I'd give you such a sob story about my health problems and triking the RSV which will send me to the poor house, but, I'm more interested in the mod putting the guages on the gas tank cover using pods. I could, however, use the gauges themselves so I can save money so I can continue to give 1st gen parts away to the needy...

I had heard a rumor about Potato Creek being an ideal site for the 5th Anniversary M&E...

You are lucky that the wires did not interfere with the carb linkage...

I did that!! Used 1 so far and still have another spare for future projects!! You have 2 channels that you can route the wires thru, on the left and right. 4 phillips screws aqnd the cover comes off to route the wires where they will stay put...

It was Johnny Blaze, on his blue chopper with the orange flames, and the bike looked like it had smoke rising from it as if it had been on fire or something. He stops, looks at the rag tag envoy, points to Beer30 with the pink chaps and says...

Not really. The tank comes off easily enough, though. With practice, you can do it in 2 mkinutes. With the seat off, there is one 12mm bolt in the back to remove. Take the plastic cover in front of the gas cap off, 2 allen head screws, 4mm or 5mm, and unplug the connector for the gas guage, and remove the rubber vent hose. Next, turn your petcock OFF and remove the rubber hose. The last thing is the 2 allen head screws , one on each side of the tank. lift back and up, and viola...

From what you describe, either your new battery is bad (which sometimes happens) or either your stator or voltage regulator took a dump. It also could be something as simple as the battery terminal wasn't tightened enough. What was the reason for the new battery?? Maybe the old one wasn't as bad as you thought...

I may have confirmed this as well by accident. Just for S&G's I put a bubble level on my fairing and monitored as I rode. Driving straight ahead indicates a slightly unlevel condition, and leveling the bike makes it drift slightly to the right. I've tried repositioning my body left and right with only a slight difference. The bike feels fine and natural but I was just curious and decided to do an experiment...

...of the open road on a Venture!! We tried to flag them down, but it was no use as they kept rolling down the highway. Some of us were geting tired from the day's adventures and wanted to get some shuteye before the final push to Nashville the next day. Some of us were willing to camp by the side of the road but others insisted on better accomodations for the night. We looked on the GPS for hotels or motels but there were none available. We were ready to ride some more in search of a place to stay but suddenly...

...Choo!! Then I looked at my display and noticed a rather large bug crawling on it. I quickly shoo'ed it away and discovered that the bug's shadow was what made the appearance of a bump. The bug was insistant on flying into the light, so I decided to find a brighter light to attract it. In the distance I saw a glimmer of light that got brighter as I got closer to it. But this light seemed to be moving closer as well as I came closer to it! What is this light, I wondered. Suddenly I noticed the light getting bigger and brighter very rapidly...

Waaaaay Cool!!! Yup, that was us! Those loud pipes were from the Harley behind me though! Yah, we live about a mile and a half down the road off 39, where Arcade and Yorkshire meet! How did you end up picking Holland for lunch??
