  7. Yeah, those 305's were junk, I'll take the 350 everyday...thats why my wagon has one
  8. It's good to hear a story with a happy ending...glad you are able to tell it TJ
  9. The phone is on TJ should you need to use it It's all good Jack, I'm right with you on the maintenance. I change out every fluid when I get a new to me bike. The '99 was the 1st one I ran out of time on before we left...I only had it 10 days before we left on that 10000 mile trip
  10. A heartfelt thank you to both of them and to you for serving Semper Fi
  11. I dont disagree with you Jack, and I couldn't agree more with you on the friction discs. Everyone I have mic'ed have been at the stock thickness. I will disagree though as when Lonna and I came to Susanville, I had just swapped my brake fluid in Vogel. Did a complete swapout as I lost my clutch in Knoxville TN with Freebird and knew it needed swapping. I then proceeded to head out to California and by the time I got there the clutch was slipping. When we headed back and stopped at the 1st PIP it was really getting bad. I replaced it when we got back home and never had an issue since. Good thought to check the fluid 1st, but as many as I have seen on the G2's it's been the spring plate failing
  12. Your part of the family here Gary, that is with or without a bike. God does work in mysterious ways, I know how I felt after our accident. Get the body in shape and the mind will follow, you know the drill, he is driving from above
  13. Damn Kiddo! What are you trying to do to us , we can deal with 2021....man you sure know how to jerk the chain
  14. Jeff, It all depends upon how the bike was ridden before you got it. If it was 2 up and hauling a trailer, that puts a lot of stress on the clutches of any Venture. Best way to tell is in 4th gear at a decent RPM get into hard, if you feel it slip a bit as your going into 5th more than likely it is getting weak. Less than $100 and about 1hour time and there will be no more worries.
  15. I dont keep the plastic cover over the fuses as it just slightly pushes the cover up. Without the cover on there are no clearance issues. Depending upon how you install it that might not be an issue for you, but if you go like I did mine (back on the plastic strip where the old one was) it will more than likely push up a bit.
  16. Real easy TJ, put it on the sidestand and you wont loose but a few drops of oil. I can have one done and back together in about 30 minutes. If you run into any problems give me a call.
  17. Lookey there...it's the OLD Platnum Hooter himself, eating no less
  18. Just reread your 1st line, the tank badges are easy to pull off, the eyebrows or "Whiskers" are not so easy. The chrome piece will come off the tape, but the tape sticks like nothing you have ever seen. It took me 3 days to get the residue off the fairing, so be paitent and use the WD40
  19. Here is his ad in the classifieds http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/2330/cat/6/date/1156391368 and below are a few pics of how I did mine
  20. Joe, Hang in there my friend, I have gone through it and my ex and I split amicably. There is nothing worth fighting over to make a lawyer rich, there the only winners in a divorce for the most part. I do hope you can get out more, M&E's are great food for the soul, let us know if we can help you with anything
  21. If it does come down to the cabins are for a week, we'll deal with the dates accordingly. The poll reflects individual time periods as far as I'm concerned, not just specific dates. We can be flexible with all of this and iron out wrinkles as they need be. Remember this is the sites rally, not just the planners, if you have an idea or suggestion dont be afraid to toss it out.
  22. The Mon thru Wed is so folks have a few days to get there and a few days to get home. They would only have to take a weeks vacation and not have to push their ride in either direction. Not that it was initially in the equasion, but lodging is cheaper during the week days.
  23. Ah youse guys crack me up!
  24. Yeah....but is it running
  25. Double sided tape, I have taken them off 2 of my RSV's
