  1. Thanks everyone. I'll take another crack at it this weekend. One of my problems is if it is nice enough to work on the bike, I end up going riding instead. Is that considered lazy?
  2. Okay, I finally got around to looking at my RSTD exahust tips. I wanted to turn them around so they looked like most of the pictures in the reviews I've read. I feel that it makes the bike look longer, lol. I found what looks like a set screw hole at the bottom of the muffler housing. However, I tried several allen wrenches and those that fit in the hole didn't grab anything and other wrenches were just to big. I guess I knocked off those particular brain cells when I was younger. What am I missing? ps. no picture yet. I added a drivers backrest, my gps mount and wiring but that is about it. 2007 RSTD. All help would be appreciated.
  3. Sewell makes a PC to TV converter Part No. SW-22050 to convert your vga output to rca. I bought it about 6 months ago so it should be a current product. I use it to connect my onld CRT TV to a PC dedicated as a home entertainment PC. You'll have to play around with the unit to get the best picure. The instructions are poor. Yes, I know it seems pointless with an old TV but I can stream movies, record local tv, and access internet radio stations all in on unit. The unit cost $32.49. You could also go with a video card of various flavors.
  4. Pictures will be coming in time. I don't have one of the RSTD yet. Thank you all for the greetings and the info, especially the cyl. head bolt torque bulletin. As it turns out my bike falls within the VIN range and has not had the issue addressed. I called my local dealer and will take the bike in next weekend.
  5. Thanks for the informaion. I want too keep this sweet bike as nice as possible. I scratched my Shadow tank using a magnetic tank bag. Great idea, poor execution. The old Voyager I just traded in was, well, pretty beat when I got it. My new ride is a 2007 bone stock red and black RSTD. It only has 3400 miles on it so I think I got a good deal. I think the 3m might be worth a try. This site was a good source of information when determining if the RSTD might be for me. I'll be joining as a regular memeber in the near future.
  6. Hi all, I'm new to the forum and to RSTD's. After looking at bikes for about one year I had narrowed my possible choices down to either a RSTD or a Kawy Nomad. I missed one great deal on an RSTD but found another and picked it up yesterday. I've only put about 80 miles on it so far and I am very happy. More importantly, the wife is happy. I want to avoid mistakes made with past bikes. Does anyone use the 3M paint protection film and if so, can you give me your thoughts?
