  3. Just remembered, a couple of weeks ago I read an article from the Government that stated they wanted to make gyroscopes mandatory on all motorcycles. Just think in a few all our motorcycles will stand up like this one. tew47
  4. Check out this new idea for a motorcycle ! http://www.latimes.com/business/autos/la-fi-motorcycle-car-20120526,0,4147294.story tew47
  5. Please soneone, what are the bearing numbers for the front wheel, '07 RSV. Not Yamaha #, SKF or any other good bearing as in C3. Is 6004.2rs.C3 the right one? tew47:fingers-crossed-emo
  6. When you make it back to Mobile, give me a call. Lived here most of my life, maybe we can go for a ride or ice cream. tew47
  7. Take your cables to a bicycle shop and they can make you new cables a lot cheaper. tew47
  8. I went through flats, 2 valve stems bad. Shop that just changed to Michlein found a bur in the hole for the valve stem. Filed it down and now good as new. tew47
  9. Rode over to the shop that changed the tire ad let them ride it. After checking a lot things and riding it he though the steering head bearing were to loose. I also explained to him I have neurotrophy in my feet and I didn't know if it was me or the bike weaving. When I got home I tighten the bearings, but have not rode it yet. Don't how much longer I can ride with feet getting weak. If it were not for the heal and toe shifter I couldn't ride. My left foot is that weak. tew47
  10. 1000 miles back in 1984 on a 1971 BMW R60/5. Took 16 hrs. Averaged 47 mpg. Top speed 85, cruising speed 75 mph. tew47
  11. Jacked the bike up and bumped the handlebars left and right and they only bounces 1 time in each direction. The old Avon had about 20,000 miles on and it didn't move side to side. As soon as I put the Michlein tire it started to shake. Both are the same 130 size. Went to 130 because I teach MSF classes, and the 130 helped in the ERC class, easer doing the firgue eight in the box. tew47
  12. Had a Avon 130 on the front. Changed to a Michelin 2 on the front size 130 also. Put dyna beads in, took weights OFF rim. Now the handlebar shake from side to side and not up and down. Had put the livening links in and had to take them too and it helped. Running 45 psi rear shock, and 5 lbs in the forks, and 40 psi in the front tire. Bead is even all the way away around the tire and is turning in the right direction. What could be causing the tire to shake side to side? also adjusted steering head barring. tew47
  13. Have been telling my students that for years, thanks for the video, sent it to all my friends that ride and will make a DVD to show in the BRC course. Thanks tew47

    Flat tire

Here I go again another flat on the front. This is the third time on the front tire the most I have had in forty years. It is also leaking around the valve stem again. Is the stock valve stem with the nut on it the best? I am going to order a Michelin on wednesday. Two nails with a bad valve stem again another time. tew47:depressed:
  15. About Snell Ratings, just check Webbikeworld for helmets you will find a helmet that passed snell testing and failed DOT for penetration. Check all three ratings(European) and judge for yourself witch is the right one for you. I also had a Nolan that split up the side ands they would not warranty it because it was over three years old. tew47
  16. I have a AFX 140, it is the best helmet I have ever had and that includes Nolans and Shoei !!! Please check them out !!!! tew47
  17. Tried those back in 1981. Did nothing except milage went down. After several thousand miles I took them off and sent them back and got a refund. tew47
  18. Went out to go to the Dr. This morning and the front tire was flat. Aired it up and it was leaking at the valve. Took it to a tire shop and they also found a nail hole and fixed it to all for $37. tew47
  19. :301:I usually don't order a helmet that has not been tested, but I did in this case because it was different. Got it on Friday from J & P. The looks surprised me for the good. It really is different, the eye ports like star wars Darth Vader, I can see lower without tilting my head down. The shell seems a little thicker than my Nolan, and is stiffer when taking it on and off, but once you get it on my ears are really comfortable, nothing is touching them. Whine? What whine? THIS IS THE QUIETEST HELMET I HAVE EVER OWNED. With the visor almost closed or closed no noise. Had to turn the radio up a little to hear it better. And the face shield did not fog up when riding with the shield closed. I am very happy withe this helmet. tew47
