  1. Beautiful job - both look great. When I lived on the farm, I bought a trailer (the haulage end of a transport truck) for about $800.00 - made a great storage unit, lockable and safe.
  2. I used a hair dryer and then s-l-o-w-l-y peeled it off. Got the residue off with peanut butter.
  3. Don - that price range sounds fine by me - still in - thanks
  4. Lou - that was great! :clap2::clap2:
  5. Ahhh - memories of high school - oops - who said that?
  6. Now that was hilarious!!!!!
  7. Hey Kit Good luck with your decision - don't quit this board though - I've really enjoyed your posts. I too have hummed and hawed about this but decided that the bike is too good a ride to give up - yet! I did go for the Mustang seat - huge improvement in the ride - and am willing to put up with the screech for a while longer. I do believe I will start wearing ear plugs ANYWAY - so the noise should be lessened - been meaning to use plugs for some time. Again - good luck deciding and it doesn't really matter what you ride as long as you do. Cheers Eugene
  8. Nice try Charlie - too late!!!! Seriously though - next spring/summer I must ride up your way and say howdy - I lived in Sudbury for a bit back in the '80's. Cheers Eugene
  9. Yup - count me in for 3 or 4 Can we make a "donation" to the site and you "gift" us the bells? Ya know, the luck thingie!!!
  10. Well - i woulda thought about it - but he'll be snowed in any day now - so - nope - no can do!!
  11. What a wonderful thing to do. :clap2::clap2: I confess to having a weird sense of humor as well - I took someone for a ride this summer and once the bike got rolling, she asked how experienced I was on a bike - told her I just wrote the written test the day before and now had 90 days to gain experience before the road test. Never realized how big a person's eyes can get!!!!
  12. Here's one more Canuck gettin' ready to head to Texas - now I can afford to BUY BUY BUY since we have outpaced the US$
  13. Hey - I'll take the marbles - seen a bag go for around $200.00 at an auction recently. (That's Can$ - equal to about US $400.00 - )
  14. Bring em on!!!

  16. Some excellent points here. Each person has to make their own decisions. Myself, 4 years ago my wife was diagnosed with cancer and passed away 3 months later. The main consolation for me has been that we did everything we wanted to do - we had horses, bikes, cars etc etc etc. Used them all, with care of course but refused to let the fear of doing something interfere with our enjoyment. We knew our risks - took them - and led a full life on our terms. I vividly remember how long it me to get over my fear of horses but I did and had some great times riding in all seasons. Now - I can at least look back and feel really good that we did what we did and how we did it. As other people have said - we cannot possibly know when our time has come and as long as the enjoyment surpasses the fear and we do things in as careful a way as we can - I say - go for it!!! Eugene
  17. Yup - been there - done that. My fiance at the time (wife after that) drove a 76 Triumph spitfire as did I. She was CHOCOLATE BAR and I was GREEN PEPPER. Drove all over the place talking on the CB's to each other - good fun and thanks to the OP for bringing back some nice memories!!
  18. Huh? I traded UP to the cruiser from a Venture!!!
  19. OOPS - ppt attachment did not work - sorry.
  20. Hopefully this will work - make sure your sound is turned on! Have fun Eugene
  21. Knock on wood (ie my head) - so far - no hits. Have come close to deer, skunks, dogs etc - I slow down anywhere near woods and speed up anywhere near farm lanes!
  22. I just wanted to put in a favorable plug for the Mustang Seat Co. I ordered one last Thursday - got a confirmation e-mail within an hour. Just a few minutes ago, for the heck of it, I e-mailed them just to see the status of the order. They e-mailed me back within 5 minutes stating that the order was shipped last Thursday (same day I ordered) and that I should get my seat very soon. (They had suggested 4-5 business days and it sure looks like it will happen!) Firstly, that's pretty darn good shipping time from them to me (in Canada) and secondly, I have NEVER received a reply e-mail that quickly. I e-mailed them back again to say thanks and sure enough, 5 minutes later, they acknowledged my 2nd e-mail and said they appreciated my business. So - a huge thanks and many words of praise to a fine company!!!!!! Eugene :clap2::clap2::clap2:
  23. Thanks again for all the and suggestions. I did order the Mustang and it should be here by tomorrow - just in time for the rains - yuck!! I'll see how that goes and then, if needed, will look at new handlebars but it seems the new seat will push me forward enough! Cheers Eugene
  24. Well I occasionally ride with somewhere to go - but 99.9% of my rides are like that - nowhere to go and no set time to get back!!! I do get lost lots so I have my GPS to find the way home. On my previous Harley, I put 25,000k in one year and on the RSTD, I've put over 18,000k - just touring and discovering coffee shops and neat ma and pa diners!! Cheers Eugene
  25. And a ha ha ha to you too - you got the blur right but reversed what actually happens. I too am on the danged waiting list for the "I" basket - if I can, I'll try to salvage the old and send it to you. Cheers Eugene
