I called my local harley stealer this morning to buy an oil filter and the kid at the parts counter said thats it's obsolete?????????? WT?????????????Obsolete? I said, its a harley, you ain't got an oil filter for it? Kid says, nope, you'll have to go aftermarket. I said you don't make parts for what ya sell???????????????? and wonder why us older folks say FTF............... hell, my bikes older than the kid answering the phone selling parts(read that as designer toliet seats, ceiling fans, cat collars and a beautiful dog dish) but don't have parts for an 81 FLHS.............................. go figure....... ok, off the box.............. anyways, nice scoot, its being in the wind that counts, enjoy the new ride!

  8. I'm gonna have to check with redbeard, but I think his is reading in the 220,000 area?
  9. Don you have a point. We need to find out who the investigating LE agency and put pressure on them and their political leaders ( I use that term loosly)to investigate this, and not just file it as closed and leave it up to the insurance company for payment. This was not a motor vehilce accident, it was a criminal act and should be investigated as such. I don't have many contacts in the Ala. LE community but if I find out what agency, I'm sure I can make some!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Bob, thats a great idea about Full throttle. Also, I am sure there are members here that have riding groups in that area. If we can get the word out to Patriot Guard, BACA, and any other MC in the area, we just might be able to come up with a tag, driver info and maybe a photo that Eck could look at? JMTC

    Grips

Long story short. Had to ride home Sunday from just outside Winston Salem, NC to Atlanta in the snowstorm. Made it as far as Duncan, SC before the ice got too bad we decided to quit. Waited out the snow and the next morning we were warming up the bikes and we had started them and I turned on my grip heaters to get good and warm. As I came out of the room, I got bunches of smoke coming from under the tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!Smelled just like burnt wires. First instinct was to turn off grip heaters and then bike. Restarted the bike and it looks as if the grip heaters shorted, as I had no further problems. Now, the real question is, I'd like to replace the grips. I've really never been happy with the ones on there (I assume they're stock, bought bike used) but they had installed grip heaters. Now I'd like to find a pair of grips that are larger in diameter and maybe with built in heaters? Do they make such an animal for the RSV? I'm not into flash, so chrome ain't the big deal, but a larger pair of grips hopefully with some heat would really fit the bill. Anyoone here have any suggestions? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I sinply ran mine under the tank, splice a triler two prong on the end and keep it plugged into the tender plug. Only isue is that when you remove the plug from the rear of the unit, its hot. Make sure you either unplug it or put on the protective cap. Don't ask how I know that.........................Do have some extra fuses now........................
  16. We love the patch! We're there almost every day when we're down for either Bike Week or Biketoberfest! We're hoping to be down the first weekend and do Leesberg also. If it turns out we can make it, we'll for sure try and meet ya at the patch!!!!!!!!
  17. Does anyone here have any experience with a motorcycle hauler in the Mass. area? I have a friend who's son needs his crotchrocket taken from Lynn, Mass. to the Ocala Fl, area. I've never used one but I've read about several that have used them. Just wondering if anyone here in that area has any ideas? thanks!
  18. Redbeards got right at 240K on his 99. Still runs great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Not sure it'll work? I did have it uploaded using garmins POI loader for my 2720 Streetpilot
  20. How about "Sit"? Be funny to hear ya call her???? LOL
  21. Both Redbeard and I have the Garmin 2720. Great features and several ways to hook it up.
  22. LOL Now all I have to do is learn how to sing and to play the drums, guitar, harmonica, tamborine, cymbols, several wind instruments, not to mention playing a tune or anything in three part harmony...LOL Course Dragon did jam with some of the local street vendors not to mention play along with the entertainment at Hans in Helen. Had a great time at the N. GA. Meet and eat. Good to meet Carl ,for the first time, and Blackjack and Bob, we had a friend in from Brasil that had wanted to go to the mountains in Magggie Valley, but the weather kept most from going. We decided to do Helen instead. Great ride through the mountains led (kinda) by Redbeard and his GPS . Thank god for maps......... Was a bit chilly and had some small showers, :rain2:but they didn't last long. I think the folks at the bike shops in Helen will never be the same............................. Thanks for the good time yesterday and welcoming our friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Until we ride again! Pick
