  1. 10/16/11 met Jim from Charlston 04 rsmv invited him to join 10/16/11 black red in Gatlinburg riding 2up 10/17/11 I think gold n black PGR banner on windshield on the dragon and again on either the Foothills Parkway or Cades Cove route.
  2. Stay the course Dan I've got some leaves you can rake too.
  3. 4 lane divided hwy traveling west I'm in right lane cage in left lane behind me another cage pulls out from side street turning west. Traveling 70mph grabbed both brakes an signaled left but cage behind closing to fast and not enough room that I felt I could safely stop. So I grabbed some throttle and used what little room there was about 2' on the shoulder and passed on the right. I know that's not a good thing to do but my gut told me it was my only option. I had just read Dons post last night and another one the other day on panic stops and praticing them at 80mph. Anything else I could have done besides rearending the cage. Any constructive comments you won't offend me.
  4. I just cant get over her quick reaction. It seems mounting and dismounting has been a problem that we finally have worked out. Kickstand down just about every time me leaning over the tank. Heck she was off, bike back up and her back on before I realized it was time to get out of the middle of the street like an idiot. Surprised I didn't bend the handlebars.
  5. My wife bless her saved our a$$ today tried making a u turn to get out of bumper to bumper traffic in Gatlinburg Tn. It was to tight an the bike went over at a dead stop was holding for all I was worth I'm 6'3 next thing I know she is beside the bike shoving us back up right without a scratch and then hops back on like it was no big deal. Still shaking my head because most the time she does good to get on and off. Was so proud of her and told her so what a gal even with her short legs. The highway peg did fold up about halfway that's how close it was.
  6. Passed one today on our tenn. Trip didnt know about it till tonight but. Can't post a pic with my iPod anyway.
  7. Have to admit I've never had this much fun spending money what scares me is the wife is all for it nothing holding me back. Not sure I'm mature enough for this responsibility.
  8. Not me my wife said I didn't look good on one and I like to look good every where I go
  9. This site is costing me way more than 12 dollars a year. First thing Road king mod around a 100.00 bucks. Then aux cables for Ipod an splitter at the cassette deck 240.00 (including Ipod ). Avon tires 330.00 and now Steve Wagner grill 170.00 that's a total of :headache: 840.00 not counting what the wife has spent. But that new grill sure looks purty. But all of these new friends is priceless.
  10. I have an 07 you can have but It's pretty scratched up.
  11. Was that MC motorsports that is a good price. Looked back on my scribble paper and I think had figured 284.00 but sometimes I cant read my writing after a day or two. I had been pleased with J&P service so far and limited on time so I just went with them. Four more days and we get try them out. Good Luck and safe riding.
  12. For me I haven't been happy with Jc Whitney your experience may be better for me they have been slow to ship and if it is back ordered they don't let you know. Also have figured out they don't have much in stock everything I've tried has shipped straight from the manf. I ordered a starter for an atv an canceled the order 2 hours later but they said it was to late it was in the other guys hands two weeks later a starter showed up a month later a letter wanting there starter back. But they were nice about it mailed me a shipping label dropped it off at the post office. But that's just my opinion of them.
  13. 331.73 for a set of Avon venom's at J&P cycles. they guarantee them not to be over two years old. Just had set installed this past Saturday so the price should still be good took less than a week to deliver and mine were less than a year old. Don't remember the date code or the individual prices but i can get them if you want. That price included shipping an taxes.

Again I appreciate your knowledge an quick response. Another, thought I would like to get together sometime for a meet an eat. I grew up in Hurst and rode the back roads on the back of my mom and dads bike all over Colleyville and Grapevine things sure have changed out there not many back roads left are there. 17. Thanks for all the tips guys picked my bike up this morning an eased it home about 40 miles had the dealer put 3 psi in each fork air up the rear and a few more checks an we will be ready to leave on the 14th.
  18. great post anyway we could get an emoticon that does that it could come in handy on here with all of our vets.
  19. I asked this question some where else but here goes again. I've done the street glide set up on my RSV already. With this "adapter bracket " wouldn't aftermarket HD slipons like the Vance an Hines big ovals fit our bikes or some of the others out there.
  20. I like it Goofy can I call you Goofy looks good besides if I wasn't worried about status an comfort I would probably bought another bike say something like a Gold Wing :225:It gets hot down here in the south
  21. Thanks I was just being a smart a@# about the grinder an sand paper. Will be leaving for Tenn. on the 14th going to hit the big slab for the first several hundred miles so that ought to take care of it if that's all there is to it. Thanks
  22. Dealer suppose to have my new tires mounted by tomorrow. Whats the best method of scuffing them in a 4inch grinder with a wire brush attachment or just some sand paper.
