  1. No worries Lewis, Riderduke will follow the rules and post who has it....I have a feeling I know who it is and it's pretty close if I imagine right

Vengence is mine sayeth the lord....good to see that it will have a happy ending for you folks.
  3. The light on top was an extra piece that could be bought from markland who made much of the aftermarket chrome for the Ventures back in the day. Sounds too like you might have a fender rail too....post some pics and we'll tell you for sure.
  4. If your are able to talk about your wreck, you did some things right and had some luck with you. Lonna and I wrecked at 75 mph on I 10 in Baton Rouge after a massive tire failure. I did everything I could to keep the bike up, which came to me automatically. I did all the manuvers before I could think of them, I was happy to see that happen. I dont think I could have done anything different as I had zero control of the culprit that slashed the sidewall of the tire. I'm always careful about my tires and dont try to push them too far. I'm pretty anal about pressures too, but it was just our time, and how we didn't die I dont know. Like mentioned, ride like nobody see's you and keep yourself out of situations like blind spots on vehicles. I also ride very cautious in cities with my hand ready to brake and shift.
  5. I cringe everytime I see those pics Jerry

Seems to be more of this story than you are leading Gerry
  7. 700R4...I talked with Kreg earlier this morning, but I agree with Silvr T lots of electronics that make it shift now a days. Just FWIW the truck has about 135000 miles on it, so for that truck and that trans, it's time for a rebuild. They are notorious for puking at about 125000 miles.
  8. Here's what mine is like on my RSV
  9. Now yer talkin'
  10. Freebird Don?? I hadn't noticed it before, but you could be right (as much as I hate to say that)
  11. Thanks for putting this up Brandy, just sent one out a minute ago. May you and Wayne have a wonderful Christmas season.....Semper Fi
  12. Whatever it takes, nice looking bike and the good gas mileage is definitely a plus
  13. I remember Stardbog having a case on his handlebars that was water proof. I too would like to find info for future reference as I have a 4 GB Nano that I have modified onto the rubber tank strip. If he doesn't read this ina day or so i would PM him and pick his brain a bit.
  14. I hate to say it, but I would be carrying on that job...and be having Polar Bear stew for dinner....and my friend on the camera, we'll he probably wouldn't be for very long BTW...I wonder if he actually made it into the truck ?
  15. I haven't heard of anyone picking up the ball with one. Usually it's being talked about in August as pics are to be submitted. It's a lot of work and although there have been some in the past, I doubt if there will be an '09....but I could be wrong if someone picked up the gauntlet
  16. Jim, It's good to "See" that your spirits are high with this, God works many wonders in the simplest ways. I wish you the best with your procedure and you never know who will read this and spur them on to getting a checkup...2 birds with one stone, so to say.
  17. It is amazing how the world can look like it's going to hell in a handbasket, but it doesn't seem that way when we are here. I know I have commented a few times on this thread, and I really want to say this. PLEASE dont worry about us having a bike, I WILL have another bike come next spring. It might not be brand new, but we will ride, it's not something that I can do without. I can do without a brand new one. I also want to say that I didn't want for folks to think we are at the bottom, we aren't, and we aren't broke. If you folks could only see the others that have talked with me and sent best wishes...it's humbling. I accept responsibility for all my actions, and buying a new bike comes with it's pitfalls. In July with half of my riding season gone I needed a bike, and said to hell with it, I'll buy a new one. It is the 1st brand new vehicle I have ever purchased, and I was very excited to do it, I was also apprehensive. There is no guarantee that my bike will sell, so we might be jumping the gun a bit. But I thank everyone of you that feels I contribute here, I try to lead by example, and thats what I will do here with this situation. I mentioned it to Jay in an earlier post, I wont accept anything from the group. I'm not saying that to be smug, it's just my nature, and there are many more people in dire need of help than Lonna or myself. I will live my life by example, and hope that it inspires others to do the same. I dont have words to express how I feel about this place...it is a drug that even when I think I want to walk away....I can't. I hope you folks here look at eachother and realise that all of us inspire eachother. To be the best that we can be, or to champion worthy causes. Don created this site years ago, and I can tell you 1st hand that he is absolutely amazed at what it has turned into. You folks inspire me, to do the right things, and help as much as I can to my fellow man that may be down. If you want to know your early Christmas present from me....look at the people on this site, they are the gift. Thank you all again, just help me find someone to buy my bike
  18. Nice thought Jay....but I would never accept that, I thank you for thinking of me that way. Like I have mentioned, I'm planning ahead, if it all goes south I will have fewer worries. I know this is just a temporary thing, all of us have the hills and valleys of life. We may not be in a valley, but it is looking that way. We will come through this, my life has never been about material possesions, I've never really had them. I put my trust and faith in the common man, folks like all of you. You are the ones that teach me, because you face the same situations that I am. Even if everything bottomed out in my life, this place would give me some peace and friendship. It is becoming more evident that we need to get out of Michigan, this state is the worst in the nation, and out elected officials have run it into the ground. We are going to try and sell the house come spring, and who knows where we will show up Thank you all again, a mans wealth isn't shown by his bank account, but how many lives he has touched....it appears that I am a Millionaire
  19. Good work Herb as I have heard it said before "necessity is the mother of invention" that surely rings true in your case
  20. 1st off, I want to thank all of you that have passed on the well wishes. I have recieved numerous PM's, emails and a few phone calls passing good carma our way, and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Just so there is no reading between the lines, I still have a job, that hasn't changed. Right now we are surviving on my income as Lonna isn't working as of yet. I work in a power plant that is owned by GM as we supply steam and compressed air to their several facilities on this square mile property. We all know what is happening with the big 3 and this is no room for debate, but if GM goes under, so does my job even though I work for Detroit Edison. I am just doing a bit of pre damage control as I dont see the economy getting better. Lonna and I have weathered a lot of storms together, I'm just preparing myself for the worst and hoping for the best. Thank you all again and just so everyone who cares to know, we will be a Maintenance Day, be it in the wagon or on a different bike. You all know that I WONT be off 2 wheels for very long, and your never getting rid of me unless the boss boots my arse out of here
  21. Thanks Orrin
  22. No I asked him about it, just to be sure it was him doing it...I'm sure it will come back around soon for all
  23. ....I have put my '08 up for sale in the classifieds. Nothing dire right now, but Things are getting a little tight here and I need to get a better handle on finances. Unfortunately that is a toy that can go If anyone knows of somebody looking for a newer RSV in excellent shape with goodies on it...please send them my way. BTW I am asking what it owed on the bike, but could negotiate a little.
  24. I got them Herb...here they are
