  9. That was faster than I thought it would be good job whats next. Can't say a 2nd gen has never been to a drag strip
  10. :rotf::rotf:Fun isn't it new year might as well have some new humor :cool10:
  11. So who's the faster snow shoveler. Maybe we should start a new contest. I'm sure some of the 1st Genners would be up for a challenge. Me personally I have no experience In the matter.
  12. You can make a template out of a piece of poster board or thin cardboard like a show box. Accuracy will be key and holes in plates should be exactly the same size as your bolts maybe just a hair bigger so that the rack rests on the plates. Spend enough time polishing and I bet they will never be noticed unless you point it out.
  13. Those first gens sure do sparkle in the moon light when covered in that white stuff.
  14. Was that when the Warden shoved you out of the bed.
  15. I agree also about the mounting method but a simple fix would be to go to Lowes,Tractor Supply, Home Depot and pick up a piece of aluminum strap say maybe 1/8 x 1'' cut two pieces round the ends drill matching holes with rack and polish. They will conform to your trunk lid and help distribute the weight.
  16. Why not drive the hack up on a block just saying
  17. couldn't tell in the pick but where did you hang that plastic handicap thingy:stickpoke:oh and the bikes nice too.

  20. :rotf:Just remember the gun you have with you is better than the gun you leave at home. I don't trust any of my buddies that much so I always carry bigger.
  21. Hey I thought you won it
  22. I can sympathize with you on the dealer issue and leaks. I'm sure others will be along shortly to help with your wobbling. One question is have you had I think the 16000 mile service done where you repack the front bearings and adjust. I know you can put new tires on and old car with worn parts and it will drive great for a little while. I know 20,000 isn't much on these bikes but somethings up. Have you done the bounce check of the front end with it up on a jack.
  23. Just a :stickpoke:but those HD guys dont have Venture assistance on the road. Have fun and enjoy the ride.
  24. Thanks Goose and I already forgave you for the other thing. I'm waiting to hear back from another dealer in Longview Tx. Its a lot further from home but I found out the owner is the previous owner of the one in Texarkana back when things were good and came highly recommended. hadn't even thought about the contamination issue glad you mentioned it.
