Steve, Very good insight on your part and it's going to be a crap shoot at best. In 1985 GM built this new boiler (there were/are 8 smaller boilers that were converted to natural gas in the 80's for their steam load) # 9 as we call it is a coal fired CFB (circulating fluidized bed) unit that will produce 300,000 lbs of steam an hour. The Generator is a GE 28 mega watt unit with a small turbine. Deal is, half of the steamload is used for extraction and sent to the surrounding facilities for heat. This cuts down on our ability to generate maximum mega watts. It also cuts our summer output to crank up the juice. Hard saying what will happen, if the big 3 go under, a job wont be my only worry. So I'm really not too concerned as I will just pack up and leave Michigan if I loose my job. They can deal with the house, but I wont stay here thats for sure. We'll see what happens and go from there, I would just like a few less bills in case I have to get out of here fast. I'll just take it 1 day at a time and hope that the man upstairs doesn't have me jumping through hoops to learn another lesson ...and for all you others Thank you for thinking of us, I can't tell you how nice it is to know that there are folks out there pulling for us. Oh and Rich....you might just see us in Wyoming with any luck

It's unfortunate that I couldn't further my Airframes career after I got out of the service in '91. I really enjoyed that kind of work and now it could have taken me down south...good of you to post that info up

Dave, There are quite a few donation accounts here on the site. Cerberus (Black owl of old) manages one for the OPE (Out of pocket) fund. Folks can also donate to the site for upgrade costs, to Freebird. I'm on the fence about what I believe your describing, I will always help out a brother in need if I can. But another account would mean someone else to monitor it and accept donations. Were getting ready for another St. Judes fundraising season and I'll be taking funds for that. It's hard to do all of this on a volunteer basis with an internet forum. Dont take what I have said wrong, your heart is in the right spot. But it's hard to defend an account like that when not everyone is going to agree on who or what the monies would go to.

I'm all for innovation...but that one has me scratcing my head as to why did he build it

I know where your coming from Gerry. I too try not to inject too many personal feelings here on the site. Many times they can be misconstrewed and then folks come on and start rants and that just doesn't work real well here. I am of the beilef, like you, that meeting with the group here IS refreshing. I think thats why most of us that make M&E's are addicted to them. I am very glad to see that your daughter was able to get rid of this man and hope that her new man will be a solid foundation for those younguns. I believe that many of us think alike on this forum, it's only when we get face to face that we really talk to eachother. This is just our avenue to set up times that we can "Talk"

I had a Taurus 9mm when I was in the service, good gun and mine shot well too. I believe they bought a Beretta factory in Brazil so amny years ago and started making them there...but that was a long time ago

I've been wrong before, but I do hope that David or it's new owner comes on with a pic of who does have it so I can atleast keep track of it

Mike's bike has been upgraded to the MK II forks, the evidence is the electric anti dive on them. So, no, this still means that the MK I's cannot be swapped traditionally to R1/R6 calipers

Thats a screaming good deal on an '08 and fellas I do appreciate your thinking of me. Frank I also appreciate you taking the time to post up the bike you have mentioned. I owe $2000 more on my bike and if someone has a budget to live by $2K can break a deal. I always like to see one of our members get a good deal or upgrade to a scoot that they really want...never too many choices

Just so folks know where I am coming from, and this isn't a rant (maybe it is). I am ALL about forgiving people who PROVE BY ACTION that they are sorry for their mistakes and pay up the consiquenses. I am sick and tired of our society here in the US (I dont know how they run things in Iceland) placing the blame on others for their problems. I am also sick and tired of being the taxpayer and helping them try to change when they have no intention on doing it. Lonna's daughter was married to a puke that has 8 kids 2 of them are our grandsons. He has never paid child support on 6 of the 8 and to be honest with you if he was to disappear tomorrow, I would shed no tears. I have had many trials and tribulations in my life, and have had to pay for mistakes that I have made. The biggest question here is, how long do you let a leech suck before you cut the head off ? The biggest loosers are his children, they didn't ask for any of this and now will be scarred for their lives in some way as to their fathers actions. Sorry to come out and perhaps burst a few bubbles about "Squidley" but this kind of thing frost my rear like nothing else you can imagine. I hope that he straitens his act out and becomes productive, but I have serious doubts about that. Stand up and be a man, I do it and I expect others to do it also
