  1. :12101:I put the stocks back on a couple months back after a year with rk's and i'm staying with them for sure. T he throttle response seems crisper with stocks and now i can hear the radio. p.s. cure for the whine, ac/dc back in black "cranked" and soft earplugs.
  2. I'm all for the lead poisoning !!!!
  3. The leveling links alone give a semi sport bike feel. I took some corners this weekend pretty quick where before i would slow way down and work it thru. Amazing how a little change can have such drastic results which is good cause were off to tennessee this week for a week.
  4. :clap2:Here it goes: bought new to me in 2008, a silver 2005 rsv 23,000 miles. LOVED IT, bought sight unseen, test rode 20 feet into trailer. 24,000 miles rearend started squeaking before 2 week trip: outta love. New avons and greased hub pins back in LOVE. On our 2 week trip started running kinda crappy , rough and unresponsive: OUTTA LOVE. Get home, $100 morgan carbtune:back in LOVE. 25,000 miles seat getting a little weak, sore butt: OUTTA LOVE Rick butler works on seat : back in LOVE road king mufflers start to sound like crap: OUTTA LOVE lastweek put stocks back on, made and installed leveling links: back in LOVE in a big way. this dang bike will let you down sometimes but a couple tweeks and she gets back in your graces and she's the greatest. If theres a better bike built today i will kiss your @$$.
  5. I set mine at 70mph gps and on flat hiway it holds dead on, however on slight hills and dales it tends to modulate way to much. it seems as though there may be some slop in the throttle cables that the cruise can't keep up with.
  6. cold: tourmaster jett2 , ins. pants and gloves , helmet... HOT: husker t-shirt, jeans , rockports...
  7. :guitarist 2:stockers are back on, the carbs are synched and it runs better than ever... quiet too..
  8. :Venture:that sounds pretty sweet, might have to look into those !!!!! thanx
  9. thanks for all the good info, i definately need to come up with something . we take long long rides and want the proper sound. they are slash down $30 plus ship.
  10. :fiddle:I must be getting old,HA!!! Anyway goodbye to the rk mufflers "overrated?" I have tried them all rk screaming eagle , stock 09 ultra mufflers, older rk mufflers and i came to the conclusion that they don,t sound that good. this hi revving v4 should sound like a ferarri not a john deere. Is there any pipes that make it sound mellower and not raspy ? I am going to put the stocks back on this week "glad i kept them" and never look back. Kinda felt sorry for all the folks i passed having to listen to that !!
  11. :think:wheres the link on cleaning sparkplug cap, contacts, spring ect...... 2nd gen.
  12. well, if your like us and ride two up 90% of the time the venture is tops, watch the ultras go by with the gal all smooshed up against the driver, not very cool... every ride we go on our bike draws its fair amount of attention plus we dare to be a little different... as far as the hd attitude, little weewees will do that....lol
  13. :thumbsup2:i have same exact gps and today i got my setup from gps city.com.. it came in a kit ubolt,3.75" arm, and cradle for the 255w.. $39.95 shipped to my door today. part # RAM-B-149-GA25..... will mount this next to riser cap.

    can-am trailer

that fibro is a good looking piece.
  15. :173:Anyone see the new trailer for the can-am spyder??? awesome looking piece, tons of volume, cool design and nice suspension, but $3,999 sounds a little hi. if they drop the price about $800 i'll be the first in line. the silver even matches the 2005 liquid silver.
  16. we'll be there, no colors though, chicago is a tough town....lol
  17. thanks for the help rumboogy, thats the way i'm going.... peace
  18. hard to tell from pics, is that what you did?? thats the look i'm going for. what parts and #'s did you use ??
  19. I need thoughts "pro or amatuer" on a gps mount. I am thinking of the N-B238U standard mount on the plastic cowl, forward and to the left of the gas cap. a 3.5" arm N-B201U to get the unit up closer to the speedo and cass. player. I have the garmin nuvi 255w and i'm thinking this will help keep it out of the wind and weather. the steering should go lock to lock without it beeing in the way, i think. any thoughts please chime in, thanks. tired of getting lost......
  20. we have all 4 bags, saddles, trunk and rack, so far they have been great. the zippers did break on the trunk bag, called bestem and they shipped a new one within a couple days, good people. we pack for a week out with no problems, great investment. tie the rain gaurd on tight.
  21. 2 chrome drink holders "his/hers". and my 6"x9" american flag !!!!
  22. :draming:we got ours from bestem usa. saddlebag, trunkbag, and luggage rack bag. they will hold more than you could pack. the luggage bag broke a zipper and they exchanged it no ??? asked. we use them as reg. luggage for road trips. "car"
  23. My personal experience with screaming eagle pipes are mixed... I had 2005 s.e. pipes off a roadking on for about a year..#1.. actually real quiet #2 seemed to hold the motor back "more restrictive ??" #3 real heavy. earlier this year put on stock 2009 ultraclassic mufflers... # real nice sound.. #2 light weight #3 i think they look better. one of them is a cat. pipe, don't know if it hampers performance.. the carbs synch up well.. anywho my 2 cents.....
  24. mine did same thing, learned to live with it. seems to have gotten a little looser...
