  1. It's just to protect them from folks that can't load properly. Now this guy has an entire house and food for a week on his bike: http://images.inmagine.com/img/lushpix/uny540/u19266019.jpg
  2. Oh yea! Well why don't you go take a flying leap over to the Dairy Queen! . . . . . . . . . . Guess I told him!
  3. Wanderer

    Thanks ebat

Hey! I just play the game, don't bother with reading the manual or instructions. But it is nice to have a clock. Makes it almost worth the cost. Plus I can tell you the exact time I got stuck in the mud.
  4. Pete Behm What a great accomplishment. I only hope I can do the same some day. The Saddle Sore was great and a lot of fun, but I would really like to challenge myself as Pete has.
  5. OK!!!! That's enough!!!! I've had my fill of all the "really good folks" on this site. From now on I'm gonna be Mr. Bad A$$. No more "Goody Two Shoes" for me.
  6. Pure coincidence for me. I was 400 miles from my 7k change so I just killed two birds with one stone. Supposed to be good to skip for the next 4 changes, but I'll see if I want to make it a regular maintenance item.
  7. Why not? You got to have something to do come winter.
  8. Sweet! Got some great ideas for future mods to my bike.
  9. Changed the oil. Still dino, Castrol GTX 20/50. Added the MotorKote and BAM!, I could tell an immediate difference. Now my bike is new and I haven't had any crickets or other obvious annoying noises, but the bike just seemed to run quiter and more solid. I do believe my MPG has improved although I'm still verifying that. Every thing is subjective, head winds, tail winds, up hill, down hill, wrist twist,,, etc. I've ridden approximately 900 miles in the last couple of days. I've yet to get less than 38.6 mpg compared to 34 to 38 before. It was rare for me to ever achieve more that 38 mpg. Any way, I'm convinced that MotorKote did make a difference and that's good enough for me.
  10. I tried pushing, but every time I got up to give it a push, I had no traction at all. So I'd dig down below the tire stick my 18" long 1x4 under it and after about 10 feet I got it out. I thought about having the wife pull me with her car and a rope I had, but I know her too well to have taken that chance.
  11. You're right, but I worked a lot of it off digging out.
  12. I'm searching now for some knobbies the right size.
  13. Not able to overcome my wanton need to dawn the pink chaps I pulled over at the nearest rest area to change. Now back on the road in the pink chaps I wondered what adventures must lie ahead.
  14. Yeah, and about 3 hours of washing the most of the mud off.
  15. This gives new meaning to "stuck at home": From my visit to the Huntsville Meet and Eat on Saturday 5 Sep 09, I rode the 4 hours up mostly in the rain. I rode the 4 hours back always in the rain and I guess it never stopped raining at my house and this is the result on my return. I'm flipping stuck! http://lh4.ggpht.com/_xOOWRVc9-a4/SqUmjeahi_I/AAAAAAAAA1Q/29--PzI1mrc/s640/0905091821.jpg http://lh3.ggpht.com/_xOOWRVc9-a4/SqUmjlAfO_I/AAAAAAAAA1U/0_vbCFWQUI0/s640/0905091822.jpg http://lh5.ggpht.com/_xOOWRVc9-a4/SqUmjtWxjEI/AAAAAAAAA1Y/OuVOQcgZ4HI/s640/0905091822a.jpg I gradually dug my way out in about 45 minutes. Just thought you might find this interesting. Can't remember when I've had more fun.
  16. Given the fact that you're in LA is it possible you drank the MotorKote and put the Squeeze in the crank case?
  17. In 3 years, if I don't buy any more expensive toys, I'll join you.
  18. I was on the Suzuki and Kaw Forums, but wanted more info on the Yamaha tourers. I don't know how long I was on here, but was finally pushed over the edge by a few of the great members on here and that's pretty much how I ended up with the RSV. I guess I probably Googled myself over to the site. Wouldn't trade my RSV or this site for nothin'.
  19. Thanks, I need to check my shift lever. That actually did happen to me on a previous bike.
  20. 4 signatures, 1 year or so? My my we are slow readers here.
  21. It's obvious to me that you have a thing against crickets, and I quote "THE CRICKETS ARE DEAD!" I'm sorry, but this is unacceptable and I feel it necessary to contact PETA. I'm sure you'll here from them soon.
  22. I can't bear the suspense. :rotfl:
  23. A little over won't hurt and they won't say a thing. I had 800 or 850 on mine at first service. I let them do the first and I've been doing it since.
  24. I'm certainly proud to call Arthur my friend.
  25. Us guys with Seashell motorcycles seem to be a little defensive.
