My Mom once said, "If I had known grandchildren were so much fun, I would have had them first".

Because it is nearly impossible to stop a bike (if the guy refuses to stop) without putting him down and very likely killing him/her. Can you imagine the sh$$storm that cop would be facing if that happened. I really feel for these cops...can't even imagine how frustrating it must be.

Turn signals and speedo cable
Yamamike replied to bags529's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Speedo...did the outer casing come loose from the top? If not, you may not have to remove it, just replace the cable itself. If it did and you have small hand, you may be able to reconnect it by removing the left signal light. While you're in there the fast flashing is an indication you have a bulb burned out........... Dang...always someone beating me with a reply...... -
fast idle on a hot engine.

Hate to point out the obvious but just because someone had a vacuum leak at a certain spot does not mean your is (if there is) the same. That said, spraying some (not too) flammable liquid can locate a vacuum leak pretty quick. Some say WD40 works...just do a very small area at a time and wait a few seconds. You'll know you found it when your idle speed goes up suddenly. -
Rear Shock Replacement with Remote Adjuster

If your dealership is any good and/or you squeal loud enough, they can do a "policy adjustment" where warranty is concerned. M2C -
That's very true Carl but there are many shops where people are told your ride will be serviced in a day or two when they know it will be at least a week before they can even look at it. Fortunately there are places where one is told the truth at the risk of loosing the business. I know of one such place here in the GTA if anyone is looking. No I don't own it or get anything for referrals...just had a good experience.

Vinegar is GREAT at removing hard water spots and waaaaaay cheaper. Just sayin'. But do wash and wax afterwards!

"As far as paint...I was going to coat it all in flat (bar b Q grill) black or something close." M2Cnts...that flat black might turn the thing into a BBQ! Might want to consider a color that reflects the sunlight better.

I had about 5K on the Kendas when I sold the Virago and they still looked new. It is however a much lighter bike. On another note...I found the Venture was still wandering slightly and wanting to follow the road snakes a little. Then this morning I brought the pressure up from 38 to 48 psi...wow!! She tracks straight as an arrow and I hardly notice the snakes! What a difference.

I plan to leave Brampton at 7am...don't know how many will be coming along. Will keep an eye on this thread.

"Nice bike" and "2nd Gen" in the same breath...that's just wrong!

I put Kenda Kruz's on front and rear of my steed cuz I loved them so much on the Virago. Any suggestions on tire pressures??

Handle bar adjustment
Yamamike replied to Flyinfool's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hey Jeff, I did see someone who had the bar "risers" swapped (left on right, right on left). This might solve your problem. I would certainly try that before modifying the bars. m2c -
Atsa nica! Seems to be in great condition. Sweet!!

Oh wait...I thought you meant $104.00 for the shipping cost alone...DOH! That is quite reasonable.
-
OUCH!!! I suspect you found that out after it was delivered??
-
Bum...they want $180.00...I know I can get one for way less than that even with shipping. Does anyone know if these shields are made of acrylic??
