  1. I have owned it since new, so I'm sure it is been never. The swingarm definitely feels tight though
  2. I already have exhaust off bike, "weld leaky joints". I just thought since bolts were accessible I would give it a shot. Every other fastener on bike seemed to be a tad loose.
  3. Is there anything to be gained by retorquing swing arm bolts?? Do not want to remove rear tire "again", just want to retorque bolts IF there is any gain. Do not have time to take it all apart. Thoughts?? 2005 with 65k miles
  4. "YES!!!" At first but the throttle hand is a bit heavy these days.
  5. How do I edit my classified ad. I did it wrong. Lol
  6. I just put a new hagon on two weeks ago aswell as the vmax rearend and have nothing but great things to say about both The rearend really puts the bike in its sweet spot. Smooth and great accel.
  7. well i had the chance to run 3 tanks of gas thru the bike with new vmax rear and my mpg's are up !!! the first tank not so much cause the throttle hand was loving the new found power...hehe I now settled down and the last 2 tanks were 40 and 41 which I have never had with this bike, 38 was the norm and 35 was the low end. anyway the best $$$$ i have ever spent on a bike, kudo's to whoever come up with this.
  8. I just did the skydoc clutch and vmax rearend last week and love love the results. we pull a trailer too and these things cured all the problems, also put in a new hagon shock so were good for another 30,000 miles. just do it....
  9. couldn't have said it better myself. "SEAKING"
  10. I don't have a tach so I can't give specific rpm's but it seems to me if your in 4th gear running 60, the new rear would be a few hundred rpms lower but in 5th gear. I now feel in town or the hiway the gears match up much better with mph. Its just a better match with the engine, I can now go into 5th gear at 50 mph and have great throttle response all the way to whenever. all my speeds are by gps but the speedo is usually 5mph faster.
  11. I cant believe they didn't put this rearend in at the factory. This upgrade is the best $$$$$ I have spent in a long time I also noticed the whine is not as noticeable after the clutch upgrade as well. back in love with the rsv.... theres a couple Harleys in the neighborhood who have a big surprise coming at the next stoplight.....lol
  12. HOLY MOLY its like a new bike.. The vmax rearend is a god send for the 2nd gen venture. This last week I installed the skydoc clutch upgrade, a new hagon shock and the vmax rearend and its like a whole new bike. The clutch hooks up the rearend is a kick in the pants and the shock keeps it all under control, like a new bike. In a previous post I stated after a trip to tenn. pulling a trailer that the bike was all wrong, wrong gears, wrong clutch, shot shock. Now we can't wait for the next road trip. I can't say enough great things a bout the rearend swap. cruising in 5th gear from 50mph to ???? is a joy now. If your like me and spend 95% of your time on 2 lane roads this puts it right in the sweet spot of the powerband, hell I'm hoping the fuel mileage increases too. forget the chrome doodads and trinkets, drop $300 on the vmax rearend and ride ride ride.
  13. WOW, what a week $$$$$$$$$ got back from our trip to Tennessee and now I just ordered a new hagon shock $469, vmax rearend $300, clutch kit from skydoc, $90 and still have to order the clearview windshield. The day before we left the shock dumped some oil but at 50,000 miles I figured it was due, the ride wasn't too bad but seemed a little bouncy soooo new shock. In the mts of tenn. the bikes gearing was all wrong for towing a trailer these gears are much too tall and it only took me 5 years to figure it out...lol wala just ordered vmax rear. Then the clutch started slipping, well you get the picture.. hopefully I will have all this done this time next week and will give full report... it should **** and git and ride like butter !!!! girlfriend is buying the clearview xxl shield with vent, tired of getting beat up on interstates.
  14. I put it on a battery tender all winter and long down times. its a sealed agm so nothing to mess with. old will go in tractor and new one in the bike.
  15. I bought a drag specialties battery #2113-0012 back in july of 2007 and its still going strong. I had it load tested friday and it passed. were leaving in june for 10 day tour down south so I ordered another today to put in before we leave "just in case" but wow 6 years of never failing to start. "drag specialties babee".
  16. well I just bought a hardwire kit on ebay for $19.00. reduces voltage and is direct fit for my gps. thanks for all the input, like I say , this is the most knowladgable forum out there.
  17. so, I'm thinking my idea will work ??? that fuzeblock looks real cool but too much $$$ for me right now.
  18. I just bought xm snap for the bike but now i need another 12 volt source for the gps. can i hardwire gps cord inside fairing to the backside of the 12 volt outlet?? If i do this do i need an inline fuse, if so how many amps?? I was thinking I would drill small hole in fairing to slip wire thru then dab some silicone to wateproof, is this a good idea??
  19. UPDATE: started bike today, ran it for 20 min. and not one drop. back to riding it like I stole it.
  20. fired up the bike yesterday at about 50 degr. and noticed a few drops of antifreeze dripping from the tube thats hooked to bottom of water pump. it seemed to stop after bike warmed up. is this normal?? do i need a new pump?? bikes been stored in garage all winter never under 40 degr. never noticed this before... help
  21. I'm not talking about the overflow tube, I'm talking about the little tube that comes off the bottom of the water pump. its a small1/8" looking thing.
  22. fired up the bike for the 10th time this winter and today saw a little bit of antifreeze dripping from small tube out of water pump wth is this all about. seemed to stop after bike warmed up. looks like about 10 drops worth. any suggestions would be helpful.
  23. anyone out there have a non warped rear rotor they would be willing to sell ?? brand new ones are outta my reach right now and I don't trust ebay's used ones. I have a 2005 rsv. I have rotated and retorqued the rotor twice but still pulsates to much for me. thanx in advance.
  24. Indiana no helmet law if endorsed, no endoesement have to wear helmet and no passengers. I prefer the gov. to stay off my bike, outta my car, outta my house, and the hell outta my dr.'s office.
