  1. I have a set off of my 08 Venture, if you are interested. Check out my ad in classifieds and just let me know
  2. Would you mind posting some pictures or sending some to my email, dmcates@wk.net. It would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Damon Cates
  3. I bought a Mustang seat for my 08 Venture. I had it on long enough to do a 20 mile ride. Came home boxed it back up and shipped it back. I didn't like it at all. Made me sit way to high and I just didn't see that it was worth the money. There is a man on here in TX that puts memory foam in the seats. He did mine and my wife and I are well pleased. That was the best money I have spent on a seat. But that is just my opinion. I am sure there are others who will praise the Mustang seat. Damon
  4. I wish I had seen this post before I built my adapter. I guess I will have to make another and make it longer. Let me know what you come up with to solve the problem. Damon

These are some pictures of the Foot Hills Parkway. Just one of the roads of Hwy 129(The Dragon) that is a beautiful ride.

  8. Where did you get your adapter? I live about 60 miles from Paris TN and road down on my Venture with my trailer. After watching them lift my bike I bought one on the spot, but they didn't say anything about an adapter? Did you get one there or from Carbon One? And I think the Pit Bull is the best jack on the market. Sincerely, Damon Cates
  9. I have a Road Dog GT trailer. Unlike most trailers my cargo are sets between the wheels and not on top of it. It does make my trailer a little wider but it sets lower to the ground and is not affected by wind like a lot of trailers are. I have no problems pulling my trailer at any speed, but I rarely ride faster than 70 with or without a trailer.
  10. I don't have one of these yet but am seriously thinking about getting one. I have never had my tank off but I have split the fairing to install a headlight modulator. There is nothing to splitting the fairing. My only question about the MP3 install is how to get the wiring through the little hole in the trunk. It has a square plug on one end and a cigarette lighter plug in on the other. So unless the wiring harness splits or you have to install one of the plugs after you run the wires then I am not sure how it goes through the trunk. Ironhead
  11. Yes, that is what I am referring to. They called it the lower casing. The engine actually splits horizontally right across where the clutch shaft seal is.
  12. Rick: Be sure to take time to see the Fontana Dam if you ride The Dragon. It is on Hwy 28 I believe. That highway is right there at Deals Gap. Fontana Dam is the second tallest Dam in the United States. If you saw the movie,"The Fugitive" then you will recognize that dam as the one Harrison Ford jumped off of. I have ridden The Dragon now 4 times. I personally have never had any trouble. I did have a group of crotch rockets pass my on my first trip and about 5 curves later they were picking one of them and their bike up out of a ditch. Luckily no one was hurt. There are several good rides in the area, just like everyone else has said. You can go up to Townsend TN and just out of Townsend you will see the Foothills Parkway. The Foothills Parkway will take you right to The Dragon. It comes out right in front of the beautiful lake that you will see on The Dragon. Both the Foothills Parkway and The Dragon are beautiful rides. And there is a great pull off to take pictures of the lake. I have ridden the Cherahola Skyway two times and it is beautiful. Hardest thing about that ride is not stopping at every look out area to take pictures. It is 51 beautiful miles across the Skyway. Hwy 43 that leads you to the Skyway is very crooked. Once you get on the Skyway the curves can still be very tricky. They are not quite as sharp but long and drawn out. I have not ridden the Blue Ridge Parkway yet, but I hear it is amazing! Sincerely, Damon Cates
  13. I think if you check you will see that the Venture has more storage as far as the trunk and saddle bags than the wing. I have a 08 Venture and my step-dad has on 07 Wing and that is the first thing he noticed.
