  2. Thanks guys ya'll are making me feel better about the 404s all the time. Harry:thumbsup2:
  3. Thanks I'll reconsider the Dunlop 404s. It would make life a lot easier. They have the tires I want. I didn't want the narrow white walls that Avon had I wanted the wide white wall so I'll look at 404s again. Thanks:thumbsup2:
  4. I was told the Dunlop 404s were good tires but that they are economy tires like the OEM Bridgestone. I was told the ride and tire wear were better than the Bridgestone but I would get better handling & tire mileage with Avon, Metzeler, Dunlop Elite 3s or Michelin Commanders. The Dunlop 404s are cheaper than the rest but if I don't get the mileage out of them I would get out of the rest then I'm really not saving anything. Harry:confused24:
  5. I am looking for quality recommended tire size white wall tires for a Venture. Avon has a back tire but not a front, Metzeler has a front tire (880) but not the back. Elite 3s only come in black as far as I can tell, Michelin Commander (currently have) I can't find in white wall either. I don't want Bridgestone or Dunlop 404s. Why does everything have to be so complicated? While I have your attention is there anything wrong with running radials? Thanks, Harry:bang head:

  8. A leftover Venture down here goes for $14,500. Unless you just like the color it doesn't matter which year 2nd Gen you get they are all the same. I've seen low mileage Ventures for less than $10,000. About 4 months ago my buddy bought a 05 Midnight with 9,000 miles for $9000. The deals are out there. Come on over, you'll like it.
  9. Well I donated $20 bucks. I'm half way to the $20. The first time I was just out side my garage with a gentle slop to the left and my foot slipped on some leaves. Since I had to pick it up with the hill and called my son who is a body builder to help pick it up. It was a piece of cake I basically just held on. The second Time I was with a buddy and was at a light and was pointing at something with my right hand and when the light change we were about to start up and turn left and when I put my right hand back on the throttle and gave her the gas she didn't go and I dropped her on the right side. I tried to start her and she would not start. Come to find out somehow when I put my right hand back on the throttle I hit the kill switch. I can drop her two more time before I owe anymore money. Hopefully that will be awhile.
  10. Hey Mike make sure you post some pictures when you get it. Harry:thumbsup2:
  11. Good luck Joe. I hope things get better for you real soon. If it does look at the bright side, you will be able to get the new tourer in 2010 whatever they call it. You had fun building your trailer and now you will be able to build another one. Wishing you the best. Harry:thumbsup2:
  12. I'm very sorry it had to come to that but I hope things turn around soon for you.
  13. Down here in the south around Atlanta, Ga. we don't call the interstates super slabs we call them parking lots. :rotfl:
  14. You can scratch Myrtle Beach bike week off your list Myrtle Beach is not biker friendly anymore and I have heard they have canceled bike week.
  15. The main problem I have with riding at night are the bugs. Bugs are bad enough in the daylight but after one night ride I have to clean all those bugs off everything and they are a lot of them. Then like has already been said the critters. Deer, raccoon, possum, armadillo's, rabbits, but look on the bright side in daylight you are dodging squirrels, dogs, cats, and kids. Harry:biker:
  16. I don't need a job I just want to applaud you for trying to help out your fellow man...well done!:clap2:
  17. If your thinking of the 2000 MM here in Ga. you need to buy it. I have a 2000 MM and that one is only 13 miles away. Way to close. Buy it and take it to TX or CA or WA. :rotfl:
  18. A buddy and I are taking our RSV's and are planning a tour of the US. We will leave Atl., Ga and hit TN, KY, IL, MO, IA, SD, WY, MT, WY, MT, ID, WA, OR, CA, NV, AZ, UT, CO, NM, CO, KS, MO, IL, KY, TN, and back to Atlanta, Ga. hopefully in 28 days so we can get back and go on an overnighter to Helen, Ga with the rest of our group. That just wore me out typing it much less riding it. Harry:usa::usa:
