  1. Hmm, either you read a reply of mine to Dingy's thread, or you've been in this spot too, or you stayed at a Holiday Inn express last night. Good Diagnosis anyways. Come on up to our MD next weekend, http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55588 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=240&day=2011-6-11&c=1 and I'll let YOU bend down and get a beer out of my fridge. Later, Scooter Bob PS. I'm knockin' back a few this evening, and it is killing the pain.
  2. I'm not sure what yer insinuatin' there Jeff, but I try to carry all my FAT in the front... It's called a BEER BELLY! I'll see if I can superimpose a Bud Lite can in the right spot.
  3. Thanks, I needed that.
  4. UPDATED info at post#23. Caution!! x-rated, not, xrayed:scratchchin:, not, MRI'd, ya that's it. So I've got this CD of my MRI last week, to take from my first Chiropractor to the new on with the decompression therapy machine. You know I couldn't pass up a look see. Now, I'm no doctor, but I did stay at a Super 8 a couple months ago:scratchchin:, and this can't be good. Here's a pic of my insides:Im not listening to, and that long white thing to the right of all the vertibraes is the bundle of nerves running down through my spine. There Jeff, Something to talk about besides MD in Ohio. Later, Scooter Bob
  5. How/where did you get the coupon??
  6. Ya, That's kinda what I was thinkin'
  7. Friday night is fine. We'll get you some floor space. GPS will get you to the vacant lot next door, we're the gray ranch on the east side of the street. I suppose you could do chips or cookies, I'll check with Karen. I have a friend 8 miles down the road that has a changer. He'll swap them for $10 per tire. We can lift and remove rims from bike and run them down there with my truck, or someones trailer behind a bike. If you want you can put my address down for the "ship to" if you don't want to haul the tires. Later, Scooter Bob
  8. We have space, and probably an air mattress as well. Beer and parts are all you need. What are you lookin' to wrench on? Later, Scooter Bob
  9. Karen and I should be home before 5 on Friday night. Come on down. You lookin' to tent or motel? Or we should have air matress space in the house and garage as well. Later, Scooter Bob
  10. Sorry to ear of your truck troubles, sounds like quite a mess. But it will be good to see you again, and the new trailer. I'm sure we can find lift time, I think Red Rider is bringing another lift also. We have lots of concrete inside and out for clean wrenchin'. Just bring whatever you need for supplies for your work, and that should be fine. Oh, and whatever you want to drink. No, back problems have slowed my activities a bit. But the garage is almost clean and ready. Later, Scooter Bob
  11. Ya, what he said. The noise is usually slight vibration between the pads and the pistons. If you do change them, I got dibs on yer old ones. I've got over 82,000 on the original pads. They've only been removed a couple times to grease the back sides. Later, Scooter Bob
  12. What did you let the smoke out of, yer truck??, or one of yer planes??
  13. Lucas Replacement Wiring Harness Smoke Kit http://www3.telus.net/bc_triumph_registry/smoke.htm Enjoy, Scooter Bob
  14. I think you're lookin' at it all wrong. Those are very important safety chrome pieces you're lookin' at. Those pegs let you get yer feet cooled off on a hot day. Those bars may help yer comfort and reduce upper back strain. An air horn WILL wake up a wayward cager wanting to take yer lane! I say SPEND AWAY!!! Later, Scooter Bob
  15. I think he's already trippin'... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60098
  16. Just 2 weeks to go... I'm gonna pick up a jug of this stuff in case anyone has any trouble with electrical mods... Lookin' forward to seein' everyone, Scooter Bob
  17. No shame in that:scratchchin:, sounds like a great ride to me. Later, Scooter Bob
  18. Hey Dingy, and others, Have you talked to your DR or Chiropractor about using an inversion table?? My regular guy was a little leary about using one before the decompression therapy I started yesterday, but the new Chiro that has the decompression machine(the rack) said he uses one himself, and that it would be alright for a couple minutes at a time. I bought one yesterday at Dunham Sports($150) and slowly put it together. First tip over to the lowest setting(about 20 degrees) pulled everything 10 times harder than the decompression machine, and seemed like way too much to start with. I stuck some blocks of wood in it to lessen the tilt to about 10 degrees, and used it several times yesterday afternoon and evening for a minute or two at a time. It's definately helping. Much more flexibility without pain last night, probably 80% of normal. Although I seemed to have pulled a couple muscles in my legs I didn't know I had. You don't need to be upside-down like Roger Teeter in the commercials. Just a little bit over level, and you can push the handles to get a little more stretch if needed. Just a thought, and I'll keep you posted. Good Luck, Scooter Bob
  19. Yes, almost a great write up, where's the pics? I was in the elevation in NM into CO a couple months ago, and also saw the noticable power loss. You don't mention how many miles on that '08, but I think they get broke in good around 40k, that's when mine started getting 40-48 all the time. Glad you had a great time, now, where's them pics??? Later, Scooter Bob
  20. Sorry to hear that. We have a guy around here fightin' for his life right now from a deer hit a week ago. Based on all the broken ribs and collapsed lung, I wonder if he didn't take the body of the deer right in the chest at speed. My second deer hit a couple years ago just put an end to riding at night. I just don't like not being able to see what's coming after me, and it's just not worth it. Be safe everyone, Scooter Bob
  21. From all the replies to this thread, I'm starting to think there is something wrong with the VENTURE seats. Oh wait a minute, I was riding a shovelhead when my problems started and I had the first L5-S1 discectomy in 95.
  22. Bummer on the postponement Gary. I finally got an MRI scheduled yesterday morning, I get out of bed in worse shape than normal, and get caught off guard by a sneeze I didn't have time to assume the position for, if you know what I mean, and pow. Had all I could do to get in the shower and get dressed. Walkin' around like Mr Tuddball from the Carol Burnett show! Missed work wed, today, and tomorrow. Chiropractor adjusted today and got me moving better. Tomorrow is decompression therapy (the rack). Doc is concerned that a second discectomy at this spot won't last long. As far as the gettin' old thing, I was only 30 last time, and 45 now. This could be a long road ahead. Best of luck on yours, Later, Scooter Bob
  23. Hmmm. I've got this 53 Elgin Outboard layin' around. Oh wait, it says VEHICLE. Thanks for hittin' that graduate target, finally! Later, Scooter Bob
  24. I don't think so...Here's a quote from the "Venture History" tab found at the top title bar on this site, unless someone did a major strip down of a Venture. 1996-2001 Yamaha Royal Starhttp://www.venturerider.org/images/royalstar.jpg Combining the big V-four pulled from their venerable Venture Royale tourer with a hint of "nostalgic" styling, the Royal Star line has held its own in the struggle for cruiser supremacy. For 1997 Yamaha added the new Royal Star Tour Deluxe to their line and threatens to send contenders scattering with the Royal Star's strong 1-2-3 combination. The Royal Star Boulevard came with medium height windshield and running lights. The Tour Classic I came with 4x4 exhaust, long windshield, passenger floorboards, sissy bar and short Yamaha hard leather bags. The Tour Classic II came with 4x2 exhaust, tall windshield, passenger floorboards, sissy bar and large slant soft leather bags. Both Tour Classics had the running lights. The Tour Deluxe came with 4x2 exhaust, tall windshield, passenger floorboards, running lights, sissy bar and removable hard plastic saddle bags that had front and back latches. Later, Scooter Bob
  25. YA, that Roadstar looks like it'd drag those bags real easy. The Royalstar has 4 carbs that need a sync procedure every 5-10k miles, but it's a ten minute job. That v4 is barely broken in at 50k miles, they're pretty bulletproof. I'm not sure what kind of final drive the Roadstar has, if it's a belt, you'll have one less worry in the Royalstar shaft drive. EDIT: Lynn beat me in the typing game. Ya, the shaft drive is less worry than the belt, but I bet you weren't running that Roadstar down too many grave roads anyways. And he's right, they definately like to run higher RPMs than you're used to on the twin. Good luck, Scooter Bob
