Not bike related, but neat to see. There building 90 wind turbine generators a few miles west of here.Took my grandson Jayden over there a week ago in the evening and showed him the makeshift railroad terminal where they unload everything for the top of the towers. The tower section come through our little town on semis everyday. Yesterday, we went during the day, and got to see them unloading some of the 143 foot long blades from the railcars. There's lots of towers started, but I finally found the one they're currently working on the top of. I'm going to take a drive over there this morning and see if I can catch them putting up another blade on it. Can't see this kind of stuff everyday. Later, Scooter Bob

I second that motion. We just got done eating at Mullin's Drive in a few block away. I'll exclude that one for myself also. the current target is= "You, your bike and a rootbeer stand" by EUSA1

Honest guys, he and the family really were 100 miles from home today. We stopped at the nice old downtown post office in Reeseville on the way home. They just remodeled, new siding, new concrete steps, new railings, etc... Way too nice to call an old post office now. Later, Scooter Bob

Looks Good to me. And we may be heading out in a bit for another ride also to meet up with EUSA1 and Sherri. Inquiring minds want to know... What's the next target Joe?

the current target is... A pic of you and your bike in front of a bait shop. Not some big chain store, but a little private owned home town bait shop. by Scooter Bob Here's examples as promised. Both did a great job picking names for the places. Happy Hunting, Scooter Bob

Having heard horror stories of folks with VSTARS having to remove exhaust and engine covers and what not to change the oil, That's the first thing I asked about when looking to switch from HD to the RSV. The RSV is a sweet set up for an oil change for sure. 1 drain pan can catch the filter and the sump!

If you get stuck with both sets, there's another member here in WI that might be interested in the Sampsons. He's up in Keil. I'll send him a PM about this thread. Later, Scooter Bob

WOW, Squidley would be proud to hear that. Only took two weeks to get your bike fixed after bringing it to a Venture Rider Maintenance Day. Later, Scooter Bob the current target is... A pic of you and your bike in front of a bait shop. Not some big chain store, but a little private owned home town bait shop.

If we can talk you into ridin' it an hour and a half northwest, I'd be glad to help. Give me a call if you want, @#920$%210&*4652. Later, Scooter Bob -
I've got it! But as soon as I got home, Red Rider stopped by with the Kawasaki 440 he's been fixin' up. So here it is, it's actually called Mill Creek, not a stream. http://tapatalk.com/mu/a6b54186-a37e-2363.jpg And yes, I am riding again! If ya'll 'll go for a creek, not a stream, the next target is... A pic of you and your bike in front of a bait shop. Not some big chain store, but a little private owned home town bait shop. If'n yer not clear on what I'm lookin' fer, I'll post examples tomorrow morning. Later, Scooter Bob

Are the TD's different from the RSV, or did you mean under the right side of the tank??

Not sure what part of Canada you're heading for, but if you end up going through Wisconsin, let me know. M&E or M&D or a place to stay, Let me know. Enjoy your travels, Scooter Bob

Ya Boss, but I bet the dealer charges a bit more than we do at an MD for removal and installation of 8 small saddle bag bolts, 2 muffler clamp bolts, and 2 bracket bolts. We just work wwaaayy toooo cheap.

Have there ever been any?? I've bought an 05 mrsv new, and never heard of any recalls on it. Only used the warranty once at 65,000 miles for a #3 coil and a rear shock.

Looks like $500 under Yamaha list price (if it is a 2011), +$500 for the pipes. If you like/want the $500 pipes, you're a grand under list. Might not be bad for a big city dealer?

Manure...I heard it's great for chapped lips too... Rub a little on the lips, and you won't lick them all day.

Better ride that thing up here to Fox Lake tomorrow and let me make sure the cassette deck works ok. Seriously, be sure to insist on a test ride. I think you'll find a much more comfy seating and leg room set up over the wing, but it does have to fit YOU. BTW, I looked at a Voyager at Daytona a year ago, and couldn't get the saddle bag to close on the demo bike they were showing. Enjoy, Scooter Bob

Unfortunately, you just missed Wisconsin Maintenance Day. Could have looked over several 2nd Gen Ventures (1999-2011) and scoped out mods and upgrades and met several members from this site as well to find out more. As others have said, there is plenty of power to be had, you just need to get over 3 grand to start to really find it. Since you're coming from a wing, you shouldn't have much of a transition problem. After 83,000 miles on mine, I still forget and try to grab another gear once in a while, as I came from HD's. Find a good dealer, and take one for a ride. I got mine in Delafeild in 2005, but they are out of business now. I don't know how good any other dealers are in your area. Pro Motorsports in Fond du Lac will let you test ride with a lid on, Team Winnabegoland North of Oshkosh might let you test ride without a lid, if that's your preference. Good Luck, and Welcome Aboard, Scooter Bob

Can't tell you about the Yamaha bars, but here's a link to the Flanders bars I have been running since 2007. http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp;jsessionid=ZVQAJ0VZYP4BZQFIDYFCM4WAVAPAQIV0?store=Main&skuId=594175&mmy= I don't know if these are the same ones that guys run on the RSTD. I missed the end bar weights, (comfort and stability), so I cut the weld on the threaded inserts in the stock bars and welded them into the flanders bars to retain the weights. Good Luck, Scooter Bob PS. I'll send a PM to EagleEye from Sauk City on this site. I'm not sure, but I think he may have more of a beach bar on his RSTD.

As others mentioned, lots of different types of back problems and causes. My current situation of herniated disc couldn't be helped by chiropractic adjustment because it was too late/too far gone. However, I've had vertibrae out of place in the past, and these are things a chiropractor most likely can manipulate back into position and get unjambed from the others and moving properly again. But, most doctors WILL NOT tell you that. (Doctor/Chiropractor are like 1st gen/2nd gen) They will most likely want to see an x-ray or take one themselves, and they will tell you if they think they can help or not. Since you say you have a vertibrae out of place, I would strongly advise you to consult a chiropractor before any more doctors try to use meds to fix/mask a mechanical problem. Just my , and best of luck, Scooter Bob
