF KODAK MOMENTS, BUT IT ALSO AS A SPEED LIMIT OF 35 MPG. WAS ON IT LAST YEAR COMING BACK FROM GETTYSBURG. I COULD NOT WAIT TO GET OFF.....BRPKWY IS 45-50 MPG...THINGS MOVE A LITTLE FASTER....JMHO I HAVE DONE THE ENTIRE BRPWY...THE BEST PART I THINK IS FROM BOONE, NC TO THE END OF THE PKWY IN NC. THE LAST PORTION SOUTH OF ASHEVILLE HAS MULTIPLE TUNNELS AND ALSO THE HIGHEST POINT ON THE PKWY. MY WIFE AND I ALSO STAY AND IRONHORSE MC LODGE....WE LOVE IT....CHEROHALA IS A "MUST DO"....DEALS GAP IS A DO ON TIME, BUT OVER-RATED....I HAVE SOME ROADS IN IN CENTRAL VA THAT DROP OF THE BRPKWY WITH A WHOLE LOT MORE TWISTIES...JUST NOT AS LONG. THE "ENTIRE" AREA IN GRAHAM COUNTY, NC..(DEALS GAP, CHEROHALA, ETC) IS A RIDING MECA....ENJOY....STOP AND TAKE MULTIPLE PIX... LONG TALL LYNCHBURG, VA

I have a 2002 Bonneville America as well as my 2006 RSV....I bought a Triumph 2 piece suite when I got the Bonny....Found an article later that had the suit listed as the reviewers #2 choice....along with their 1 piece Chevron suite... I have been caught in multiple downpours and have NEVER gotten wet when I have the jacket and pants buttoned up right....Pants have a mid thigh zipper on the outside for easy on/off with a size 12 riding boot.... Rain suite comparison link here: FYI http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/accessoriesandgear/rainsuit_comparison/index.html Pictures of both the two piece and one piece suite here: FYI http://www.motorcyclestore.us/triumph/clothing/outerwear/paddock/ SIDE NOTE: I wear Choko Rain Boots....They cover entire boot and go up to mid calf....zipper/velcro on/off...Again...nothing gets wet....Priced right also...Example...1 1/2 hour down pour riding to bike week in Myrtle a few years ago....Solid downpour....All clothing stayed dry... Boots here: http://www.goldwingcountry.com/detail.cfm?Category_ID=129&manufacturer_ID=437&product_ID=20116&model_ID=0&sblid_name=Wing_Gear_Rain_Booties&utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=na&utm_campaign=froogle&utm_content=20116 That's my two cents worth... who makes white wall tires
Long Tall replied to stevel's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I have to go with Sylvester on the WWW 404's. Not knocking anyone else's tire choice, but I have a bud that owns a RSV and he is a full time motorcycle cop in VA Beach....His choice is the the Dunlop 404's. He praises them for riding in rain... I bought my last set from Southwest Moto...A lot from here have also....I had my tires on the 4th day from when I ordered them... $218.00 Total Delivered...Right Now from the site...
