I don't know but I did notice that the tail light lens come in two colors and two sizes. 3" and 2 7/8". I measured my tailight turn signals and they appear to be 3". The lens we have on now screw straight in through the lens. The 59 Catty lens appear to slide into the chrome piece and the chrome piece appears to mount from the side. Now I don't have any of the pieces except the stock turn signals so I am getting this information from my own measurements, the picture in the first post, and the website that is selling the Catty lens. Whether or not I am correct or not I don't know. I am trying to find some used turn signal housings to verify all this with. I don't want to spend $95 for new ones from the Yamaha dealer. Hey it's not just dog food. My son is a body builder and all he eats is fish and oatmeal. Costco used to sell Tilapia for $4.29 per pound but you had to by 4 or 5 pounds at a time which was not a problem since my son would go through that in about 2 days. NOW Costco sells it for $5.49 per pound not frozen and $4.60 per pound frozen. I hate WalMart but I decided to shop around. WalMart's thawed Tilapia is $3.98 per pound and WalMart's frozen Tilapia is $3.50 per pound. I'm a member of Costco but they do not aways have the best deal.

Hey Eck now you got me worried. Here I just met you last Saturday and I made me a new friend. Now I have worry about you because that GW has too many buttons and switches. How in the devil are you going to be able to keep your eyes on the road and find whichever button you need to push:puzzled: Great looking machine though. Harry

A new member went down today. Highlander1ga (James) and his wife Angie were on their way to a family gathering when around 2 pm today the car in front of them stopped for no apparent reason and Highlander1ga could not stop and tried to go around the right side but there was not enough shoulder. Highlander1ga went over the embankment and noticed Angie was not on the bike. Highlander1ga put the Venture into the bank jumped off and ran to the aid of his wife Angie. The left side of the Venture is pretty messed up. Highlander1ga is not hurt other than a pulled leg mussel. I visited Angie in the hospital and she is in great spirits. She has a broken wrist, a fractured ankle, and one of her knees is about double the size it should be. She is at home tonight recovering from the accident and is still in great spirits. Lets all wish her a speedy recovery.

Hey I'll pay the ticket if it saves my life. The RSV has terrible rear lighting and anything you can do to let people know you are stopping is a big plus in my book. I have extra lights, flashing lights, strobe lights, light bars and even lights that don't light up until you hit the brakes. I look like a Christmas tree when I hit the brakes and I am still watching my rear view mirrors when I stop. I can't worry about what is legal and not legal in each state. As long as I'm safe or safer then I'll pay the ticket. And what about the cars that come from the factory with flashing 3rd brake lights? Anyway that's my

a GW! Did you fall and hit your head or something? Oh wait you did that explains it. Alright everyone don't be to hard on Eck. After his head quits hurting and the swelling goes down so he can see clearly again he is going to feel bad enough when he realizes he ain't got a Venture:bang head: But seriously Eck that is a beautiful Wing. What no air!:rotfl: Hope to see you Sat.

Look what that Harley fairing did to our RSTD

I think it will look real sharp once you get it finished. Looks good. Please send more pictures when you get it finished. Harry:thumbsup2: -
Well I hope this settled this chapter in you and your husbands life. I saw a lot of Harley bashing and I know it was all in fun. I prefer Yamaha's but Harley's are a lot better bike than they use to be. I have a lot of friends who ride Harley's and everyone of them will admit that Yamaha's are more reliable than Harley's. Now saying that none of them would get rid of their Harley for a Yamaha. The only reason I can think of is they think their Harley friends will shun them if they get anything other than a Harley. I am afraid they are probably right. I think this is the biggest difference between a Yamaha owner and a Harley owner; Yamaha owners make friends easily and don't need to buy anything to make them fit in, where Harley owners feel they have to ride Harley's or they will not be liked. They don't make friends easily. Take my Harley friends for instance, they will ride with me and they will ride with our Yamaha group but they will not invite me or the Yamaha group to ride with their Harley friends. All I can say is it must be a sad thing to have to buy a Harley so that you will have friends to ride with. Do you really want to call them friends? I think you have made a wise decision and I hope it does not hurt your relationship with your husband. Try and get your husband to try a Stratoliner, Road Star, V-Star or Royal Star and see if he likes one of them. When he tells you no that he likes what he is riding then that is when you tell him "see how it feels, that is what I have been trying to tell you". Then give him a big hug. Harry

He's not interested in her comfort as long as she looks good to the Harley crowd! After all who's ego is he trying to satisfy?

I bet you love your V-Star more than he likes H-D. Your V-Star was made to ride and his H-D was made to sit in the garage so he can tell his buddies "I have a Harley" Most not all but most H-D owners feel they must "fit in" and the only way they can "fit in" is to own a Harley. You can be your own woman or you can let him tell you what kind of a woman to be. Besides you need to keep your V-Star so when his Harley breaks down he can jump on the back of your V-Star to get home. Now before he reads this I need to change my user name so he doesn't shoot me.

I have a 2000 MM. You all know what they look like. Mine has black wall tires. I am considering white wall tires. Does anyone with a 2000 MM run white wall tires? If so do you have any pictures of your MM with the white wall tire? Thanks for your input, Harry http://www.venturers.org/Photo_Gallery/data/615/medium/My_2000_MM_Venture_number_728_-5R.jpg

My ISO grips have a flat piece that attaches to the end on the right side I guess you would call it a wrist lock, it is great. Really worth the extra cost. I just rest my right palm on that and it keeps whatever speed I am going. But on the rare occasions that I do use the cruise control I have been known (out of boredom) to put my right elbow on the gas tank and put my chin in the palm of my right hand and steady the bike with my left hand. But it doesn't take long to get bored with that either and you have to be careful of other traffic even more. No one ever accused me of being smart.

I have ISO grips and I don't notice any difference. MY friends (one has a 2005 RSVMS and one has a 2006 RSVMS) both have stock handlebars, grips, and weights. I have risers (that have been modified with round stock so that they rest in the rubber vibration disk) stock handlebars with ISO grips and no weights. We have all ridden each others bikes and we don't notice any difference. I ride it all the time and have never noticed any vibration. I did not put the round stock onto the side of the risers so I don't know why who ever did it did (may be they were getting vibrations) but mine are fine. If you are not adding risers I feel (IMHO) that the rubber insulators will absorbe the vibrations. Harry

Need WWW tires for Venture
YamaDuck replied to YamaDuck's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
No problem when I first saw it I was confused also so I did a little research to find out what it meant. By the way if you see NWW that is Narrow White Wall. I found that out at the same time. Harry:missingtooth:
