  1. Couldn't have said it better, Thanks again Dianne and let him know were still thinking of him and all of you helping
  2. Jack, You can't pull the caps off from the top of the tubes while they are in the trees with the fairings in the way. You have to atleast pull the inner and outer fairing so you can bring the old springs out and install the new ones. I'm going to do it to the '99 I'm rebuilding, probably gonna get ahold of Mr. Rick Butler and pick his brain on what brand of springs he uses, I think he's got Race Tech in his Midnight BTW folks, there is a typo here in this post, the maximum pressure for the front forks on a G2 is 7 lbs. If you go over that you risk a good chance of blowing out the fork seals
  3. Your rear and left front brakes calipers are linked, the rear petal controls them both. You need to bleed it again and make sure that the front is also bled. It's a pain, but you have to pretty methodically go through the process, here is a partial write up to bleeding the system and a trick too. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=490 Others will chime in shortly...
  4. I dont think I'd be calling myself an amateur if I made creations like that Dick That is a beautiful piece of furniture
  5. It can be a pretty cool place in spite of the bikes
  6. I'm here for you man, kind of a humanitarian thing in me. Just ask Dave (Jus Monkeyin Around) about giving him a kick Hell it's only 876.29 miles to Telarosa from Conroe, I driven father for Ice Cream
  7. Puts a smile on my face knowing that you guys tackled it Mark. It's a big project and you both should be proud of your accomplishment. I know when we finally do get to meet Rachel she's gonna give it to me Good on ya Both
  8. It's really like an old rusty steel trap....you just never know when it's gonna SNAP!
  9. Thats not a bad price for Canukadaland, I know you'll have it purring in no time
  10. Dont waste your money on the Harbor Freight, Miller or Lincoln. Looking forward to chatting with you
  11. She dont look too terrible from the pics, how much you get her for?
  12. I am seriously considering doing this on my '99, but the carbs will have to be rejetted. I also want to look into aftermarket exhausts from the heads out, the stock ones are a bit small and if you can open them up a bit it will breathe easier....just one of the million things rolling around in me noggin
  13. I find that many times, as much as I pay attention to other bikes, I miss several of them. perhaps because I am concentrating on a bonehead in front of me or such. Some guys just dont feel comfortable letting go of the handlebars. I'm sure there are some that just play a clique, but I know personally I have missed a wave at another bike just because I didn't see them till the last second due to my mind being on something else.
  14. Roger that Dale, the door is open if you need it or any others that want a place to crash....it sure is nice having a house that is twice as big as our last one
  15. Gene, If your going to get a 110 volt welder make it a good one. Miller or Lincoln are your best bets, flux core is nice, but you have to keep the temp higher to get it to flow well. Wire and gas will give you a better precision weld and will run cooler so you can do more detailed welds. The nice thing about the newer welders is that you can run both Fluxcore and Wire/Gas with the same unit. What exactly are you trying to do with it? An Arc welder is good for heavier gauge steels and takes a bit more practice. The Mig is pretty easy to catch on to for general welding. I have been welding for about 25 years now, certified in 7018 Arc. If you have other question PM me and we can chat, or I could do a road trip and give you some hands on.
  16. That thar is yeller!! Looks good though
  17. One of our members in Ohio, Moped, fabricated a set of intakes from some old 80's GM truck mirrors. I'll tell you what they look VERY cool, others have done similar to what you have mentioned, but I can't remember who it was now
  18. He's not alone in that thought, but to be honest many guys dont rev these bikes high enough. I always drop a gear when I want the bike to move, and when I pass I'll drop it to 3rd and put the hammer to it. The Vmax gears in the rear of the G2 will help with that 2 up trailer issue, although I would still drop a gear to climb a hill loaded like what you have mentioned.
  19. Where are you staying @ Dale, we have room here @ the house if your interested?
  20. Thanks for the update Dianne.... I was going to come on and let the members know of our conversation. It was good to talk with him, albeit short, when the nurse came in and we had to end out call He sounds good and was very appreciative of all the good vibes coming from the members. As soon as I talk with him again I'll keep y'all informed. Dianne, you gals have a good weekend, you absolutely deserve a break
